Depends, any music can be boring. The same person enthralled by classical music could find bosa nova boring or may puke on hip-hop. A lot of late 19th century classical music was indeed a repetition or vestige of 18th and 17th century evolution. And imagine all the classical music in Hollywood movies - a lot of it is template BORING!
Should’ve done a different work by Bach instead of the Toccata and Fugue, which is only attributed to him. Something like his Saint Johannes Passion would’ve been better.

that whole idea of 'going to the opera' was a genuinely life changing experience that could make or break some people. It was their chance to make connections outside of their social circle and meet people who were famous and wealthy, to make an impression on them and be noticed.

As a Kid my father often put on classical music in the car and got us to try and create stories based on the emotions we felt from the music. I like to think of that as one of the sparks to my creativity growing up

@@legrandliseurtri7495 I tend to prefer baroque period music more than say late romantic music. Some late romantic and impressionist I really can’t stand to listen to. There’s a whole bunch of genres and styles in classical as well. It spans more than a few hundred years, just like you wouldn’t say 50s jazz and 2000s pop is the same. Really depends on finding the style you like.

There can be boring classical music. But that can also be said for every genre of music.
There will always be boring artists with boring music, but there will also be a lot of greats.
I'd say every song has it's certain feeling to it, y'know? Some are meant to be calming, peaceful, tranquil. While others are meant to be be energetic, chaotic, and heat-pounding. As well as some bring a feeling of melancholy, rage, or bewilderment. That's the great thing about music, there's so much of it, that truly have different messages and meanings underneath their melodies and harmonies.
Compared to modern day music, it's a different beast, of course. With many songs all needing vocals to be played in tandem with their beats and melodic tracks. Which, some songs can have great beats, melodies, etc; but the lyrics will be god awful, which honestly is what puts me off from most music we have today. Only really finding music I like from games, anime, movies, or certain shows.
But classical music will always be on top

Something that a lot of people don't realize, is that classical music gets better and better the more you listen to it. The pieces in this playlist are very smartly selected, because they are more catchy than others, hence they appeal to newcomers, but as you dive into classical music more, you will understand the utter beauty of works like the Beethoven Quartets, the Bach Passions and Keyboard works, the Mozart Piano Concertos and so on. These pieces are like great books, you can truly lose yourself in them, only to find yourself in this process. It's so much more than mere entertainment, because it brings forward a truth that only music can reveal.

I personally like heavier music. Such as rock, grunge, and metal. However, I think classical music is probably some of the most of emotional music out there. I've played flute for the past 6 years and haven't really listened to classical until recently and it truly is quite amazing.
Stravinsky _Le Sacre du printemps_ , Bartok _The Miraculous Mandarin_ , Beethoven _5th Symphony_ , Sibelius _4th Symphony_ , Prokofiev _2nd Symphony_ , Varese _Amériques_ : haven't heard anything much heavier, and I am an old (often "extreme") metal fan, although I love many other things.

A friend of me, psychologist, said that almost everyone mainly listening to metal, especially the heavier subgenres, also enjoyed listening to classical music.
And many people that listened mainly to classical music did not like metal at all.

This appeared on my suggested for some reason so I gave it a listen. I was not disappointed! My older brother was a child prodigy who became a concert pianist. Sadly, he's gone now but this takes me back to when we were both young kids and he would be up early every morning practicing on the grand piano before school. I don't know how our parents managed to get that piano. I think it instilled a life-long love of classical music in me. A game we played is he would sit in another room, one of us would press a key on the piano and he would say what key it was. "Perfect pitch." I miss my older brother.

Classical can be so stuffy and old fashioned. I'm totally digging the theming on this channel, mixing of many composers, and exposure to different songs instead of the same old Nutcracker Suite, and songs in order of original publication. Keep doing what you're doing!
The first difference I've noticed with current popular or common music, is that classical music feels like its telling you a story only using melody, volume, and instruments in an inteligent way. It's such a different experience

A huge difference to pop music is that it's not repetitive, we've been having an issue with repetition in pop music for a really long time now, not just with current music either, even a bunch of 80's music is incredibly repetitive
It's not just classical music, basically any instrumental music tailored to accompany story beats or tells a story on its own works like this like soundtracks to movies, games and tv shows. They're all cool, they can help you spark up your creative side

Also, what people call "classical music" as an umbrella term encompasses so many subgenres (most of which aren't even technically classical). The difference between Baroque music like Bach, true classical music like Mozart, romantic music like Chopin, impressionist music like Debussy, and modernist music like Stravinsky, are so monumentally different that it's silly to put it all into a corner as "boring classical music." That's not to mention that even within those subgenres there are significant differences in style, like how Chopin and Beethoven are technically both romantic composers but have significantly different styles.

To do things that offer help to a world without it? Why does our modern music say little but say so much? Why is it so weak? Why is its message always of degeneracy and disgrace? Could it be the result of a fallen generation?
The Music of the Past gives the listener pride, gives him encouragement, gives him steadfastness, offers him growth and repair. Classical Music is the preservation of our ancestors, may we acknowledge that fully.

During free time in college, I would go to the library, pull a scorebook from the music stacks, and go to the record library where I would listen to the music while reading the score. Interesting thing about the cannons in "1812 Overture" (yes, there's a line in the score for them) is that they could only play trailing whole notes and all at the same pitch.

@@davidwise1302 I'm sure that's just a notational convention for percussion. They don't actually time the whole notes - that's just how the impulses are spaced. Also the pitch is most likely not standardized - some other unpitched percussion use pitches as well
Classical music objectively is never boring. You just evolve your character to like it or you stay in place. And once you learn how to listen to it, you can never stop

I honestly think that classic music has a certain charm on some individuals, call me a weirdo but in my example whenever I hear classic music, I picture myself adventuring in a dark and mysterious world, full of dangers but somehow fascinating.

Night Shyamalan movie, and a young-to-middle aged noble couple in a grand ballroom on a stormy night, with no sounds but the sounds of shoes against the floor as they dance a choreographed dance and the rain softly falling against the windowpane. No music is playing, but the music rings through both's ears as they dance the night away.

The opening song in this video immediately gave me vibes of a 19th century mascarade party, maybe one where Jack the Ripper is lurking about in the shadows nearby. I love music like this because it's fun, but can also have underlying tones of malevolence (at least in my mind) and for some reason I'm really drawn to the atmosphere of the dark rainy streets of cobblestone and gas lantern street lights, like in an old Sherlock Holmes story in Scotland or London.
I'm a Vietnamese people, people here don't very fond of classical music from Europe. But with me, I love it so much. Lying on bed and listening to this music dreaming about being a princess in a royal palace make me feel happy.

This may not be villain-themed, but it sure does help me with writing my thriller story.
Both my parents are classically trained musicians who play in orchestras so I've always grown up hearing a lot of classical music. As a young kid I hated being brought to their concerts because it bored me to death lol. But the older I get and the more musical skill I gain myself the more I enjoy it. I'm really grateful for my upbringing now because it's given me such a greater appreciation of classical music when I listen to it on my own. A lot of people who attend orchestras are older so I grew up thinking no one my age enjoyed it, but I'm glad to see people in the comments proving me wrong. Good music is truly timeless and ageless.

ive been a musician for 28 years, self taught (multiple instruments) mostly jazz fusion and funk...and to this very day, i dont only dislike classical music. i despise it from the bottom of my heart. (i respect it) but i can not stand it. dear god, this is the most boring, pretentious, bland dreck ive ever heard in my entire life. just a ceaseless cacophony of NOTHING. theres no rhythm, theres no beat, theres no discernable melodies. the 5 notes in billie jeans baseline have more "musicality" to it than all classical music ever composed. i know we are not supposed to say this out loud (cause it makes you sound like an unrefined simpleton) but i dont care. i havent experienced a single emotion EVER from classical music. i know its supposed conjure up fervent emotions with the build up and the cadence and the resolve and the pianissimo transitioning and cascading into a flurry of "whatever" pretentious nonsense but...i just cant get anything out of it. what its trying so hard to convey is simply not there. theres like rare sparks of a brilliant melody here and there (very far and few between. that bach minuet badinerie comes to mind) but other than that is just amorphous orchestral cookie cutter "every movie ever" soundtrack stuff...you heard one you heard them all. i even tried to get into it. i gave it a fair shot. on multiple occasions. and you know, im not some schmuck who doesnt know music. i appreciate a good chord progression, a flamboyant and complex chromatic solo, tension being built in inventive and unorthodox ways (and everything else that comes with music)...but this...is so....damn...BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (at the end of the day, maybe IM the idiot who doest "get it"...but then again...we live in a world where splats of paint on a canvas sell for millions of dollars while pretentious douchebags analyze and romanticize them and attribute properties and subtextual qualities to them that were never even there to begin with so...who knows ). there might be a reason why this music isnt around anymore (and the only people playing it are kids forced into "classical music theory/training"). its one of those things almost nobody really likes anymore but its always gonna be part of the curriculum

I never met a Khachaturian that I didn't like.
With a little experience, you can recognize that something was written by him even if you never heard it before. So it goes with a lot of the greats.
On the subject of Classical not being boring, today I recommend Haydn's London symphonies, Nos. 99-104. Check Amazon reviews so you get a highly acclaimed recording. Don't mess with Mr. In-Between. No, I'm not an Amazon salesman, just another disgusted customer. #SocializeAmazon
I find Haydn's earlier symphonies are generally less exciting, although they can range from funny to radical, and they're all original since he was one of the first, and fortunately he was brimming with creativity -- I mean 104 symphonies!, so he was the right guy at the right time. When you can sit back and also enjoy many of his earlier symphonies, you know you've gone full-bore Classical.

i really like that you put a specific separate image to every single piece. it adds a certain atmosphere, and it's much more exciting to listen while looking at these pictures. it's like looking at your version of what's happening. i will try to listen to every single playlist on your channel
I just don't get it when people ( especially some heavy metal fans that I know ) say they don't like classical music! I agree. We played the first one in orchestra this year and we all had to come up with a story for the song before we started playing, and we came up with something pretty similar to you lol! I loveeeee Waltz! It was so fun to play. I would recommend it if you are in an orchestra! it’s even more fun to play - like most classical music in my opinion :P

I can. I have adhd lol, so maybe it doesn't count. I wonder the same about people managing to study while listening to slow and calming music, those rae for sleeping for me (it's hard to sleep when ur brains in overdrive so I have to force it to listen to repetitive, boring sounds). Those don't hype me enough to want to study, it encourages me to sleep instead 💀

From the very first song, I knew this was going to be an amazing playlist. masquerade suite has a special place in my heart as this was the song that got me interested in classical music. growing up I did ballet with my sister, and I looked up to her so much. she was by far the best dancer in the whole academy, and the teacher expected very highly of me because I was her sister. It was a little bit stressful trying to meet those expectations, but I grew to love ballet. This song, waltz from masquerade suite, was a song my sister and her classmates danced to during the recital. I remember being in awe watching them practice. The dance captivated me and led me to also love the song. The way they swayed to the music, their facial expressions while dancing, the way their leotards floated in the air, it was all so beautiful to me. Although it was probably mediocre to the eyes of a professional, as a 6-year-old girl who looked up to her older sister, this was the most beautiful thing I've ever witnessed. From then on, I was obsessed with ballet. Later that day, I watched every ballet-related video I could find on TH-cam. Watching these new ballet moves I'd never seen before was so exciting. The way these professional dancers looked so flawless although their toes were all crooked and bruised from the hours of practice, the way their facial expressions never changed, smiling throughout the whole performance even though they were probably tired out of their minds. Although I quit ballet years ago to this day when I listen to classical music, it brings me back to the time of innocence, where in my eyes my older sister was almost like a queen to me, and I felt like I could never reach her (I don't know if that made sense). I am now 18 years old and my sister is 27. She is still someone I look up to the most, my number one inspiration, and my best friend. I still have that piece of myself when I was 6 years old, feeling like she is someone so high up that I could never reach her. She is my true inspiration, and I hope to accomplish at least HALF of the things she has accomplished.

moonlight sonata 3rd act will always send shivers down my spine. Especially when the pianist puts so much emphasize on the crescendo, and transitions from super fast to slow with no hesitation. Every piece I hear is so unique. The person here is so good, you can just feel the emotion.

Many of these pieces are even more exciting when you know what they are about. For ex, Scarbo is from a poem about a goblin that is terrorizing someone, spinning, shrinking, becoming gigantic, hazy, etc, then at the end disappears in a flick.

for those of you who don't know the composer of the first piece in this playlist is aram khachaturian who is a famous armenian composer. growing up i never liked my culture and was even ashamed of it because it wasnt "cool" and no one ever knew where i was from and i always had to explain. i dont know what i was thinking, listening to his music only further makes me realize i have nothing to be ashamed of.
I felt the same way growing up, but now that we are older we can appreciate all our culture has to offer ☺️ (and thanks for letting me know that it was an Armenian who composed that piece, I enjoy it even more now!)

Romantic era, Baroque era, and Classical era music is so heart-wrenchingly emotional. Sometimes as the violins billow I imagine my self on leviathan waves as a tempest brews around me, and the rapid cascades of piano notes are like snowflakes falling from the morose grey heavens. Elegant and agile as a fox in the morning mist, the flutes take sharp turns in my mind and ears and wake emotions I didn't know existed from their glacial slumber. In summary, thanks my guy this was a great playlist really enjoyed it.
