Yeah. Deathmetal is a very broad/wide genre. Some people still consider Opeth progressive deathmetal, even though their last album is full hippymode. Deathmetal can go from superbrutal to supermelodic/open/slow/basic almost poppy proportions. It's therefor a very vague term. Genres are tricky. These days a ton of bands that were once 'pure' now play a crossover of multiple styles.
SinisterSkip True in that crossover aspects but they who once rose from swamps of Florida mostly Tampa are still quite true to their old skool stuff. Prime example Obituary, Cannibal corpse. Ok Morbid Angel did some experimenting but the less known Tampa bands are still doing what they do best.

I've heard this album 3 times in the last two weeks, and while it doesn't tread new sonic terratories instead expanding the existing sounds of Melodic / Tech / Death Metal it's still an absolutely awesome album oozing great musicianship, composition, and great production that captures every detail on the album. Epic, Powerful and Majestic are words that don't fully do this album justice.

This is one beautiful epic majestic song. This is the album when Insomnium took over from Dark Tranquillity as my favourite melodeath for sure... Long time since DT have done anything this damn good (Fiction). But nobody will ever match the ability of Mikael Stanne on vocals.
When you buy the Album, If I could make one suggestion to those who have been listening to Revelation / While we sleep, switch the track list to The Primeval Dark, Collapsing Words, Black Heart Rebellion, Revelation, The River, While We Sleep,Lose to Night, Ephemeral While we sleep and Revelation are the first 2 tracks and for me it made the album a little rough to get through since I already heard the 2 songs. This track listing made the album that much better. Amazing overall!
