I'll quote you here: "This truck is not made to haul things this heavy." The Oshkosh is a heavy duty battlefield haulage & recovery tractor. If it can safely bring back any knocked out Abrams or allied MBT, it can haul a 43 ton piece of mining machinery. It's not that it can't do it, it isn't designed to do it at highway speeds. This thing is designed for off-road use only with small sections of road travel tossed in when and if required. I bet if you were to put the stock tires back on and drive without a trailer it would still only do about 50-55 mph.
Nicolas Murphy: It just annoys me when they try to equal the slow speed of something to its' inability to pull a heavy load. Not much thought goes into anything nowadays it seems. :/
kyle chojnowski: Look at the beginning of this video back to when he first got the load. At 4:43 it is at the very top of the list and says Milling Machine (43t). A real milling machine might be 147 tons, but this is ATS we're talking about. The heaviest load the game is designed to run, with recent content updates is 70 tons. This game wouldn't know what to do with 147 tons.
Bryan Castaneda considering an M1A2 Abrams is 65 tons and this beast could drag it like a grunt on a ruckrun I'm sure no civ equipment could weigh it down, hooah?
if by smooth you mean hit a bump in the road and the cab bounces up and down for the next 5 miles then yeah lol. Used to drive the fueler and flatbed versions of these in the Army
as an engineer for Oshkosh Defense, I love seeing our trucks in games!!! Hopefully someone builds a HET for this game because that beast would do work!!
I drove the HEMTT M984 and HET 1070 in the Army and Reserves, and also worked on them as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic with DOD. Yes, they are beasts. HET will pull a MIA2 like a 5 year old pulls a teddy.
It's nice to see that they put the M1120A4 but I wish they would have made it more realistic. But he has no reason to be worried, that truck can handle a 72 ton M1 abrams at 70 mph (without the governor) in Iraq, I believe a 43 ton trailer will be no problem.
CAPTAIN WELLS not entirely it's meant to be a multi purpose heavy duty truck for the military they do run over the road. They are used for moving heavy equipment and quadcons.
These beasts are designed to haul things. They usually have a governor to limit their speed at roughly 50-55 even down hill. And yes they are loud but not as bad as a Humvee.
I am not military, but I am an Arma 3 player, I have been with Arma 3 since it came out, and we use that same truck and we we both colors depending on the location, I have been on a map that was mostly desert but there were a few places that had a large amount of tree growth, so topically we use the tan for our main base because it is right in the middle of the desert area, and I had to send out a few green trucks and other vehicles to areas that had more trees, so it really depends on the location, personally I wish I had the option of making it both colors in a camouflage pattern,
Not sure if you'll get this but, that particular vehicle goes just about anywhere long haul or short and I've watched them pull up to an a1a2 Abrams. I was in a stryker ANd Bradley unit those are generally used as fuelers, mechanics, towing etc I don't know much that truck can't pull you have to understand it has 4 axles all within good range of one another. I've always been impressed by that vehicle and what all it can really do. Real life in Iraq and Afghan I've gone around 65-75 in a stryker and those kept up while towing a broken stryker plus a full size boom and some other things. Stryker are generally close to 40k the books around 9k-10k and I'm not sure how have the mechanics little box fold out thingy is but it's really damn, heavy too. So all, that and 75ish no problem.
The HEMTT definitely was designed too and performs best on a paved road. its for logistics and can go off road but ideally they would use roads when available. Infact they do that even for tanks. A good example is the military grid lock during the gulf war or desert storm when US army and marine vehicles including combat vehicles were stuck in a massive traffic jam on highways going into kuwait. It actually is kind of a odd sight to see.
No shit shurlock, i just like that they dont use weird fake names like other games do. that's all i was pointing out, no need for some smartass remark. let alone 2 smartass remarks.
I use the hemtt on ats and I love it only downfall is its 6 gear transmission tops out at 65 with a 60 ton load and with a 92000 pound load it struggles on the turning otherwise its damn good
I used to work fro a heavy haul company that used the M1070A0 HET that had the very similar traits, and one of the things I did being an engineer was tasked with making a sheet that showed what that rig could pull, with different amounts of weight on the kingpin. They were marginally better than a special built heavy haul rig, only because they had an 8x8 drive and higher axle rating. otherwise they were so slow they had to be trucked to jobs, but they cost way less
I actually drove one of those in the army.. real off road monster.. And no the cab is bolted to the chassis.. Its horrible for on road driving, especially when empty.
I half expected you to puch the window out. I've been playing and watching too much My Summer Car lately :) Incidentally, what do you use to record the game?
Hey love the footage but I have a question why does everybody want an 18speed tranny I drove 8, 10 and 13 speeds and they all pretty much did the job even in West Virginia but my favourite is the 13speed
thats the only thing that truck is made for dude.... any truck carrying a heavy isn't going to go fast its not made to go fast lol. Its made to haul. its impressive that they can haul that stuff really.
Apple Jack Gaming bull shit. Tanks have tracks and they tear the fuck outta the roads. APC's have tires. Please do research before you spread your "KNOWLEDGE" around TH-cam
the other day more like a week ago i saw a simi that wasnt running vary well i seen two simis that had thoes machine things but the simi that sounded like it came from the 80's was doing better than the brand new one the brand new simi could only go like a few miles a hour the other sime was going like 20 but that thing on there trailers probably weighs 115 tons but damn some piece of rusty shit
I have this truck. You put the stupidest fucking tires you oculd have put on it. Put normal LP22.5 tires on this thing and itt'l run an honest 65MPH with as much as you'd ever care to attach behind it.
I'll quote you here: "This truck is not made to haul things this heavy." The Oshkosh is a heavy duty battlefield haulage & recovery tractor. Slane583 agreed, I have this truck and love it
Nicolas Murphy: It just annoys me when they try to equal the slow speed of something to its' inability to pull a heavy load. Not much thought goes into anything nowadays it seems. :/
@slane583 the milling machine he is towing is 147 tonnes. not 43 ton piece of mining machinery.
kyle chojnowski: Look at the beginning of this video back to when he first got the load. At 4:43 it is at the very top of the list and says Milling Machine (43t). Slane583 that truck hual a tank in the military it is made to hual heavy things
I used to drive the HEMTT in the Army and loved driving it. It does have air suspension and is very smooth. It could pull that load no problem.
Spooky804 lol your right. I drove the wrecker version because I was a mechanic 👨🔧
Bryan Castaneda. God bless you all
Spooky804 lol yea it does, that was my baby in Campbell
as an engineer for Oshkosh Defense, I love seeing our trucks in games!!! Hopefully someone builds a HET for this game because that beast would do work!!
Blazinfire97 I am only a hour away from Oshkosh truck hope to stop by soon
I drove the HEMTT M984 and HET 1070 in the Army and Reserves, and also worked on them as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic with DOD. Yes, they are beasts. HET will pull a MIA2 like a 5 year old pulls a teddy.
most of these I've seen have detriots in them not cats?
nick smith the hemtt a4 now had a turbo cat diesel. Detroit was from the original generstions
Oshkosh are the best army truck
OMG...THATS A AWESOME TRUCK..I''M SO IN LOVE WITH THE TRUCK!!!!! They need to add that on off-road outlaws
Bro You deserve to have more subs! I’ve watched you for the past 5 years keep up the good work!
Can it pull? That that thing is a beast and will pull anything you throw at it
*throws the moon at it*
It's nice to see that they put the M1120A4 but I wish they would have made it more realistic. But he has no reason to be worried, that truck can handle a 72 ton M1 abrams at 70 mph (without the governor) in Iraq, I believe a 43 ton trailer will be no problem.
It's not made for speed it's made for power and pulling heavy loads off roads in deserts and bumpy terrain
CAPTAIN WELLS not entirely it's meant to be a multi purpose heavy duty truck for the military they do run over the road. They are used for moving heavy equipment and quadcons.
biohzrd1x1 yeah Iraq Afghanistan all need the power and off-road capability this truck has
biohzrd1x1 also I know like transporting a broke down Humvee or military vehicle I knew this already
They mostly run on roads when they can. its more designed to go on remote and poorly maintained unpaved roads.
I have always wanted to drive one
Your driving style fits GTA more than any Simulator, but I guess we all have our own ways of having fun :)
there is someone who drive like a f1 driver
These beasts are designed to haul things. They usually have a governor to limit their speed at roughly 50-55 even down hill.
And yes they are loud but not as bad as a Humvee.
Someone make sure this guy never gets a CDL
joey spillum 🤠
Awesome video 👍👍👍
I am not military, but I am an Arma 3 player, I have been with Arma 3 since it came out, and we use that same truck and we we both colors depending on the location, I have been on a map that was mostly desert but there were a few places that had a large amount of tree growth, so topically we use the tan for our main base because it is right in the middle of the desert area, and I had to send out a few green trucks and other vehicles to areas that had more trees, so it really depends on the location, personally I wish I had the option of making it both colors in a camouflage pattern,
That truck can haul all sorts of heavy stuff it pulled that no problem
I'm liking the American truck sim mods
I live in Oshkosh.. Its kinda crazy seeing these drive around town for their test drive..
It's definitely not a hot rode takes a while to get up to speed but just like most military vehicles they maintain speeds quite easily
It actually is kind of a odd sight to see.
the Oshkosh 8x8 can hull well over 60T off road and it is normally hulling broke tanks
Looks about the same on the inside as in real life😂
I drove the 10x10 "pls" version of the truck with a "frs" on the back of it.
Myka Mcclelland the beast
haha i live in Redding, i like how they use actual city names
Hunter Brown because it's an actual state in an actual country in an actual planet
No shit shurlock, i just like that they dont use weird fake names like other games do. that's all i was pointing out, no need for some smartass remark. let alone 2 smartass remarks.
Because they paid the actual rights, for the actual cities, in the actual states, on the actual not flat planet
I loved driving this offroad at ait
Trent Cooper same here
Oshkosh army truck is really cool, I live 1 1/2 hours away from Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Haha! Nice truck. I would like to make mods for ATS. I will try i think.
Thx for sharing.
I use the hemtt on ats and I love it only downfall is its 6 gear transmission tops out at 65 with a 60 ton load and with a 92000 pound load it struggles on the turning otherwise its damn good
500,000hp in this. Carry the heaviest trailer, up the hardest road!
OH and you should haul a tank with it
I used to work fro a heavy haul company that used the M1070A0 HET that had the very similar traits, and one of the things I did being an engineer was tasked with making a sheet that showed what that rig could pull, with different amounts of weight on the kingpin. That was my baby in the army...91b
I actually drove one of those in the army.. real off road monster..
And no the cab is bolted to the chassis.. Its horrible for on road driving, especially when empty.
not made for comfort
I drive the hemtt almost everyday and you would hold up traffic even without a load. The truck's top speed is around 55 mph.
James Schult Not when the governor shuts off! Was doing 70 with a light load.
That truck will easily pull it, it's meant to pull 60 ton tanks
My grandpa works for oshkosh truck and got inside of that truck and that looks like the real truck
where did the vides of like 2015 and 2015 of u, ar12, revision, and blackpantha I miss those
Thanks
I half expected you to puch the window out. I've been playing and watching too much My Summer Car lately :) Incidentally, what do you use to record the game?
It is made to pull even heviear loads but it's not built for speed there a beast
Hey you are the best youtuber ever you are fav and I got all my friends to sub to you #first here
I live in the city that they're made in and they are always runing down the highway
You have to go through the tightest curbs with it while clearing the longest trailer possible'
I'm thinking bout getting one irl
if you shift your self it would go alot faster and rpm builds up faster
I wish someone would make the Smokey and the bandit trucks
I live in Oshkosh where the trucks are made
Commentary on point am I right
Hey love the footage but I have a question why does everybody want an 18speed tranny I drove 8, 10 and 13 speeds and they all pretty much did the job even in West Virginia but my favourite is the 13speed
You can squat it 😂😂
TC, you should have taken the Military flatbed with the tank on it for this vehicle
You were shifting too early thats why it was getting to speed so slow
If he was in cab he could have seen the rpm gauge
First and I love your videos
Where do you find this in the steam workshop??
It was made for that heavy of a load
hey man, how's it going!?
thats the only thing that truck is made for dude.... any truck carrying a heavy isn't going to go fast its not made to go fast lol. Its made to haul. its impressive that they can haul that stuff really.
is there a Oshkosh M1070 mod?
First hi can u do pixel car racer it's fun
Looks like HEMMT in arma 3.
Thats because it is
0-60 in 1 second, off a cliff.
Hey! you're the guy who played Fuel!
I have reached all kinds of military vehicles
They carry tanks you know
tanks have tires so that they don't tear up the road
Apple Jack Gaming bull shit. Tanks have tracks and they tear the fuck outta the roads. APC's have tires. Please do research before you spread your "KNOWLEDGE" around TH-cam
rubber tracks are also a thing
And they tear the shit out of the road. Take it from someone who has driven a tank with both rubber and steel tracks.
Also, to be specific, you said "tanks have tires"
ok so i'm wrong sometimes don't hate me for it
the other day more like a week ago i saw a simi that wasnt running vary well i seen two simis that had thoes machine things but the simi that sounded like it came from the 80's was doing better than the brand new one the brand new simi could only go like a few miles a hour the other sime was going like 20 but that thing on there trailers probably weighs 115 tons but damn some piece of rusty shit
I was hoping I could find a link to the mod somewhere in the description/comments but haven't found one yet.
the cab support is basically non existent. its meant to be a free float cab. you feel every bump in that cab
FUCKIN HEMTT(hemitt for all you not in the know) MOTOBONER ACHIEVED
Researched
do they make this game for PS4 or is it another one console players are screwed out of?
dude its PC only
Yay!!!
You need a steering wheel man
ezar howard I think he has one he just doesn't use it. Who doesn't use a wheel for these type of games if you got one.
Im driving with a keyboard and a steering is better
You sounded like An Auctioneer
omg i so want the nose trucks in european truck simulator 2
It's made to pull two tanks at a time through rubble and sand and everything you throw at it your just under educated
it has a LOT of tourqe but not as much horsepower
Yeah thats the way you say redding
Is there a fix for the super right interior view? I have this truck and want to use it properly, but the interior view is basically unusable.
I have this truck. You put the stupidest fucking tires you oculd have put on it. Put normal LP22.5 tires on this thing and itt'l run an honest 65MPH with as much as you'd ever care to attach behind it.
Real life that thing is a pain in the a$$ to work on
Is this a mobile app or pc game
Outdoor Madness pc game

Where is the mod
The titles a joke right? (Unless your literally trying to pull a skyscraper off its foundation...) :3
You should stop jumping ahead man smh.

Has anyone been able to find this truck on the Steam Workshop because I can't find it
I cant find the truck can you send me the link to the mod pls?
