I'll make my own hatchet & axe out of AR500 Armour steel.
I make swords & knives now for the past 7 years.
Have a SOG hatchet , it's OK, but the steel used is soft for my liking.
It needs to be sharpened quite often, like every other time when used.

My first hatchet purchased for camping/bushcraft was the Schrade scaxe2. Terrible hatchet. Used it a handful of times and the hollowed out handle (used to store the ferro rod) started to break on me. Went with Hultafors after and never looked back.

All of these are nice, but IMO, JXE JXO hatchet is all you need 👌🏽
