Finding an old car or truck in a barn, fixing it up to make it safe and road worthy again and driving the heck out of it is more satisfying than buying a new car or truck.

John M. For sure my friend....Satisfying.....YES & you don't spend ALOT of $$$$$...Plain jane(base model) Chevrolet trucks now I think they starting around $30,000.00 or more...that a damn shame...Give my old over new every time.

Decent 74 chevy c10 custom deluxe long bed truck and hinges, and the square body 87 GMC v1500 kinda deserves to be fixed since it saved Dalton's life much more than the wagon would have tim sir

I took the '87 on trade against the white 1994 Grand Prix they got from me for their chase car.
Look for a video giving a full analysis of the condition of the truck soon!

Good to see a return to some will it runs! NOW, IF that big block 86 C30 hasn't moved on, there's a good candidate!! As well as some of those 71 Impalas you've rounded up.
    Just saying...

Daddy had that trucks country cousin it was a 74 GMC sierra it was good old pickem up Truck ! On those old fuel tanks been sitting for a little bit sometimes we need Berman B12 in the tank it would help clean up any nastiness in there and also help get rid of any water that’s been sitting in there from condensation ! Other times we might use marvel mystery oil also we use that in the crank case clean out some sludge when you change the oil also sometimes helps relubricate valve stem seals a little bit but sometimes I have to be changed ! After we’d rent an old car for a little bit which smells like oil and sometimes it doggone fuel pump would be pumping gas into the crank case ! And this is just some extra info but grasshoppers and pinecones some parts are edible ! Anyway TTFN keep having fun !

The fact that its a 74 without the catalytic converter makes it the last real unrestricted exhaust truck made by chevy. And makes it more desirable then the 75 at least for me. My next car will be pre 75 at least. I have a 78, 79 and 85 all with cats.

@nickzobel9922 Something to remember regarding these old square Chevys, catalytic converters first showed up on half tons only. 3/4 tons weren't required until 79 or 80, & idk if 1 tons were at the same break point or even later.
An example, even though it's Dodge-
First year Lil Red Express had no converters, 2nd year did as the Feds changed the weight & horse power specs. This was one of a few reasons the Midnite Express was created, & ran in smaller numbers.

That's the next step after brakes. As soon as those are completed, I plan to run several tanks of fresh fuel through it and see what it will do

If I remember right those older cars have to run a bit to build vacuum for the brake booster
