Hi, Shelby! Looking forward to lots of recommendations and hearing about books that you fall in love with over the course of the year! From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard!
Welcome to Booktube! I may not be a fan of fantasy or romance (though I am willing to explore fantasy if it intrigues me enough), but I really like you, your personality, your determination, and what you want to do with your channel. I was immediately wondering what books would you like to adapt into film, fiction or nonfiction? Also, what books would you like to RE-ADAPT into film if you were able? Are you into playing the role of a casting director the way that my friend is, even though he is not so much into the filmmaking. I enjoy finding peaceful places to read as well and can often remember the time and place in which I just found a nice place to sit down and read a book. Today, I went to a cafe and read a short work and started a graphic novel. Thank you for sharing and I am looking forward to seeing what you have in store! -Josh
Thank you so much!! I definitely want to make fiction books into films but working on a biopic would be cool! hmmm as far as readaptations I would love to redo the to all the boys I've loved before trilogy. I think the last two films were VERY different from the books. I haven't looked into casting but to could be fun!
I meant which films would you like to adapt, as in which fiction books and, if applicable, which nonfiction books? I have heard of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, but since I have no idea about its premise, you would be a much better judge. It is interesting to just wonder who you would like to play each character in a particular book in a possible adaptation.
Welcome to BookTube Shelby. Film background that sounds like fun. This month I'm hosting a film fiction and non-fiction reading event Filmtastic February. I've put a playlist with recommendations and the announcement video on my channel page. Currently I'm reading Josephine Baker's biography. She did also a couple films. But I'm also reading some film related fiction at the moment. Do you also like to read about people in the film industry (fiction and/or non-fiction)? I also read in bed on my e-reader. And I like to read on the balcony when the weather is nice.
@@Shelbysshelves For non-fiction I can recommend 'Women Filmmakers in Early Hollywood' by Karen Ward Mahar. For fiction I recently read 'Boy Wonder' by James Robert Baker. That's a satire on Hollywood. I liked both very much. I will be putting up my reviews of those later this month.
would you ever make videos about film on its own? 👀 i'm alwaysss looking for new stuff to watch, the more obscure the better! esp stuff by woman directors or old creepy movies 🖤
I have for my film classes back in college but haven’t made anything since! I’ve worked on some shorts so I was apart of them but didn’t film or edit them myself
