Honestly I hate that they brought him back, not because I dislike soundwave (he's my favorite actually), but because they ruined him, they stripped him of everything that made him great, compared to how he could fight in prime, he is simply mediocre, they also took away his distinct design to pay homage to his g1 self which kinda ruined the point in his distinct design and was tactically stupid as he lost his ability to fly, but what truly angers me is that they broke his vow of silence for no reason, in his backstory he took this vow when he left the council on cybertron, believing that he should rather prove himself through his actions and not his words, and finally they defeated him in a way that is not fitting for him, it was to easy, honestly I think it would have been a better idea if they allowed soundwave to successfully summon megatron (while making it that his machine would not harm anyone), as this would have left them with so many options, perhaps he decides to remain loyal to megatron and join him, perhaps he regroups with starscream and the other decepticons, perhaps he usurps starscream and becomes leader, or perhaps in an emotional scene he will simply surrenders to the autobots believing that he wasted so many years trying to escape the shadow zone and rejoin megatron, all for nothing.

@@khorneberzerker2184 he does in G1, however robots in disguise takes place in the Aligned continuity where he took a vow to silence
Essentially, they had to nerf Soundwave, whose trait was that he was so damn good at combat despite being the silent one, he didn’t even need to lift a finger sometimes to fight. And this dude specialised in just conjuring ground bridges EFFORTLESSLY, just for it to be completely forgotten in RID15.
He’s simply nerfed for this inferior version of BumbleBee and his team to defeat the dude
(that by right, is actually able to fight off an entire team of combat-ready Autobots while incapacitated and also abduct one of their members while at it).
If they can nerf Megatronus, The Fallen Prime, who isn’t suppose to be a noob with a breakable staff, they will certainly nerf our beloved Prime Soundwave.
Also it clearly showed that they can use Prime models and translate it to the art style in RID15. So why didn’t they do that so that it does tie in with that it’s after the events of Prime.
I actually also don’t like that they brought back Optimus, who literally sacrificed himself to reactivate Well of Allsparks. He wasn’t suppose to be back.
The dude seems to have been only brought back, so that we can hate Bumblebee for being an angsty teen thinking that Optimus keeps stealing his spotlight.

Sadly, they broke his vow way more often than only this one time - taken into account that the Cybertron Games (including RotDS) are part of the Aligned/Prime continuity, too, ... where he's talking almost as much as in G1 ... - either such a vow of silence means absolutely NOTHING to HASBRO's plot weiters ... or joining Megatron & helping the Decepticons to rise up, ending the fraggin' caste system once and for all times, was "enough" of effective deeds 'n' actions for Soundwave, himself, to regard his vow as fulfilled, already, ... which would mean, he'd be keeping up his "trademark" silence, 99% of the time with exception of his one iconic line during captivity, in TFP, just for

I’m pretty sure I said before, but knowing that soundwave still fights for Megatron even though Megatron retired or something. Shows how much soundwave is still loyal to him, but sad that he is fighting alone and not knowing

The only decepticon who knew Megatron ended the decepticon cause, or basically didn’t want to be part of it anymore was Starscream

He still has hope that the Decepticons won the fight on the Nemesis becuz he was already trapped in the Shadow Zone way before Megatron died and he doesn't know anything after that point
Bee straight up got some PTSD when he saw Soundwave emerging from the gateway or whatever it's called

FYI Dragan the way you did the intro with soundwave coming out of the portal and seeing bumblebee and the cop girl was giving me the chills meaning it was epic. best video ever, and if soundwave's voice actors saw this they will be happy like me :)

Sound wave was with Megatron when he forged the decpticons so soundwave should have been commander and he’s is such a badass bot
There was a reason for Soundwave's passion, it was to keep an eye on who ever was left in charge when Megatron was gone. There where some attempted mutinies on the Decepticons ranks but all where put down by Soundwave before Megatron even knew.

being a long time Transformers prime fan, and REALLY tried giving this new series a go with an open mind but couldn't make it when all the villains looked like pokemon, can someone say IF it does get better? is it worth to try and get into it again bcs Soundwave kinda is the best and I wanna see him again sooo bad.....

I promise you, it will get better. Soundwave is returning with a new form and the new decepticons will not have animal motifs. This will be an exciting season of combiner force.
swr Rebels Rule well Soundwave will be/is making a comeback in the combiner force season. SPOILERS (maybe) so far he's had about three non physical appearances (only a dismembered voice coming out of shadowzone portal he has control of) and is sending minicons (he somehow has control over) and is ordering them to steal Bee's and sideswipe's Decepticon hunting tools for some perhaps endgame.
Hope he don't get a drastical change because the sinister slender form matchs him perfect. Also i hope if he comes out of the Shadow Zone he brings Megatron back that will show Motormaster what being boss means

Honestly, to call RID a continuity from TFP is just not ok, the downgrade in everything from characters, art, and the plot was just sad to see. From the masterpiece that was Prime to this was disappointing. When I heard Soundwave was coming back, I was excited and finally watched some of the show but it ruined him as well.
Iv heard that RID isn't actually a sequel and was never meant to be it was meant as a spin off or something idk for shure tho.

This was uploaded before TFP Soundwave was upgraded to RID Soundwave, which, in my opinion, is uglier. I wish they kept him in his normal, thinner frame, giving him his slender appearance all over again, and letting him be the scary, silent, terrifying, unknown, looking-like-a-lab-experiment-gone-horribly-wrong-but-right Soundwave, instead of making him speak with his voice once more like normal, and ruining his scary stature. I lost my fear of Soundwave after RID, because I could hear his voice more and more, and it no longer disturbed me, and the fact he no longer was his thin, slender self, and that he had a different alt, just ruined RID for me. I respect your opinion if you like his new design, not gonna tell ya off for that.
