I have climbed from Diamond 1 to Diamond 4 and my biggest tip is don't pick "fair" fights, try to find off angles on your opponent which means you don't have to strafe until the enemy turns around. Furthermore strafing has to be the second most important type aside from my don't pick "fair" fights if you can make your opponent even miss 1 burst this means you will essentially always will the fight as long as you don't miss your bursts. Hope this helps :)
I've been in so many situations where I get the first two bursts or shots or couple seconds of damage, and get melted once they react anyways. I'm playing MnK and it seems like something is off as it's not like that in other PVP games I play. For example it seems like with AR, if you hold down the trigger for longer than 2 seconds, the bullets stop connecting because of bloom. What's the cadence to tap fire this weapon? Short bursts like a pistol shot or hold it down just until the bloom kicks in?

As an Onyx player, I highly recommend training your Battle Rifle in bot matches. The BR is the best weapon in the game and is extremely useful as you start with the BR in Ranked mode. Use academy mode and set the bots to Spartan difficulty. Then turn on God mode so you can’t die. Practice killing each bot in 4 BR shots for the “perfect” medal. Make sure to practice your strafe and make it unpredictable.
I think god mode is better for improving aim as it wastes less time dying- but long term it may pay to have it off to encourage survival mechanics such as escapes, utility use, cover jiggling, & defensive play in general. I suppose it comes down to what you want to focus on. What's surprising me is the stark contrast of controller sens settings- usually a consensus starts to build, like in Fortnite most controller players stick to linear, 40-50%, minimal dead zones before drift & no acceleration/boosting/etc- then again, FN aim assist is much weaker & only slows down, doesn't follow the enemy & has much more verticality. Right now in Halo Infinite though, you'll look at 4 pros settings & 4 incredibly different, often opposing results. What I do know is that I like Linear in FN, but the lack of mappable buttons on controller makes transitioning too hard(if I could map the back buttons on my razer ultimate as keybinds, while leaving the rest as default, it would be a different story). Halo Infinite seems to lack a linear option, no matter what I do, it seems there's always some form of acceleration or exponentional increase in movement, making tracking feel rather inconsistent.
I've just started doing that and am noticing improvements in duels, especially against high Diamond and Onyx players. I mean shit I murdered bots in CSGO to improve my aim so shit, comes naturally.
I agree but keep god mode off, it’s important to be able to duel under pressure and it pushes you to play smart if you’ve just won an engagement but you’re weak and another bot/player comes up on you.
#1) Stick with your team, BUT maintain social distance to avoid giving enemies an easy multi-kill with a lucky grenade. #2) PLAY THE OBJECTIVE You don't need to be the one grabbing the oddball or a flag, DON'T just sit on the sides trying to score kills. Sometimes it can be helpful but in most cases you're much more helpful to your team simply acting as a hurdle to the enemies trying to kill the teammate of yours that's scoring the points. #3 This isn't COD, kills aren't instant but can feel instant if you're lone wolfing it or putting yourself in a bad position. If you're dying quickly STOP, try a different approach OR determine if your team could benefit more from you pursuing a different objective. You'll live longer, get more kills ANDDDD you're actually going to be helpful to your team that way. Even if you're solo a single considerate teammate can help sway a battle back from the brink of defeat against a party of players on the other team simply because partied players are used to fighting unorganized unthinking opponents who just run into their deaths. If you're considering your team's objective, where your teammates are and what your team is lacking/missing from their composition: a considerate solo player can change the entire dynamic of a battle by playing the way your team needs you to even if you're not all communicating.
Nice video, if you do another one of these I would recommend going deeper into how objectives work, as it seems alot of new or returning players are struggling with them. Like remember that contested strongholds don't score, or that you're not revealed with the flag unless you sprint and etc.
For anyone trying to dial in their stick feels, make sure to disable steam input in the game settings in your steam library. If you have an elite controller try the delayed sens curve and lower dead zones for your right stick and the aggressive curve and 0 deadzone/lower threshold for your left. Feels much more like old halo and the inner stick gets more resolution
Alternatively you can just set your steam input deadzones to zero for the same effect. This is useful if you need the steam input if you are using a ds4 or dual sense etc.
One thing I never hear people mention in these beginner guides is to learn how to avoid nade damage. By thinking 5 seconds ahead, or moving around a corner/behind a pedestal you can easily avoid grenade damage. Think "what would I do if I was my opponent" many times the answer is nade... So pre-emptively move away from easily naded areas when being engaged by enemies, often if you think where the nades tend to bounce, you can know what area of the room/corner you can go to to avoid the nade damage. Also try not to sprint around corners if an enemy can be there as they will always get the first shot off on you.
This is helpful, I’m against the norm and using mnk over controller in Halo, I’ve been on controller a lot longer than mnk so it’s a challenge but very rewarding
For aiming I had to turn sensitivity down, but I cranked look acceleration all the way up to allow me to turn faster when I fully push my stick in a direction. So if I’m being shot from the side or behind I can still rotate quickly enough to fight back.

My best tip is find the sensitivity that feels best to you as an individual. Regardless of what settings your favourite pro uses, you have to make sure it’s right for you. I had mine way to high first couple of days for me, soon as I dropped it I started hitting consistent 4 shots and hit onyx, dropped it again a bit as it still wasn’t as good as I was in H2/H3 and now I’m at look acceleration 5 with vertical and horizontal sens at 2.5 and I don’t miss. Not saying this is right for everybody, but it works for me
My good friend who's onyx has this setup but I always thought it was probably too slow but he averages no lower than 50% accuracy a game even when he hasn't played well
I love that camouflage makes you actually invisible. So many goofy times watching the entire enemy team walk past me so I can back smack them all when they meet my team
He makes the marker or up on dpad sound more useful than it is. He said it's the most useful communication method. Well it doesn't tell how many enemies are there, how much damage they've taken or what direction their traveling. A headset does. I still don't understand why people play ranked at diamond level or high and aren't using a headset.
Something I can’t figure out is the relationship between strafing to make yourself a more difficult target and left stick aiming. Imagine the opponent is stationary, I would mean you stand still as well? That doesn’t make sense. Then you would still strafeand aim with the right stick?
I also love the ping feature. I binded it to one of my paddles on the back of my controller and now i can easily mark while shooting without effecting my aim :) I get extra points for mark assists and shot caller medals as well, my other back paddle is equipment

Great vid BBK. This is a game where knowing a lot of the little things really adds up at the end of the day. Right now, I really gotta learn how to use some of those newer weapons - taking a lot of deaths firing off guns that I fail to understand right now haha
I am having so much trouble hitting people strafing. I use keyboard and mouse and once we both get into the strafe dance I can't hold my crosshair on them reliably anymore. I turned down my sensitivity and it's still very difficult. It's like I can't react fast enough to the strafing motions. I ended up switching to controller for a while and it's actually worked out really well. I really wanted to play on keyboard and mouse but unfortunately the slight pull on the crosshair a controller gives helps out a lot in strafe fights. I really want to switch back to KBM though, it's just so much harder to aim.
Would you say dynamic mode for audio or compressed mode? I tend to keep jumping back and forth to find one which is actually better. I lean more towards Compressed, bc even though its very faint, I can hear footsteps from the enemy better than dynamic.
The spike grenade is exactly the same as it was in Halo 3 tho. The only change is that it has a true timer on it instead of requiring it to be stuck before it explodes.
5:15 Wow, thanks. Didn't know ping system exists. I'm still involuntarily spamming Q key to ping since I played Back 4 Blood a lot before Halo Infinite dropped.
I get the strafe concept but is anyone else having a really hard time making minor movements to the reticle? I feel like I barely tap it and it goes flying past the target. I've turned look acceleration down to zero and still feel like I'm over aiming.
I don't get this thing of setting a yellow color for enemies on FPS games. For me it makes them harder to see, specially near some yellowish objects or bright surfaces.
Haven't properly played any FPS since probably Halo Reach on the 360, where I mainly played Infection with a little SWAT & grifball & ocassional Slayer/FFA(it's all 4+ team games right now...) I feel pretty proud that I was able to reach Platinum as my starting rank in the crossplay lobby using KB&M. To be fair, I have played a lot of Fortnite, while not an FPS, is still a shooter. I played around with my controller & it is absolutely 100% better for ranked & I may switch to it because the BR is undeniably significantly better with aim assist- but controller isn't perfect, it feels much weaker with melee, grenades, at certain ranges, with certain weapons & especially most power weapons- that said, ranked is based around the BR which benefits the most from aim assist IMO, it's signficiantly easier to land those 4 burst kills- you even watch a pro KB&M player & they look no better than a merely decent controller player with that weapon. I think the ideal 4 person team is 3 controller players & 1 KB&M for the power weapons & long-range support.
speaking of the grappleshot am i the only one that thinks it should be buffed a bit with the range along with the repulser? i kinda feel like you have to be a little too up close and personal in order to use them, especially the repulser. i think 343 should buff them both a bit with more range
Watch your replays/gameplay back, count how many power weapon/power ups your team controlled compared to the enemy team, pay attention to how often you used pings to communicate to your teammates where opponents were, make sure you slay before pulling flag, and be objective in watching back your gameplay, look for any easy mistakes that can be easily resolved, such as giving up map control when you had height, power weapons, etc.
Does anyone know why I get taken out of ADS when using the BR75 Battle Rifle. When I ads with it and shoot, the second I start to receive damage from the opponent I get taken out of ads.
@@BBKDRAGOON but its only happening with that gun. Does it just automatically happen with that gun or do you have to do something special to make the opponent stop ads'?

Just went on a bad losing streak with my solo duo partner. Dropped from 90% to 60% of the way through Diamond 5 after losing 10/13 games ughhhhh My partner and I were consistently top 2 of our team too, but we kept getting horrible teammates 🙃🙃🙃 Hopefully the next session isnt as unlucky...
Slow your sens down a bit bro, it’s all about tracking, your also on m&k, so even if your sens is slower your gonna be able to control the speed pretty easy
I think there's something wrong w/ ranked. I got placed in platinum 6 and made max rank In a couple games, against people who've probably never played the game in their life, because I kept wiping the floor with them. The recon helm i got is pretty cool tho.
I thought the spike grenades seemed the same to me. Didn't they stick to things in Halo 3 as well? Or are you just saying you think they're better this time? lol
I think the body outlines should appear only when you would also be seen on the enemy radar. It's Halo yes but it would be great to have the option to try the stealth approach in BTB.
First thing 343 needs to do is remove power weapons (I.e., rocket launcher, energy sword) from ranked playlist. Secondly, there is a pretty significant bug where you will randomly zoom out of ads during a gunfight (I am not talking about when receiving damage, as ads will spontaneously zoom out on its own). Lastly, there needs to be a larger sense of impact when receiving damage. Unless you’re blatantly staring at your shield/health bar, which is not something you’d wanna prioritize during a gunfight, you often won’t know you’re taking damage until you’re one burst away from dying.
I still don’t understand why the dev team decided to go with having the Rocket Launcher called a “Spanker” in this game. It’s weird every time I hear it announced.

Any tips for us MnK players 🥺
Switch to controller

Really helpful video!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
Does anyone know why I get taken out of ADS when using the BR75 Battle Rifle. When I ads with it and shoot, the second I start to receive damage from the opponent I get taken out of ads.
that is a feature in halo called de-scope, when you are zoomed in and take damage it pushes you out of the scope
@@BBKDRAGOON but its only happening with that gun.
Does it just automatically happen with that gun or do you have to do something special to make the opponent stop ads'?
@@robato3991 descoping only happens for scoped weapon’s, this has been a thing for the series since 2001, no scoped weapon’s just have a regular zoom with no accuracy buffs, so i wouldn’t treat it like ads
Scopes aka battle rifle commando and sniper rifle for example will knock you out of the sight if you take damage. That's also the counter to people trying to snipe you
@@anthonychase6906 So when I use those weapons and shoot an enemy first before they shoot me, will I have made them de scope?
Is it weird if you win a ranked match and it lowers you back to diamond 3?
Just went on a bad losing streak with my solo duo partner. Dropped from 90% to 60% of the way through Diamond 5 after losing 10/13 games ughhhhh
My partner and I were consistently top 2 of our team too, but we kept getting horrible teammates 🙃🙃🙃
Hopefully the next session isnt as unlucky...
Any tips for maintaining good aim with a mouse? My aim is bad vs hyper mobile opponents
Slow your sens down a bit bro, it’s all about tracking, your also on m&k, so even if your sens is slower your gonna be able to control the speed pretty easy
I found that putting the max input threshold helps
Do you think they will bring jet pack to infinite like it was in reach?
They have it as equipment. Where it belongs
Improve your aim by switching to controller. It worked for me.
I bound my ping to my left click so when i shoot i automatically ping people
I think there's something wrong w/ ranked.
Or are you just saying you think they're better this time? lol
They will automatically track the enemies near them if they don't stick to an enemy. So if an enemy is near a spike they WILL BE hit.
the pings for pointing out enemy spartans and objectives isnt new to infinite it was in guardians as well.
Any tips for playing against the "flood" of cheaters?
Where’s the game mode selection and swat?
I think the body outlines should appear only when you would also be seen on the enemy radar. It's Halo yes but it would be great to have the option to try the stealth approach in BTB.
I'm glad you have nothing to do with this game
@@TrevorIsCommenting I'm glad you like everyone in bright neon colors.
@@burddog0792 go play warzone with milsim and hide in a bush lmao no bright colors there
I tried the color change and I just need to see red tbh. I gotta train my eyes

Use your mic, communication is key. Unfortunately it's pretty rare finding someone with a mic
Pls make a video about your settings

Does this game has motion aiming?
First thing 343 needs to do is remove power weapons (I.e., rocket launcher, energy sword) from ranked playlist. Secondly, there is a pretty significant bug where you will randomly zoom out of ads during a gunfight (I am not talking about when receiving damage, as ads will spontaneously zoom out on its own). Lastly, there needs to be a larger sense of impact when receiving damage. Unless you’re blatantly staring at your shield/health bar, which is not something you’d wanna prioritize during a gunfight, you often won’t know you’re taking damage until you’re one burst away from dying.
Power weapons are a fundamental part of Halo? The whole comp strategy revolves around playing for power weapons lol
U can use the grapple chit to hook onto an enemy and jab them and it’s an instant kill
Is there no pro player with mouse and keyboard?
I wish infinite showed if an opponent is above or below you on radar like previous halo titles.
Not hard to deduce if they're above or below lol
H2 someone made a program for spawn timers us hardcore players used.
I can’t hear footsteps even with my Astros 😂
Yeah the audio is very spotty, hope they fix that soon because bad audio in FPS's can really make things frustrating
0:21 i am now freddy mercury
calling out who you died by in a pro match is huge, it lets the person know who they are expecting to fight against and their play style.
Anyone else watching this video, knowing damn well you already know everything in the video, because it’s bbk
Thank you, much appreciated 😀
I end up dumping an entire clip into someone only to melee kill. Is the only way I can ever get a kill. I'm actually surprised if I get a gun kill
I still don’t understand why the dev team decided to go with having the Rocket Launcher called a “Spanker” in this game.
It’s weird every time I hear it announced.
The rocket launcher in Halo has had the letters SPNKr on the side since 2001.
Thanks for the tips! How do you get your enemies to glow bright yellow?! I need this please😂
Go to Ui settings and if you go all the way down you should see the colors you can change for your enemy and teammates
I swear, I hope hackers don't ruin this game.
