Yeah, hi, a bulgarian here! There's actually a book with all of her predictions written down and while she has guess a good bit of history right, it's all due to logic and not to a mystical power. She was a really smart woman and also very religious, so a lot (if not all of them) were written off as god's gift. Nevertheless she's still a very interesting person!
I love baba Vanga but I hate how pop culture has treated her as this all knowing seer. She was smart and made predictions based on current events, some were close to truth, some were not. And a LOT of the "predictions" people say she said are just lies, many of them are things she never even said.

Lol I love how Simpsons apparently predicted metaverse. Except literally everything that was showed in that episode has been tropes of Sci-fi/Cyberpunk stories by people like William Gibson, and Philip K. Dick since back in like the 60's and 70's.

it’s so funny to see some of these so-called psychic’s predictions and conspiracies because they just don’t want to outright admit that capitalism is bad, so they come up with some insane conspiracy instead.

Conspiracies are based around using holes in a system for independent reasons. By reducing things to a conspiracy, they deflect that the holes in the system need to be fixed. Instead of fixing the system, the conspiracy must be defeated, then the problem is gone.
Problem is, even in their stupid mindset, there can just be another conspiracy that exploits the same weaknesses. They love that though, because apocalyptic or extreme Conspiracy Theories are fundamentally spiritual. The eternal battle is what they'd prefer to preventing a battle.

I'm 35 and I've never felt as much dread about the future as I do now. Politics is in huge need of a major change, the threat of climate change and a possible ww3 (which seems more certain than possible) are all weighing on me big time. My hope is in gen z and what they can do in the future

Every teenager hits an age window where they are old enough to recognize real life historical events being parodied on TV, but not old enough to know that animated shows that do that are usually designed to respond very quickly to current events as well. So the Simpson memes are in season once in a generation.

People say technology has been predicted all the time and it's because technology is often intuitive and it's created to solve a problem. People had problems communicating across long distances for the entirety of history before the phone or the internet was invented and popularized. Of course they'd imagine a world where they can solve that problem, and of course the solution they imagine is gonna be kinda similar to the real solution sometimes. I mean like star trek. Radios and TV existed while star trek was being aired because of course it did. It's not hard to imagine the similar technology to radio and TV being used for conveying information over long distances. Yeah it predicted the phone because their idea of a phone was either a small radio or a small computer and it's really not hard to imagine technology that exists getting smaller and faster

The movie “The Matrix” was about sentient machines plugging humans into a metaverse, the Matrix, unbeknownst to humanity. Have these people never seen The Matrix? It came out 11 years before that Simpsons episode. And I was born in the 80s. I’ve seen the metaverse trope in science fiction numerous times throughout my lifetime.
