Fun fact. there is no confirmation anywhere that the snake in Eden was Satan. In fact, in the past it was thought to be Lilith. This is why in a lot of art the snake is portrayed to be a woman.
@@expertoflizardcorrugation3967 who the heck is Lilith? dude literally the Bible tells you straight up it was Satan controlling that snake. I'dk where you got this information
@@hirotashi5950... except for that it has never said that at any point. Lilith is most specifically referred to in Jewish mythology, but they are often referred to as the first wife of Adam. Leaving Eden after refusing to be subservient to Adam. also seen as a profoundly evil figure, but neither are confirmed to have been the snake of Eden either way. If you want to use Mythology as a justification for the unjustified hatred of snakes I can easily just say the following. The snake was punished was it not? Cursed to crawl on its belly evermore? punished to lay eggs. And if the snake was indeed controlled by any outside force then A- it wasn't the snake that did anything B- The snake got cursed for no reason.
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran I'm aware of those stories; they just didn't seem relevant, so I didn't care to bring them up. I just like Trivia. Religious texts are great for trivia because A- there's loads of it and B- people actually care about it. Most of the world follows one religion or another(some variant of catholicism or Islam mostly) and some of them are really invested in their texts, and it's fun to see how they react to new interesting info. Btw maybe I'm mistaken, but I was always under the impression that it was Yahweh as opposed to Yehwah, but I guess either could be as If memory serves the original translation was JHVH which was later corrected to YHWH.
@@expertoflizardcorrugation3967 Idk man but all of the 5 Bibles and adjacent texts I've read, including Catechisms pretty clearly imply it was Satan, even the Talmud etc. I've also never read any implications that it would have been Lilith. Lilith is an Owl dude. Not a snake. She has never, as far back as is visible, been a serpent. She was around long before the Bible and was a Screech Owl. She was never associated with snakes. Satan was. It's borderline integral to the Abrahamic religions' theology and creation myths that it was Satan. Absence of explicit confirmation isn't really a thing that matters in theology given that it's expressly metaphysical and metaphorical. Since the birth of Christ and long before did Abrahamic followers consider serpents evil and manifestations of the "Big Bad" whatever incarnation that sect had as the Big Chungus of Bad Dudes, they likened to a snake. Lilith is apocryphal at this point as well. Insofar as Christianity is concerned, she may as well have never even existed and isn't canonical to their telling of Eden. Even in Judaism we don't really even talk about her possible existence. She never shows up except in reference to older creation myths, and isn't even told as his wife anymore. She's the She-Demon. The primordial first. Lilith actually pretty much only exists in the Talmud. Making her an explicitly Jewish aspect. She's not in the Tanakh. And in the Tanakh it's pretty clearly Satan that takes the form of a serpent. In the Talmud Lilith is either a she-demon, or Adam's first wife, expelled for her evil and turned into a demon off-screen. Lilith being the serpent has never been even a credible belief to theologians as far back as you can go. She was either a demon from the start, or was Adam's first wife, expelled for sin and turned demon. She's never implied to have returned to Eden because the Big Cheese Upstairs expressly made it impossible.
My family owned a Burmese when I was little. His name was Harley. Around the time I was first born, he was put in my crib and just curled around me (not tight, just wanted to be friends). As I got older, I liked to sit and watch him. Such a cool snake. We had to give him away when I was about 8 or 9. He was getting too big and we couldn't afford a bigger case for him. We gave him to a lady that owned a big animal farm. I hope he had the adventure of a lifetime there. Edit: I would appreciate if people leave my parents alone, please. I just wanted to share a story and I am STILL getting responses from a comment I made months ago that I have mostly forgotten about. Harley was a good snake and I will forever talk highly about him. Kindly take your opinions about my parents elsewhere.
@@Ymiriel I was about 8 or 9 when that happened, so I'm not entirely sure, but I know my parents would want him to go somewhere nice, so I'm sure it was an actual farm
I feel like all snakes are friendly when you get used to them. I once caught a wild snake, petted it for a few minutes, then it chilled down, and it would just slither around in my hand.
They probably just dont want poison in their veins...or....wrapped around losing all strengths they have and get eaten slowly Just....giving you my perspective of things.... I dont hate them, at all....this is one of the reason being Just afraid..... Because i dont know how to be friendly with it without trying.... But if i try i could get some unwanted things And since i'm shaky and anxious of failing in trying new things...i dont want to risk it I have petted one in a zoo though! Had a moment of relief It did wrapped around me which triggered my scaredy cat flight mode How do any of y'all get comfotable around it and not have any fear of being its prey? I know that "if it doesnt think you're trying to kill it, it wont hurt you" (by friend). But i feel like every wild animal will initiate defense mode once you're even existing around them...
Short of an anaconda no other snake is large enough to even attempt to eat you. As for venomous snakes you wouldn't randomly pet one that's owned unless the owner is completely inept. Your fears are justifiable but nothing you need to worry about. Although don't let larger constrictors near your near unless you 1.) Know the snake well 2.) Have it's handler near by. But again you'd never need to worry about anything but maybe a bit if you made it mad. At worst a stitch or two. But they are to small to deal a lot of damage
@@GengUpinIpin Umm, hope this fact helps, but the largest snake in the world couldn’t eat a adult human even if it wanted to. They are simply not big enough. And also, for most animals, humans are skin and bone and eating you isnt worth it.

DevilGearHill nah, some snakes are even going to slither to you, mainly for warmth but they enjoy being around humans, heck my roaches are more or less tolerating me and you tells me that snakes cannot be domesticated?
they very much can and do! i had a columbian red tail boa that, without a single doubt, loved me as much as i loved him and was very friendly to anyone brave enough to give him a chance ( if he sensed someone was uncomfortable with him, he stretched out to come back to me ). he changed a lot of minds and hearts and i miss him every single day.
@@NPClownumber81googolplex yea and animal planet likes to portray snakes as vicious creatures that should only be handled by professionals 🤣 not everything you read on google or see on tv is true, my friend.
@@NPClownumber81googolplex if that is all it is, being considered a "good environment" is quite the compliment! it means they felt safe with me. they were relaxed and comfortable and trusted me. that's the ideal for any home, isn't it? but i definitely feel it's not as simple as that. they certainly weren't just "snakes" to me. like the boa i mentioned above definitely showed signs of separation anxiety whenever i'd be gone for a while. a few hours or even overnight was ok. but anything longer than that, he'd escape his tank ( which he never tried to do otherwise and it would've been easy for him as he was quite a big boy at 7.5 feet long ) and i'd usually find him either in my clothes on the floor, under the covers of my bed, or even under my bed on the side where i slept ( nearest the wall ). his enclosure was the warmest spot in my room as i preferred to keep it cold, so it wasn't a matter of seeking heat. and when i'd come home and find him in any of his spots, he always appeared genuinely excited to see me. would do what i called his "happy wiggle" in his haste to get around my shoulders. but something to keep in mind is that i handled him a lot. i had him out of his tank more than he was in it. i'm a firm believer that no animal deserves to live its life in a cage and my snakes were no exception. but he and i definitely had a rare bond, one that i haven't been able to find or replicate with any of my other snakes despite giving them the same attention ( i've only had one snake at a time ). all of my snakes were docile, they've never bitten me or anyone else nor have they ever shown signs of aggression, but they certainly had their personalities. for instance, my female boa ( the largest at 13 feet ) was extremely social and loved meeting new people even when they weren't particularly excited to meet her 🤣 she was also very energetic and loved to get into any and everything, which made her a handful to keep up with at times. she'd get fussy if i put her back in her tank too soon ( usually to clean up a mess she made, such as knocking things off of shelves and other surfaces, before she could make another one ) or before she was ready to be put back, "huffing" at me and sulking. another boy ( python this time ) liked his alone time in his tank. he'd let me reach in to pet him but would get tense if i tried picking him up ( which i would ignore if his tank needed cleaning or to give him a bath--- yes, i ""bathed"" my snakes, giving them time to "swim" around in the tub ). i'd have to leave his tank open for him to come out and he'd then slither his way to me for attention, usually to coil up in my lap or get himself tangled in my hair ( he was my smallest at 5 feet long but it still wasn't as fun for me as it was for him lol ). i hope this answered your question! 😁
@@gabberz9284 well if you had your own place in the future you could get your own corn snake in the mean time you can use what time you have whilst waiting for that opportunity with all the research you can gather so once you do get a corn snake you can give it the best life it could possibly have! ^^ just saying that cause I hear a lot of people just take in pets and dont do proper research to give it the best life... which I bet thats what happened during lockdown cause of covid, I've heard so many people who are staying at home just buy pets to keep them company and as soon as restrictions loosen up those people start to neglect or even give away those pets cause they didnt research to figure out if getting a pet was the right choice or not
@Lersky Tewhi Eh, if you've ever looked and held a baby ball python in person they literally look like a noodle with a puppy head, arguably even cuter.
to all the people who think snakes are incapable of being pets or being good pets: as long as a snake is well fed, well conditiond, and well kept, it will be a fine and good pet. it won't strike or bite you unless you 1. don't feed it enough and it's forced to take anything it can get at that point (poor feeding) 2. You never interact with it and now it thinks that you always have food or are always the food giver (poor conditioning) 3. You keep it in bad and stressful conditions and now it's striking out of fear and stress and such (poor maintaining) when you think about it, it's simpler to having a dog. it's just got different items and extra care bits. so yeah, snakes aren't invalid or bad pets. You just need to make sure they are well cared for and they'll be perfectly fine
@xSilver it would have to depend on what your interactions with the snake when you are with it are for it to be scared. for example, it would get scared of you and bite out of fear if whenever your around it you mistreat or abuse it. THEN it would strike out of FEAR. But if you DON'T mistreat or abuse it and simply just give it food and leave it alone the rest of the time, then it will strike you simply because it thinks you have food. that intense isn't a fear strike, it's just a hunger strike because it associates you with food
@@binguszsundusz2970 if you mean like an unintentional bite, that may also possibly occur if the snake is still in "hunger mode" or basically still in feeding mode after you feed it. it may try to bite you thinking your more food. but that really only happens if the snake JUST ATE and you try to maybe handle it. not EVERY snake dose that, but quite a bit do. sometimes even very well behaved and well conditioned snakes might try to bite their owners if they are still in hunger mode. this DOESNT mean the snake hates you, it just thinks your more food at the current moment. it calms down after a small while of course though
@@binguszsundusz2970 though another factor to keep in mind though is the personality of the snake itself too (yes, snakes DO have personalies) some are calmer then others and some are more feisty. some may also be smarter then others too and some just don't understand and we'll as others. and other factors too. so try to learn what type of personality the snake possesses too

Stephanie Giovanna The reason comenters are "snake expert" is because they love snakes and they watch this video, they dont suddenly become a "Expert". They already know this animal well.
I literally hate the people in the comments saying that snakes can't love you. Okay? Yeah their brain doesn't produce the 'love chemical' but you know what?? By that logic, they can't feel pain. And they sure as hell act in response to physical stimuli and harm. they're just different creatures than mammals. If we can acknowledge their body responds to and processes pain differently than us, why can't we say the same for love? Its just a different chemical for them.

This snake seems like the kind of snake to do a really long “ble” and then slowly put its tongue back in it's mouth.
All snakes do that. It's a sign of stress and usually results in a bite. The reason they do that is because snakes smell with their tongue so they do the long lick to get the most information possible

Bible: snakes are the very embodyments of satan himself
Snakes:
Fun fact. there is no confirmation anywhere that the snake in Eden was Satan.
And if the snake was indeed controlled by any outside force then
A- it wasn't the snake that did anything
B- The snake got cursed for no reason.
Short of an anaconda no other snake is large enough to even attempt to eat you. As for venomous snakes you wouldn't randomly pet one that's owned unless the owner is completely inept.
Your fears are justifiable but nothing you need to worry about. Although don't let larger constrictors near your near unless you 1.) Know the snake well
2.) Have it's handler near by.

@@eggstermin8 what is your take on they just register you as a good environments? Like the same way we would like to be in our houses?

to all the people who think snakes are incapable of being pets or being good pets:
as long as a snake is well fed, well conditiond, and well kept, it will be a fine and good pet. it won't strike or bite you unless you 1. don't feed it enough and it's forced to take anything it can get at that point (poor feeding) 2. You never interact with it and now it thinks that you always have food or are always the food giver (poor conditioning) 3. You keep it in bad and stressful conditions and now it's striking out of fear and stress and such (poor maintaining)
when you think about it, it's simpler to having a dog. it's just got different items and extra care bits.
so yeah, snakes aren't invalid or bad pets.
Jade Heart what if we do give the snake food and handle it well will it still attack?
Jade Heart what I'm saying is that the snake can bite me without the "snake" itself thinking.
