I’m currently unable to work due to illness - it really annoys me how often I have to go see my GP to have insurance forms signed off. This is a big part of a GP’s workload and there must be a better way to do this so doctors have more time to see patients.

*Why should I have to wait over a week then pay $75 for a pill I have taken for 6 years? I think it's a good idea*

To my knowledge, pharmacists are dispensers, not prescribers. What reassurance will the public have that they have achieved the same qualification nurse prescribers have, with the same minimum checks and balances? Also, if pharmacists are to give basic first aid advice on a more regular basis, will they at least display their up to date First Aid certificate.

Pharmacy student here. This seems like a good idea but two issues are not being addressed, firstly conflict of interest and second one is antimicrobial resistance especially trimethoprim after these trials have started.

In the US nurse practitioners can prescribe medication but out nurses are overworked as it is. Yes it would lessen the burden on an overworked system and also on people’s wallets if pharmacists could prescribe simple meds or at least issue repeats. Wish I didn’t have to go to immunologist for prescription medication that costs me $196 every 6 months for him to literally give me refills for spontaneous urticaria. Also paying $180 every 60 days for 20 mins for my adhd medication but I guess that’s not on the “uncomplicated” medications list.
