Matt is right about that it’s “baked into the slot” . It’s called a secondary option when a player hits the button and the RNG picks a losing spin. The secondary option was built in to make the game more exciting with “near misses” being selected not by the RNG but the program in the Slot. There used to be a law limiting that but that law went away once these 6 reel high volatile slots came on the casino floors. Here is a somewhat better explanation: Machines that used a secondary decision worked this way. The RNG was used to select from a pool consisting of particular winning combinations and "loser." If "loser" was chosen, the programming running the slot machine would then poll the RNG again to choose from a pool of losing combinations that favored exciting losing combinations over boring ones. Matt is right about that it’s “baked into the slot” . It’s called a secondary option when a player hits the button and the RNG picks a losing spin. The secondary option was built in to make the game more exciting with “near misses” being selected not by the RNG but the program in the Slot. There used to be a law limiting that but that law went away once these 6 reel high volatile slots came on the casino floors. Here is a somewhat better explanation: Machines that used a secondary decision worked this way. The RNG was used to select from a pool consisting of particular winning combinations and "loser." If "loser" was chosen, the programming running the slot machine would then poll the RNG again to choose from a pool of losing combinations that favored exciting losing combinations over boring ones.
