The rod (vitis) was a sign of a centurion’s rank used to discipline and direct his soldiers 🙂 I’m very torn on the humans because they look unbelievable and the history is a passion, but I look to articulation for a lot of the joy I get from figures and I don’t want to get bummed out by buying them just to own. I think I will get a mino though!
The humans look unbelievable but the Minotaur looks totally believable? 😂 just messing with you Bud. The female is def idealized, as is the Minotaur. Most real Minotaur’s aren’t that buff.
Xesray is one of those under-the-radar-but-collectors-know-what's-up companies. Same for 5Ktoys. Love the female gladiators from last year (snagged them for MSRP at the absolute last second, super stressful), and my hope is that Xesray is able to continue the line and maintain the quality. I would not be so bold as to put Xesray up with Mythic Legions yet, but the Xesray stuff punches above its weight!
That articulated mouth is great. I would like to see a more figures with that feature. Congrats Hatter this is a great figure my dude . Hope you and the family are healthy and happy my friend 🙏
That minotaur looks awesome, both versions look great but I think I like the black one better. At Powercon they had an unpainted sample with a woolly rhino head and it will be a LACC exclusive, hope I can get one as it looked amazing.
Looks amazing! They should nix the extra human feet and just go 100% hooves, who is buying a minotaur and saying “but only if he has the option to put bare human toes on him”. That would drive down the price maybe a buck or two.
The Minotaur's sculpt look the greatest, cant say the same for the legion tho... they really need to focus more on articulation for those because as of now, it seems that they'll only be able to strike a pose or two at best. Anyways great review hatter and congrats!
The minotaur's name "Thales" is pronounced "Th-A-lez" =). Once upon a time ago I got my degree in philosophy. Thales is known as the first philosopher (he was Greek and famously taught 4 tenets: (1) The world derives from water; (2) The world rests on water; (3) The world is full of gods; (4) Soul produces motion.) Not that that has anything to do with that giant, kick-ass minotaur. But anyhow, there's the philosophy lesson!

You are AWESOME for that info! Thank you sir

Sick figures!!! Great review Hatter!!! Glad peeps are sending free stuff to review!!!
So wait. Is it Mad Hatter, the Burner of Bridges or Mad Hatter, the Corporate Shill? This video has got my toy world view flipped turned upside down!
I’m sold on the Centurions. Looks awesome
Xesray crushn it, especially the interchangeable armor.

That minotaur looks badass 🔥🔥🔥
5K wants that hatter bump. Someone queue up Peter Gabriel “Big Time”
Wow... that minotaur looks *fantastic!* Haven't been really into their gladiators, but this dude looks awesome!
Those prices are wild
I've got them all on pre-order and I can hardly wait to get these 😎👏👍🎉
Looks amazing!

I hope they use this buck in the future for gladiators. Great review!
Hatter, your getting a little love buddy. Toy tuber myabe what some folks classify you but never a shill. Great outro pics and poses✌️
The minotaurs are my most anticipated figures of this year. It feels like its been forever since they were first announced lol.
That weapon is a flail. Pretty cool figures.

Have any of you seen the movie You’re Highness?😂 Xesray is missing another accessory for the Minotaur. A trophy of sorts.

This guy and his brother will be going with my Fury Toys Turtles, and Furay Planet animal dudes.
The Minnotar could be a good New Olympian member stand in for the Neca Gargoyles collection
You’re in the game!🎉 can I send you my demo tape?
These are definitely sweet
Hatter, how often do you think about the Roman Empire? 😂
I really don’t get the point of that study. 😆
"You knew Marcus Aurelius?!"
The sculps look good but the paint looks really flat compared to the other figs I have from them so hopefully more paint details are coming.
Shill CONFIRMED! :D
Why does company that has solved the enigma of a double-jointed hefty knee not do the same for elbows?
Surprised with the price. V. William was like 100.
Hope the armor paint gets better because it looks dull
You’re big time now, getting free figures…
Phalus
these look really cheap for the price point. shame because i was very interested
