I have been waiting for such a good comparison between these scanners. Your presentation makes easier for users to take a better decision before investing. Thnx a lot
Thanks for this comparison! Could you also make a video about how to add colours/texture to a scan made with the handyscan black and which software is good to use for this purpose?
Hi Sebastian, that is a good idea as there are several software options and different processes to add color information to 3D scan data. We had had good success with Keyshot when wanting to do a rendering or animation. For other 3D applications, Z Brush, 3D Max and Maya work well.
@@EMS3D Thanks for your answer. Is it also possible to take a picture of the scanned Objekt and "lay" this on the scan data? Looking forward to a Video about this topic. You do a great job explaining the possibilities of the technology. I'm in the market for a HandyScan black.
@@EMS3D Hi, have you already taken into consideration to produce a video about this topic? What I´m most interested in is if there is any economically justifiable possibility to get texture information from images shot and postprocessed by a photographer (so that the colors meet the imagination of the customer) onto a 3d-scan of the same object. Would be great if you could explain the different options or the workaround you choose for this problem. Thanks a lot!
Why would you not tell us at least the price in USD? Thats a huge let down, its not a proper price comparison if you dont have at least a basepoint. Otherwise great video
Hi W1es, we don't mention pricing in videos because pricing tends to change over time, and it would date the video and may be incorrect at some point. Some Creaform products have gone up in price and some down based on a variety of factors. Also, we have a huge international audience and their pricing structure is different from ours in the USA and may include taxes, duties, tariffs, etc. I am happy to send you a one-page spec and price sheet for all the Creaform HandySCAN products. Just shoot us an email.
@@EMS3D No, that doesnt fly with the general audience, you are hiding the price because you cant be honest on the actual cost. You are actually losing revenue by doing so, if your product is as great as it is, then hiding a base price in dollars or euro is a poor choice. ALSO its solved by putting "when this video was made, price is subject to change over time" and that would simply be enough, so thats not a valid excuse in any means shape or form. After research and finding your price its no wonder really. Show some confidence instead in the future. We cost this much because we provide this value. Its not hard for a consumer to accept. Hiding it and forcing us to go look for a price in possibly a wrong currency mis-representing the actual price is way worse..do better

Our goal is to educate people on commercial 3D scanners and related software technologies. Glad you like it and we have many more videos in the works.
