He was dropping WIDE OPEN PASES LEFT AND RIGHT what are people supposed to say??? He also led the NATION in drops coming out of college as well. That has nothing to do with Madden look at the rest of the rookies he was drafted with. He performed like a bust so until he at least performs like his fellow draft mates it is what it is 🤷🏾♂️. The criticism comes with the game it's part of the game as a first round pick. The QB can't depend on him for ANYTHING 🤷🏾♂️. AT ALL

He walked into a negative environment with HC BS as a rookie and it wasn't fair.
He has so much potential to be a great player but I think he's too much in his own head all the time. Having Harbaugh as his coach will really shape him up to hone his strengths. If he just works on his catching then he'll be a good player for us. Looking forward to how he grows year 2.
It's 90% coach. Ex. Lol at the 09 team. Tons of great players and norvie didn't do shit with them

Oh yea absolutely, a change of culture and winning mindset goes a long way in player development. Staley was a loser who always thought he was the smartest guy in the room. Jim is a players coach. I have no doubt in my mind Jim will bring out the best in QJ. @@ambermchugh9381

Terrel Owens did pretty well after a really slow start. At one point he was seen on the sideline crying because of his drops.
These guys are really young. It must be alot to adjust to. The cameras. The rules, the money. Crazy pressure. We need him to find his feet and I belive he will.
Quentin we appreciate you bro but please make sure you work on your catching we believe in you and believe that 2024 your going to turn it up

I'm in favor of QJ but he needs help on his catching technique from Harbaugh staff
Allen isn't going anywhere. QJ is a second year rookie. He needs to focus at the catch point and stop cradle catching. He has improved some. Don't get distracted with defensive contact and secure the ball.
I’d like to see QJ also work on his hustle/follow through at the end of routes. I think a lot of those deep drops happened because he slowed down and wasn’t expecting the ball to be thrown to him, so he turned his head and was surprised. I tell my daughter in basketball when you cut you do it hard with your hands up ready to catch the ball, even though your teammates don’t pass. YOU are responsible for yourself, so be prepared
We see a lot of receivers do that. They let off the gas and the passes land where they would’ve been if they kept the play going.

I still have hope for Quentin Johnston. As bad as his rookie year was, we've had other draft picks start out slow but then come into their own, i.e Melvin Gordon before he sabotaged his own career. We want QJ winning games for us. Let's hope he sheds the 'bust' label in his sophomore year. I'm excited to see how he develops
Jim will HELP & play QJ the correct way , unlike last years OC & HC didn't do ? Slants , I just keep on calling for , BUT , didn't see many at all ? And this is for the WHOLE team , but , for this kid , those SHOULD have been a big part of his game !

Problem was he wasn’t getting the ball enough in the beginning of the year like 1 target a game when mike was injured and when they relied on him more towards the end of the year there’s more pressure and not enough experience
It's easy to root for QJ, as he is a likable guy. . . But he needs to go to work on the jugs machine, work extra with Justin Herbert ... and read David Goggins book.
Don't judge a book by its cover. One season is not a career. He could easily have a big season next year.

What happened was he was not able to create separation early on and was used as primarily a JUMP BALL GUY. Quentin CANT CREATE SEPARATION, HAS LAZY EFFORT going up for passes and getting of the line of scrimmage AND HE CANT CATCH. He also led the NATION in drops passes coming out of college. Yeah so don't call REALITY negativity. If that's how your brain works you are simply out of touch with reality. What type of PRO CANT CATCH A WIDE OPEN PASS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN????? Not giving up on him just yet but this kid is not a natural catcher of the ball and Hebert couldn't depend on him for NOTHING. Lazy routes, WIDE OPEN drop after drop after drop, takes to long to build up his speed. He definitely deserves another shot but I'll believe it when I see it. Didnt even look like he was playing hard out there. Catching the ball with his body instead of hands after he said that wouldn't be an issue. Lets see you show up like the rest of the rookies your drafted next to.
