The tough part about starting to take angles and play independently is that at first you're just gonna feed. The skill requirement to play that way is much higher than playing "safe" stacked with team, but it's undeniably the correct way to play. Many players get discouraged because they keep dying, and may even start losing games more than usual but playing this way forces you to learn how to exploit cover properly and time your engagements properly. Basically, once you start playing strong angles you're forced to actually get good just to survive and not throw. It's a trial by fire but it's also a guaranteed ticket out of the lowest ranks if you can use cover well, time your attacks well, and use your cooldowns wisely while taking good angles. With Moira or Kiri you just have to fade/tp without hesitation as soon as things become unfavourable. Although the only way to learn how long you can safely stay on the angle for is to stay too long and get punished for it.
very well said and I 100% agree. additionally, i feel the best way to learn is to play characters that don’t have such “get out of jail free card” abilities, such as kiri tp, Moira fade, reaper fade, etc. it forces you to be more strict with your cover and angles and engagement timings so you can continue staying on that angle for longer. I’m an Ana player through and through and learning how to time my off angles is difficult compared to other characters since no wall climb or movement abilities, but it’s been more rewarding since i know strictly which angles to take, which positions, and timings of when to go. of course im not perfect at it and still learning, but it’s helped immensely.
You know the great thing? Since taking his advice and after the initial pain of feeding for a couple of days while I figured it out I have improved by 16% win rate this season 🫢 I am really excited about this and have climbed almost an entire rank since the coaching last week. 🤯
honestly just try and get people talking BEFORE things start to go wrong. if the first thing someone says all game is "swap off reinhardt f_____" then youre never gonna have a good time lol
Mhm. Moira has decent healing but not enough to justify her on its own, and no direct utility from her kit. She loves to be attacking squishies, because that's most of her value.

This is well said, and applies to doomfist or any hero rather not just moira. I been doing DF only on an alt and it's trial by fire but learning fast
