Loved this video, Colin. These are really good! I feel like my ears are definitely improving and I am also getting better at noting the subtleties of different overdrive sounds. Looking forward to Part 3!!
Now THESE sound much more different from each other than in the first video--at least to me. There's such a shift in both the midrange focus and how mushy the harmonic structures become after getting dirty. Something like this helps with matching a pedal's sonic characteristics to what we have in hand--which is an art and a matter of taste, of course. With the first video, I felt as if price and features would be more deciding factors among the choices, at the expense of sonic differences. P.S.: I was way off on the quiz, so what do I really know, anyway? 😂
