I have 9.5k hours in game, been solidly in 5 star since the star system replaced the up and down arrows. I have always been very reluctant to call some very sus deaths due to cheats, of course I have seen some and reported them on the website, but the last month or so the number of blatant cheaters has massively increased and trying to report a lot of them is also becoming an issue, with hidden profiles and even no name to click on at all… It’s sad because I love the game, but the situation is getting out of hand.
Darn you didn't call me stupid like I told you to! Lmao Yikes, that's rough. It's disappointing to hear it's gotten so bad so fast for some people. I wonder what could be causing this to happen. Honestly I'm pretty concerned about the engine update. I'm sure it's gonna cause some gaps in someone that someone can exploit.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial Not gonna call good content stupid man. I honestly don’t know what’s causing the increase in cheaters, and I am only talking about the blatant ones, who knows how many soft cheaters there are hiding it and going undetected. EAC doesn’t seem to be gatekeeping very well at all, but sadly it seems crytek are not about cough up for a stronger solution. I hope I am wrong and they have plans and solutions n the way, but given that we are still dealing with bugs that have existed for years, I have my doubts sadly.
Amen to that .... I'v been playing about 2.5k hrs on hunt and sometimes it just feels odd ... I feel like there is more hacker, the more they update the game.
The whole DLC talk reminds me of how some guy said putting the inspect animation was a misuse of dev time and even when I explained how it's related to the sell of skins which keeps the game running he was in denial.
People live in denial I swear Plus the inspect animations look phenomenal. And also, I'm pretty sure the people making animations are in an entirely different department from a majority of developers. There's no shot that making inspect animations interfered with practically anything in the works.
I have no issues with necro tbh but if ppl are bitching about it maybe have the person reviving burn a bar instead of just losing health that can be regenerated
Man I wish I could pin multiple comments. That's a great, simple idea that would change a lot of the dynamic in those never-ending fights across the compound. Great thinking!
Im pretty new to the game but if i get up with necro myslef i can not heal up to my last bar. Thats why i can revieve myself more often when i have 1x50 and 4x25 bars instead of 3 x 50 bars. But maybe this has another reason im not aware of. As said im new.
The worst part about this game is it’s basically impossible to play as a new hunter unless you have friends ready to go every match. I’ve tried for over an hour several times to get random teammates and NO ONE will play with me. I get that new people are going to be trash but they can’t get better if no one will let them I have literally 3 real world friends that play pc and only 1 with Hunt.
There's definitely people who are unwelcoming to new players and I'm sorry you met some of the bastards. And don't feel singled out, random teammates aren't super great for anybody. What region are you playing in? discord.gg/84a8Ks4kY6 No pressure at all, but we've got a bunch of people in our community discord that are totally willing to play with new players. I would if my hands would allow it 😅 I know the new player experience isn't particularly fantastic in Hunt, but I promise there's a lot more to enjoy once you get past the initial growing pains.
Hey know this is an older video but all your stuff is really awesome dude, super high quality stuff. I was looking for a channel like this for hunt and I am so glad I stumbled across you
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial glad to hear it man :) I’ve seen too many really talented small content creators get fucked over by the algorithm and subsequently discouraged and it’s disheartening every single time. I just started playing Hunt and found your channel thanks to my curiosity of how the community is. Thanks for such a well put together rant on what the typical issues are in the game so I am aware. Makes me want to play more to find more ways to trick or get the upper hand on my opponents. Much respect, and great video.
You are too kind! I'm happy to see another new Hunter taking their first steps into the bayou! If you get frustrated at all, remember that overcoming the growing pains in Hunt is a satisfaction I haven't felt to that level in any other game. Finally getting your bearings, etching out a playstyles that fits you and feeling like you can go toe to toe with others in Hunt is an incredible feeling that only gets better. Good luck and thanks again!
Private lobbies and tournaments would be really fun. I want to see these kind of things in the game for a long time. No other game has the potential that Hunt has, and if they give this game the attention it deserves, it can be one of the best online FPS games. I hope they don't waste this potential, I love this game.
1.8k hours. Solidly 3 stars. Flashbombs were way too nerfed, and given the effect nerf they shouldn't have made tossing them slow as fuck. Beetles got buffed too many times in not useful ways. Too many guns have too many ammos, they aren't special anymore. Melee reworks went way too wacky. Two hands = two slots. One hand = one slot. Easy. Adjust the damage/stamina consumption/swing speed to reflect slot numbers and value. For light/heavy melee Hammers/Axes do 150/300 damage. Katana/Bat do 100/200 damage. Machete/Saber do 75/150. Stamina use, attack time/speed, and attack range can be adjusted for the balance purposes. But I would like that. Bomb Lance swings do the same damage as the Hammer and Axes. The reason for the three slot is the fact that it also shoots stuff. Also, hammers and trauma melees should hit multiple enemies in the swing.
They really did take flashbombs out back and shoot them huh I don't even know where to begin with beetles lmao I feel like the best option is to buff their damage but this could become such a problem so quickly. And those are solid ideas for melee! I think Crytek kinda needs to just.. take a stance on melee. I feel like they try to tiptoe around melee options because they don't want them to be a focus for loadouts/playstyles. I would like Crytek to come out and make sweeping changes to melees. I've mulled over the idea of a dedicated melee loadout slot but, there's too much that would need to change for that to happen. Plus it would lead to everyone having an axe or katana lmao
In response to your rant about having more game modes: I love your idea of the tournament system using Hunt dollars to buy in. I also think the game could benefit from a form of team quickplay as well as a economy rework. One angle I think they could do is tie the economy to hunters experience/level similar to the trait points/upgrade system.
Thank you very much! I'm proud of that idea in particular, I think it would be phenomenal for Hunt. Help the economy, bring competitive hunters and casual hunters together. Increase population spikes. It would be awesome. Id be worried about an economy rework like THAT though, I feel like it would be so difficult to implement lmao definitely something I've given a lot of thought to.. It's why Crytek usually gives us very small changes. But we really need huge moves. Thank you for commenting!
I’d quite frankly LOVE a boss gauntlet mode. Shoved into an arena filled with the undead and bosses spawn in and the hunters get rewards based on how many bosses they defeat or how fast they defeat them. Would make for a fun and intense PvE mode.
That would be awesome. The problem is the fact that they'd need to tweak numbers and stuff. It's too easy to fight bosses as is, they'd need to amp them up to lore-levels 😎 I love the idea though!!
Well I'm glad you found me now! And that's how I feel making Hunt videos haha I can't really play anymore because of nerve damage but making a Hunt video helps me feel like I'm stepping back into the bayou like I used to. A little soothe to the itch that never stays away for long. Cheers mate
a great video as always I don't agree with you on everything, but sure as shit appreciate your point of view hopefully, it will not take another month to see more ;)
You're hilarious! Came across the channel today. Listened while I did some work. Keep making videos! Subbed. This was gold, you have VERY BASED, logical opinions. Also fuck you Josh
@@christophermiller8589 That's very kind of you to say.. Thank you so much! It means more than you know! 🤠 I really needed to hear that today. ❤ Stay blessed.
Besides the solo necro glazing, which is understandable because ur a content creator and get direct value by defending it, straight to the point for all of them. Nice vid
25:24 , playing in 5 to 6 stars lobby for a veeeeeery long time already and even when i get rolled by a trio mosin spitzer dolch-P, most of the time i still feel like i died bcs i played like shit and not cause of a loadout dif. It's a bit like smashbros, everyone plays fox, yeah he's strong but if you're rly good and kickass with your own weird pick then you can destroy the hell out of "meta slaves" cause they sure know how to handle long amo vs long amo fight but they lack experience in others matchups and there you got an advantage. people stuck themselves in these "meta loadouts" but even tho the meta thing is strong and it's rly borring to go up against 24/24 , they don't make hunters immortal, one good shot is all you need to turn the tables, if you're in these higher MMR lobby prove that you got the skill and game knowledge to be there, spend the month learning how to play winny and clap those 6stars mosin fuckers like a chad anyways enough of that, rly gudd video
Absolutely love your perspective, I agree one thousand percent. It's a similar vein to the avtomat problem pre ammo rework. Even though it was OP, you could still just shoot them in the head and win the fight. It's difficult but never impossible. Oh and I appreciate the smash bros analogy. Did you play? Who was your main? 👀 Thank you for commenting.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial nah never really played or maybe once or twice on ultimate😄but i got my best friend that tryharded melee back then and explained me a LOT (maybe too much 😂) of stuff 'bout the game. he's a yoshii player 👀
Well i completely disagree with point 1. I have 1000 hours and was always 5-6 stars. The situation is that there are more cheaters in 3-4 star bracket than higher ones. Players with 200 hours, headshotting with iron sight winnie up to 200 meters from outside, inside into the building, wallbanging like crazy, knowing your every step and sound. Oh and btw I am a casual player.
agree on the game modes as long as they arent permanent ones. if they add something like team deathmatch then we will a few weeks where you barely get a bounty hunt lobby and then everyone leaves because the new cod or somethign comes out, now we have split the player base into 3 groups. we dont have the player count for permanent modes
There's a ton they could do for rotating game modes and fun things. I just really want some type of custom lobby that would allow friends to actually duel it out with support, not just.. hopping in the practice range and brute forcing some fun. If I could hop into a small compound with three friends and have a 4 man free for all, I'd be playing hunt customs every single night lol
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial agree. our discord server has around 8 people who actively play, and we have to split into groups regularly. tournament night would become a weekly ritual lol
At 5 to low 6 star lobbies Cheaters are not that common (at least europe servers) Last time i faced cheater at peak hours was 3 months ago and that person's account got banned And playing with my friends at 3-6 star games I havent see or experienced cheater at all Or if they had cheated it is most likely soft cheating at max like recoil deduction or some shiet dont know Cheating was more rampart when reshade was allowed After that it has lowered quite a lot
Instances of cheating depend on your region, Oceania and Asia are lower pop (esp oce) therefore being a 3 star you'll still get into super high rank therefore you'll run into cheaters way more
3 star here borderline 4 star. ( I flip flop a lot between the two) It's hard to not call someone a cheater when they are rank 27 no prestige and the headshot me, and my friend. Back to back without missing a shot when we are about 50 feet apart sprinting to a compound. I spectated this dude and you could see when he turned his cheats on. The sad part is. I don't think the person he was playing with was cheating. I'm willing to bet helis friend didn't even know.
They have enough of a playerbase to afford to split it into new game modes. I've been begging for this, and I finally have gotten burnt out on hunt and stopped playing after a 1000hrs or so, even though there are more dedicated players out there for sure with more reason than me. I've always wanted a faster-paced game mode that functions sort of like a match of CS or Tarkov Arena and would have two teams fighting it out in a compound, or be the opposite with even more teams flooding the normal large map, either way leading to more engagement and less downtime or stealthy gameplay. The stealth and slowness of matches often falling to a stalemate where nobody makes a move or risks too much due to fear of one-shots gets really old. But when I ask for quicker gameplay, I'm always either met with "There's Quickplay," or "This isn't COD." I get that! I play this and not COD because of the one-of-a-kind and arguable best FPS gunplay ever. I just want to enjoy that gunplay with varied, mostly faster, gameplay around it. I guess that's unreasonable.
I'm right there with you! Quick play doesn't itch it for me because it's still normal contract matches with a small twist. It's not " hit butcher with axe and leave" it's "hit hunter with axe and live, so that you can leave". People say that other game modes would split the player base and I'm not too sure of that. I feel like casual for fun game modes will only bring more people into Hunt to give it a try. Especially veteran hunters who are burnt out.
I love the idea of a podcast. No idea how I'd go about it though. Hunt only has truly so much to talk about.. I would run outta stuff pretty quick. Hmm.. Maybe it would be a good opportunity to collaborate with other hunt TH-camrs. Come up with some talking points and have someone on, do it twice a month? Could be fun. You've inspired me to think about it. Thank you very much! P.s. the blooper reel sounds hilarious actually. I've gotta look into that.
For the cheating I would say there's probably a slightly lesser chance of them being interested in the game since leaderboard and performance bbs have been deleted and replaced with challenges instead. There's less incentive to abuse the game. Csgo, Lol accounts and boosting are lucrative, this just doesn't exist in Hunt
Getting wall banged out of nowhere now isn't the biggest problem, i hardly play the game anymore as i enjoyed the early days of the game when people played slow and sneaky back in the early days of early access but sometimes I get the itch and come back and 4 games in just playing solo get killed a second after the game starts just to look at the play and see he is all the way across the map and has a name you can't even report
I understand your frustration with how far the game has changed from the old days. May I make a recommendation though? Keep trying. Stealth is still very possible. If you look to players at higher MMR and their gameplay, there's plenty of them that still rat around, use sound as decoys, sneak to the roof and drop in! I even do it myself!, it's very possible. Some bad games after coming back from big gaps of play time will make the game a lot more difficult. If you just give it some more time I definitely think the pieces will fall into place! Good luck!
How do cheaters not get bored of cheating on a game lmao. I feel like if i cheated id be like lol for like 2 matches and be like wtf is the point, what am i doing with my time?
I feel that on a spiritual level lmao. I don't get it. I think it's the feeling of rebellion that gets them going. Knowing you're doing a bad thing can be exciting for people.
I took a break, and played a ton the last few months to see how good i can get. Not only are the shotguns nerfed to being as useless as any other gun, the weapon sway and " balancing " ( which by way makes the learning curve too much for some people ) make me think its' a game problem that IN THE PAST, i didn't notice at all .
Shotguns still have their place, they just have more risks now I would say. There's nothing that will compete with someone hiding behind a door with a shotgun though, that's just a free kill the Springfield wouldn't give you.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial hahah in my mind it mind as well be a Winfield when it takes 3 hits to kill. Also the weapon sway, hunt is the only game when I switched back to mouse and keyboard, I didn't see a huge improvement. They took something too far with their " balancing", so not only is it almost impossible for me to hit after playing for a long time , but introducing a new player is completely useless and frustrating. I put the game down after switching back to mouse and keyboard and the shooting is still trash. Used to not be such trash, by the way
@@LongDongSilvers69420 yeah whatever man, whatever it is , they ruined the way the game plays and i don't play it anymore . And i play alot of shooting games, it's only hunt showdown that is just... " broken "
@@boodrowwilson1894 to each their own, not really trying to argue I'm just saying the last two nerfs to shotguns were the ammo rework and slugs when they came out as far as I can remember and the sway has consistently been reduced, go look at videos from 3 tears ago and it's much worse.
cheaters are a plague in 5 star. now its not blatant cheating its soft cheating. the people trying to blend in. my friend used to play with someone who cheated a lot and knows exactly what to look for when they do. on the rare occasion that you can view a cheaters info and steam its easy to tell by the numbers and if its a new account. the game needs a way to replay. My biggest question is why crytek is defending scum? they either remove things to find these cheaters or adds things to hide them.
I wouldn't necessarily agree that Crytek is defending scum, but I do think a replay system would be wonderful. Not just for finding cheaters but also just because it would be very useful. I can't speak heavily on soft cheating in Hunt, but I know it's a big problem in games like Rainbow six siege, so I could definitely see that happening in Hunt as well. Thank you for giving us your perspective!
People wouldn't need to "come back" for the events if they didn't feel burnt out because of them in the first place, and took a break, again, because of them. They are not the solution as much as they are one of the causes. Longer break between events so they actually feel meaningful, and not just reskins of each other.
I do agree that it's a self fulfilling prophecy. We need the events to bring players back but they only stop playing because of the events. It's a catch 22. I think Crytek best option would be to be completely open and clear for once. Lay out a roadmap about what they're going to do, how long they think it will take, and then take a huge event break to make that roadmap happen. How do you feel about that idea?
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial More communication on their part would be welcomed, be it in the form of a roadmap or dev streams like they used to do. Also what I *believe* they lack is actual testers, and they just push stuff on us to test it for free for a few months. On the event discussion, I think 2 big events/ year accompanied by some smaller scale ones like twitch drops and stuff like that is the perfect balance between Good old hunt and the experimental events, not the 3 to 4 they are trying to do.
I wish there was more actual content instead of getting turned into a live service game. Whenever I open the game now, I'm hit with the current sales for bloodbonds (real cash). I've been playing since Beta and since the good days of Hunt, where it wasn't just complete sweat lords all the time.
I also wish they would add more content to the game. I don't mind the DLCs if an equal amount of new guns, mobs, maps, modes, and whatever else is getting added over time. I would really give it all for custom lobbies. Or at least some type of system like that. I mean, I hear many perspectives that Hurt was a lot more grueling back then, so it's interesting to hear that it was more casual for yourself back then! It's an interesting perspective. A lot less crutches for people to rely on, it was more hardcore. There was definitely a lower average player skill because the game hasn't been out for five years, but after five whole years, I'm expecting the average skill to increase drastically eventually.
Oh 100%. I keep encouraging my hunt friends to pace themselves and play other games to appreciate hunt more. Some do, some just continue to drop into the bayou and go "why am I not having fun" lmao
Nothing better than locking cheaters at 6 starts and the way they do these it's by increasing your ranking starts exponentially so if you have one game were you killed everyone like I have a couple times then they will put you against 5 and 6
Well sure, cheating is a more general term, including exploits, direct hacks, bug abuse, etc. But I think most people automatically think of cheat programs (i.e walling) when they think of cheating.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial I was watching a compilation of all the stuff they removed over the years. And even if some made sense, like busted characters on release others like some weird window where both teams could shoot each other from or lore related abilities like two sisters resisting each others concussion abilities due top being accustomed to it it's just "no fun allowed" to the max. That's not even getting into how they buffed characters giving them a magnified sight so next season they overnerfed said characters making them slower or removing ammo from their guns, etc. All of this due to "data" which they took at face value. I huffed a lot of copium for that game but it really reached a breaking point this year.
My problem is the anti cheat is trash (its getting worse and most are from Cina), PING abusers are trash people, weapons need better balancing and Crytek need to stop giving every gun every special ammo type like why the FUCK would ya give Cenny bleed?! And HUGE did great videos about the cheaters.
oh boy i sure hope this isnt just about the cheating "problem" that only hunt has where every single lobby has atleast 5 cheaters in it and how crytek is selling cheats in dark alley ways.
I do hope you found the video broad enough for your liking! I hate to just harp on something dumb and easy like cheating. I like to bring up things people breeze over a lot. Let me know how you felt!
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial it was a great video, i was mainly ripping on the abhorrent subreddit, i legit have seen takes that crytek partners and devs are secretly paying people to get killed in their videos and are selling cheats, along with the "im a 3 star and had a cheater in every single match tonight". it just gets tiring.
Yall mightve been here first but Im the first ACTUAL comment so suck it. Anyways. There are many issues with Hunt at the moment. Which you brought up most of them. But cheating is definitely the main issue they need to focus on at the moment. Like you said I dont think cheating is as prominent as others say. At least not outside of Asian servers. Im a 3k hr 2.0 KD 6* so I have enough experience and skill to know what cheating actually looks like. Like any game the very top tier of tryhard gameplay can easily come across as cheating to all these scrubs. I have friends who are 4 to 5 star and when they play with me in my lobbies there are plenty of times they cry "cheaters" when in reality I can just tell the enemy was skilled like that. And thats the main problem imo. Hunt makes it harder to reassure yourself that your death was legit because of all these pussies who hide stats. If you get killed in some bs way by a negative kd dork with 500 hrs then you feel content brushing it off as luck. But when you cant see a kill cam or stats people immediately assume hacks to make themselves feel better. And it definitely inflates the number of hacusations. Trust me im as legit as they come and im also not the best but ive had my fair share of crying pansies bleeding from their vaginas on my steam comments calling me a hacker for killing them in ways they think is impossible even tho ive earned the skill to do so after 3k hrs. Look at reshade for example. All the 3* trash cans cried and cried about it even tho 99% of reshade users only used it to make their game look better. All the exploits reshade could provide such as the zoom in feature or the effect that got rid of flash effects were literally disabled when ever connected to an actual match and you needed a cracked version to use them which 99% of people wouldnt be able to get even if they wanted to. But again people just love to use anything as an excuse for their shit skills. I had a dude accuse me of using reshade to remove flash effects because I killed him while I was flashed. It was a fairly easy kill because I was already aiming at where he was going to push through and all I had to do was listen and guess when he was in the crosshair of my SHOTGUN. And when he accused me I sent a recording of the kill proving I didnt cheat. But he was such a pathetic sorry ass cry baby bitch loser that he literally refused to even look at the clip I linked. And these are the type of pansies that are the vocal majority that cry to crytek about cheating and are inflating the problem more. Potentially turning away new players by leaving reviews claiming theres a hacker in EVERY match. Crytek needs to get everything in line to take away any excuse these dolts might use to excuse their lack of skill. Yes there are hackers like in any game but its not the OMFG THIS GAME IS SWARMING WITH HACKERS EVERY MATCH like people try to make it seem. But crytek does have a problem with lack of attention and protocol to deal with hackers. The greatest moderators for hackers in a game is its community and crytek needs to give the player base the tools to help us help them. Crytek needs to not only make it harder for people to hack but also not make it easy for hackers to hide and make it easier for us to help in getting rid of them.
Like what are you talking about on high mmr, nah there is not only people with thousands of hours, if you sit at 3 stars after for example 1k hours you just suck so stop being delusional. I am around 400 - 500 hours and i am already sitting at 6 stars, that being said there is almost no cheaters below 5 stars and people who are defending the game on reddit probably never got to even 4 stars. Above 5 stars there has been a rapid increase in cheating players in the past 4 months. Its really sad to see that crytek is not doing anything about this issue, i had multiple clips of people blatantly cheating and ive sent them to the support directly and they always say that it is an alt account and the person is not cheating
Yes there's definitely more cheaters in five-six star MMR. I agree completely. I think people are too quick to jump to cheaters when they truly just get shit on, which is a commonality in Hunt. The game was built on "get good", some people are just in denial. Thank you for commenting!
i would never suggest the game to someone. on EU Servers 6MMR (like 2k hours now there) are alot of cheaters. 3/4 players in a round are sussy russians or china boys with often times vac
Cheaters are a bigger problem then you think, most use walls, and they are in EVERY MMR, it's not a minority, it's easy to find the evidence, and even the devs already admitted cheating IS a problem, people even believe some .. supposedly good streamers are NOT ever cheating, while they getting exposed left and right last year and this year, most have 10 alt accounts to to make their video's that basically is exploiting (cheating) as well. imho just having a quik peek in a cheater forum look on a cheat website or social media's r even content creators uploading video's of them blatantly having WH on, and see how many likes and comments they have you CAN'T tell me it is NOT Rampant , every game is rampant but Hunt NOT ? Common now. secondly most are using WH with sense , they hold the angle or wait for you to peek only for them to have the inhuman reaction to shoot you first , this is how most cheat on EU at least.
I'm sorry that you're experiencing such a cheater problem but I can't agree. I see hundreds of posts from people with thousands of hours talking about cheaters, but then I never get proof. It's like.. for every twenty five posts I get ONE guy who actually spectated and recorded his opponent to find imperative evidence that the enemy hunter was cheating. I guess we'll just continue to be diametrically opposed on this. I respect your opinion though. You play on EU right? That may have a big impact on our different perspectives. I'm sure the EU servers has an entire different pool of cheaters who do different things.
I mean ........... Wouldn't a reason to play the game be to, and follow me here, enjoy playing the game? Am I missing something here? I didn't realize this was hunt shopdown? What are you even grinding for? Just play for fun! It sounds to me like you've got the Fortnite mindset. You need something substantial to grind for or the game feels pointless I'm guessing? Maybe take a break?
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial they are hardly working. The game is in an awful technical state, they still use the free version of the anti heat which causes a lot of community anger. It is really sad, that such a game is slowly dying. I've been monitoring the situation closely for quite some time, can't call myself 5k hours Andy, but I still have 1k hours spread through some time. Thus I can tell you that the bugs and problems that I've encountered day 1 still are in the game.
Solo necro os OP in many ways. I know that you are a solo and you are in a disadvantage, but are you really? You are playing with lower MMR players. I've played as a solo and I swear that some ppl at 3 stars are bots or play without sound or something like that. The skill gap is huge. Now you add necro and makes the skill gap even wider. Maybe if picking necro would decrease the mmr handicap it could be reasonable. Then the issues with necro and solo necro, you don't have a clue about when they are getting up, get over 5m away and they just can get up without a sound. Yeah you can burn them but good luck camping a body when more teams are coming to third party. Yeah you can trap the body but know what, they get up with 125 hp and can tank a lot of dmg. I would nerf necro in two ways, first add a lightning to the rez animation so everyone knows that you magically got up and maybe even give the necroing friend a debuff, lose 1 health chunk (burnt) or strong poison effect or losing the charge to use necro and you need to loot a body to regain it. Then for the solo I would keep the charge system, you get one self-rez if you want to do it again either loot a hunter or get the bounty, then same thing with the lightning when rez, so everyone knows that you got up. And the last nerf for necro, if someone loots you body they put an anti necro on top of you preventing you from using necro, this would end the body camping issue, if you get close enough to a body that you can loot it it means that if they solo uses necro you are just getting a free kill, lowering the solo's mmr even more creating a even bigger skill gap
The thing is, it's easier now than EVER to burn a body. Salveskin still sucks, and you can burn people with fusees, flares, nearly anything lol Solo Necro becomes strong in large scale fights within compounds where if you watch a body for a period of time, you're greatly at a disadvantage. But try burning somebody with fusees and baiting their body, it works! Plus the fusees are significantly quieter than lanterns/flares. So people fae away aren't likely to hear it and push to save their boy. Plus you can just yeet a poison trap concertina bomb on them. There's plenty of ways to get around them. And frankly I don't think it's a fair argument to tell me that a squad of three people don't have an advantage on a solo player lol. I feel like if that squad has a regular problem with solos, they just split off too often and are giving them 1v1s. Not enough trading. I have friends who play solo and are very good at the game, high MMR. Most games they just die when they rez. The few games they do get up and take out their assailant, they still gotta get through the rest of the game! I'm fine with solos having a couple edges to make up for the fact they're constantly outnumbered. I respect your opinion though.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial I don't get what you mean with fuses being quieter, you killed the guy most likely by shooting at him, so everyone knows he is dead, and their team is going to get a visual and audio clue about their downed teamate being burned. Using necro with a burning teamate is op, before necro you either had to either choke the body or manually put the fire out, now just press e behind cover. Having to carry concertina and waste it for a body is insane, more even if you don't even know if they have necro or not. The perk is unbalanced, is a must pick if you want to remain competitive. Then about the solos, I'm a 5 stars players when playing with friends. But when I play solo I drop to 3 stars really easy. Playing normal, trying to necro if I have the change, most of the time I get insta killed but 10% of the time I'm able to kill the squad. This simple things lowers my MMR way lower than it should be. Then it puts me agaisnt 2-3 stars guys, most of the time I die and don't win the game but I get many many more kills than playing with my trio. It is not fun for the new guys to the game to have a random inmortal wipe their squad with apparently god aim. I have 1000+ hours on this game, and the mmr system puts me agaisnt ppl with just 5 kills total on their account. Is that a fun experience for the new guys? I think not. When I play solo I laugh at trios, they do not scare me, but if I see another solo then I know that I have to play really carefully. That's how broken the system is. I enjoy playing solo and using necro, but I'd be the first to vote to remove it from the game or nerf it heavily
@@artin_rn99 Could you please elaborate? If you are to place a comment I imagine you have something to say but with those few words no one can understand what you wanted to say. Please go on and explain what you meant
@@Raizazel nothing much I just think that solo necro is not that op when you learn how to counter it, like bringing flares and traps that don’t cost much. it’s also really easy to k.d farm on downed solo hunter( if you are as petty as me). So imo there is not much need to nerf necro at the moment. (I’m a 4star btw so idk if it’s really the same on higher mmrs.)
The thing that I can not stand and am so tired of hearing in the hunt space is "games should be balanced around the average player." Fine sure, but the key word there is BALANCED, not designed around. The game should have it's own goal and style. So when I say that Death Cheat and all the health restoration and Witness and rampant special ammos are all betrayals of Hunt itself, I don't even care whether they are balanced or not. The game does not revolve around free information like that or automatic get out of jail free cards like that, you guys just want to play a different game. Look at the economy Yeah the top players have hundreds of thousands of dollars and the worst player are broke. That is the point. That is how an economy works. All this, help I am a 2 star 0.004 KDA player, who is constantly broke how can Crytek remake the economy to suit me" stuff is stupid. The economy is essentially the only thing that punishes you anymore, you don't have to think, you don't have to listen, you don't even need to hit as many shots with all the status conditions you can inflict. It isn't about the game being unbalanced. It is that everything that has been added is un-Hunt.
Idk what you on about broadie cuz in the higher mmrs people dont even use dumdumm or incendiary because its wallbang city. What does Unhunt even mean? All of a sudden you know Hunt identity better than all the devs? Sure some of these things have made the game a bit more forgiving and thats a good thing. Because not everyone is a no life tryhard like me
I mean true balance is inherently impossible in any game that isn't a pure number comparison. The moment you add variables and the human element, someone will find some way to break something. When there is variability pure balance is just impossible. But that's where evolving the design comes in. If the current system is impossible to balance, I think it makes all the sense for Crytek to rework those systems. And if those new designs rely on catering to the average player, that is probably for the better. After all, they are the majority of the player base. They have the most wallets to throw at the game, which means revenue, which means more live service. I will agree with you that the spirit of Hunt as it WAS is.. Probably just gone 😅 but that's the thing! We gotta think about it like this. When hunt was more.. let's say "boots on the ground" grueling, gritty combat that was very punishing and prevented people from winning often, the player base was TINY. That doesn't win the bucks. I easily see a correlation between lowering the skill floor and increasing the player count over time. This increase of players and revenue consistently got us more events, more cosmetics, even more bounty targets, and more grunts. More lore, better trailers, more music! More HUNT! They can't afford to design around the best players. It only alienates the average player, and yeah, it IS a "get gud" moment, but.. skill gaps can kill games. I think Crytek went around designing around the average player in a better way than most developers do. When new things are added to the game, they justify it with lore when possible and try to really make it feel like they put thought into it. When they add new fail safes for worse players, they tend to add a ceiling of skill to it as well, so that better players can still prove they are better. Take Necro for example. It's really easy for a bad player to get off a res with Necro, right? But those bad players don't consider their health bar. They don't consider how LOUD Necro is. They don't watch their surroundings, or hide before using it. That's where your better players come in. They utilize Necro in more creative ways. They even use it as a bait if they know someone is lurking. There's a lower floor for weaker players, and a higher ceiling for better players. These are designs that, while being catered to the average player, still allow better players to spread their wings. And this is where the better future for Hunt should probably keep heading. Crytek isn't adding things that are inherently un-hunt. I believe that in reality, Hunt is changing for Crytek and for us. They see a different development path now than they did before, and frankly it looks like it has only paid off for them. I can't see 1.0 Hunt still getting updates five years later. I think the game would have died. Hunt isn't and probably will never be what it used to be, but at least we still have it, and will continue to have it for the foreseeable future. Thank you for commenting! I appreciate you taking the time to type all that off. Sorry for my essay, I ended up having a lot to say! 😅
@@Hextin I mean given that I generally have a higher MMR than everyone in the dev team I would say that I don't NOT know what Hunt's identity is. Though as Horse pointed out it is what its identity was rather.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial Yeah and that is fair, maybe not every i is dotted or t is crossed. But if we look at the economy and player MMR distributions it never looked like the game was exactly unbalanced. The game was challenging and that just isn't everyone cup of tea. there is nothing wrong with that, but it means that it is going to have a smaller player base. Shifting to a more mainstream design feels like a betrayal of your dedicated player base who might have signed on for what the game is. It is a decision made for money and not what might be best for the games. While it is admittedly within Crytek's rights to do that one of the things that I think you might have overlooked in this video is the steep drop-off in community communication. If they are going to radically change the design philosophy for the entire game do you not think that the dedicated player base deserves more than the implication of that in a third party interview? Again it isn't about designing around the best player either. It is about designing Hunt. The fact that the best player understand what those things mean almost immediately isn't the devs favoring them. For instance when solo necro was announced I put in the announcement videos things like "Oh this whole patch is a MMR derankers dream." Or "Well, 4* and under is gonna need to bring fire in every match now." Now a year later they have added a million ways to burn people out because those low MMR people could not figure out hey maybe take a molly. Maybe solo necro isn't the most balanced thing, but them never even trying to reach the absolute lowest level of competency in regards to game system interactions is not a reason to rework those system. It also isn't an example of the developers designing around the best players. I strongly disagree with you that they are adding skill ceilings with these new failsafes. My primary grip is Death Cheat. I understand how that is useful of a low skill player, but you can not tell me that there is any sort of gameplay interaction around that trait. It is in all regards a get out of jail free card. A better example though would be Witness. Witness lets you see dead bodies and track living hunters. Instead of using your ears and eyes to pay attention to the ongoing match condition you gain about 1.5 star worth of information for pressing a button. How does that interact with a skill ceiling? All not needing witness does is open up a single trait slot, and there is not a single trait available that gives me the same amount of advantage to make up for my skill. Just to take 2 of these points in 1 example lets look at Peacekeeper. If your teammate gets burned out you can still rez them at the cost of your health. It definitely favors scared 3 stars who hunker down once they are outnumbered, but everyone could get some value out of it. the trick is you can also get a bar back on looting a dead body. So some enterprising individuals figured out they could trade deaths infinitely with it. Now for the first time in like a year Crytek actually did something during an event. They said they rolled back the gains of anyone they found doing this, and that if you did it in the future you would get a temporary ban. while the post itself is very short it is the first real gameplay update we have gotten in forever. And more importantly it was in black and white in all the official channels. They haven't really tried to say anything about cheating, they haven't really said anything about the event burnout, they haven't really said anything about balance, but they took the time to whine about players actually understanding how the game works. At best they sometimes answer a question on their gameplay streams, but I hardly consider that the same thing. And yes I understand some people were queue sniping in order to accomplish this. But that was already against the TOS, they didn't need to make a whole post about it. I am personally in the camp I don't really care if 1.0 Hunt had gotten updated for 5 years. At least it would have died with dignity. No problem. I obviously also have strong feelings about this.
TLDR: non premium skins unfeasible to get, and MMR needs rework, also live service games should be free which would go far to alleviate many of the woes. Now if anyone is curious about how I arrived at this conclusion or for a more nuanced take. I'm a console player with 2k hrs and 4-5 MMR. I'll come out of the gate saying I'm fine with a reduction of premium currency if they are moving to the live service model key word IF. I looked last week and saw Hunt was sitting at a crispy 12k active players with 150k within 30 days pretty abysmal numbers. The game is perpetually discounted so make it a monthly free game get some artificial bloat then just make it free after the fact. It justifies the model they are going for and what Hunt needs more than anything is a steady transfusion of new blood. Not a temporary one like when it goes on sale and us vets throw on our finest executioner skins and go on a white shirt apocalypse. MMR it seems like there is three Hunt players Sweats, Casuals, and in people forever damned to be too good for casuals and too mediocre for sweats guess which one I am. With so few players the MMR system has to be volatile to hold any semblance of coherency, but with 5-20x the player count you would see it slacken somewhat. Me and my friends are tired of being punished for having one good night of Hunt it gets old.
Are you smoking crack or just intentionally misleading people for some malicious reason? "8,740 playing 25 min ago. 17,057 24-hour peak. 44,527 all-time peak" Hunt showdown hit its highest player count ever last year on steam during tide of shadows, when they released rotjaw. "44,527 peak June 2023". You do realize that the games population is heavily reliant on current events in game right? And we're hitting the lowest slump in the cycle because the current event JUST ended last week, and we're waiting for the next event. Similar to three months after an expansion in a card game. Peak players three months ago when this event had just come out "38,606 March 2024" The player count is still very good. People are coming back during the greatest moments of the game, and taking breaks when they want to wait for the next big thing. This is a healthy lifestyle for anyone to have. A game doesn't need to be apex, or league of legends. It doesn't need a small countries population playing daily to be a success. And don't TLDR the video without including the entire video, you're just trying to prevent people from getting the whole picture, like you did with this summary. Oh and where the bloody hell is the 150k number coming in? Are you using congregate statistic websites that estimate population data based on trends? They're wholely unreliable. Miserable comment to read. Just because you are unhappy, it doesn't give you any right to lie and manipulate others to be as miserable as you are. Be better. steamcharts.com/app/594650
I really thought I was gonna get this done in one evening in at the end of March

Lmao
Yikes, that's rough.
People live in denial I swear
Plus the inspect animations look phenomenal.

No pressure at all, but we've got a bunch of people in our community discord that are totally willing to play with new players. I would if my hands would allow it 😅
I know the new player experience isn't particularly fantastic in Hunt, but I promise there's a lot more to enjoy once you get past the initial growing pains.

It is truly one of a kind, and I can't find any other game that feels exactly like it. The potential for sooo much greatness is sitting right there.
They really did take flashbombs out back and shoot them huh
I don't even know where to begin with beetles lmao I feel like the best option is to buff their damage but this could become such a problem so quickly.
It's too easy to fight bosses as is, they'd need to amp them up to lore-levels 😎
I love the idea though!!
I just found you're content and this is the sort of long form hunt discussion ive been looking for! Looking forward to checking out podcast.

25:24 , playing in 5 to 6 stars lobby for a veeeeeery long time already and even when i get rolled by a trio mosin spitzer dolch-P, most of the time i still feel like i died bcs i played like shit and not cause of a loadout dif. It's a bit like smashbros, everyone plays fox, yeah he's strong but if you're rly good and kickass with your own weird pick then you can destroy the hell out of "meta slaves" cause they sure know how to handle long amo vs long amo fight but they lack experience in others matchups and there you got an advantage.
people stuck themselves in these "meta loadouts" but even tho the meta thing is strong and it's rly borring to go up against 24/24 , they don't make hunters immortal, one good shot is all you need to turn the tables, if you're in these higher MMR lobby prove that you got the skill and game knowledge to be there, spend the month learning how to play winny and clap those 6stars mosin fuckers like a chad
anyways enough of that, rly gudd video
Absolutely love your perspective, I agree one thousand percent. It's a similar vein to the avtomat problem pre ammo rework. Even though it was OP, you could still just shoot them in the head and win the fight. It's difficult but never impossible.

Well I'm sorry that you've been running into those situations, I really can't say the same for myself or my hunt group.
agree on the game modes as long as they arent permanent ones. if they add something like team deathmatch then we will a few weeks where you barely get a bounty hunt lobby and then everyone leaves because the new cod or somethign comes out, now we have split the player base into 3 groups. we dont have the player count for permanent modes
At 5 to low 6 star lobbies
Cheaters are not that common (at least europe servers)
Last time i faced cheater at peak hours was 3 months ago and that person's account got banned
And playing with my friends at 3-6 star games
I havent see or experienced cheater at all
Or if they had cheated it is most likely soft cheating at max like recoil deduction or some shiet dont know
Cheating was more rampart when reshade was allowed
After that it has lowered quite a lot
Happy to get your perspective! Especially from the EU servers. We don't usually get to hear from the problems happening over the pond.
Instances of cheating depend on your region, Oceania and Asia are lower pop (esp oce) therefore being a 3 star you'll still get into super high rank therefore you'll run into cheaters way more
That's a fair point actually. Other games I play have similar problems with population vs actual rank
Less competition means more climbing
Podcast of the AHA? Maybe do an intentional blooper reel. Maybe both?
That's a fair point to make
Other than just to be bastards there isn't an incentive to cheat in hunt
Good luck!
Im gonna send the entire Bee Movie in an email, if not the movie than the script
What I would like to see is a nerf to spritzer ammo maybe take the pin away or something like that
That's an interesting take, I'll have to think about that. Spritzer ammo never bothered me in particular
Used to not be such trash, by the way
This just is objectively not true. They lessened the sway years ago, and as far as I know, shotguns haven't been nerfed in... 3 years.
My biggest question is why crytek is defending scum? they either remove things to find these cheaters or adds things to hide them.
and when it comes to events my biggest issue is the spires everywhere. you can't sneak around or lay an ambush if just one is around.
Burnt out is such a personal issue bc the cause and solution is different for everyone and every hobby.
Oh 100%. I keep encouraging my hunt friends to pace themselves and play other games to appreciate hunt more. Some do, some just continue to drop into the bayou and go "why am I not having fun" lmao
Nothing better than locking cheaters at 6 starts and the way they do these it's by increasing your ranking starts exponentially so if you have one game were you killed everyone like I have a couple times then they will put you against 5 and 6
Yeah your MMR shoots up in the background before your stars catch up, I think
Interesting video, thanks for making it!
I appreciate you taking time out of your day to tell me that! I hope all my videos are interesting in some regard 🤣 Thank you very much!
Ping abuse can be called cheating also... Any sort of extra benefits over other players can be considered cheating....
Well sure, cheating is a more general term, including exploits, direct hacks, bug abuse, etc.
But I think most people automatically think of cheat programs (i.e walling) when they think of cheating.
Horse, how familiar are you with Sardin? If so look at his video view counts and your average player count for a day of hunt.
I tried eight different spellings of that name and I couldn't find whoever you're talking about I'm sorry brother
Siege completely ruined fun for everyone by balancing to the even smaller playerbase that's professional players.
And that's on god
Balancing to the .001% of the player base RUINS games
Yeah I need to watch the huge video.
Also tbfh I think hunt needs a region lock
oh boy i sure hope this isnt just about the cheating "problem" that only hunt has where every single lobby has atleast 5 cheaters in it and how crytek is selling cheats in dark alley ways.
Thank you for commenting!
great video as always man
i would never suggest the game to someone. on EU Servers 6MMR (like 2k hours now there) are alot of cheaters. 3/4 players in a round are sussy russians or china boys with often times vac
There’s was a damn fine video.
And there's was a damn fine comment. Thank you brother
Cheaters are a bigger problem then you think, most use walls, and they are in EVERY MMR, it's not a minority, it's easy to find the evidence, and even the devs already admitted cheating IS a problem, people even believe some .. supposedly good streamers are NOT ever cheating, while they getting exposed left and right last year and this year, most have 10 alt accounts to to make their video's that basically is exploiting (cheating) as well. imho
just having a quik peek in a cheater forum look on a cheat website or social media's r even content creators uploading video's of them blatantly having WH on, and see how many likes and comments they have you CAN'T tell me it is NOT Rampant , every game is rampant but Hunt NOT ? Common now.
secondly most are using WH with sense , they hold the angle or wait for you to peek only for them to have the inhuman reaction to shoot you first , this is how most cheat on EU at least.
"You used to be able to get every skin in-game by playing game."

Crytek and working are two very different kinda things
Hard disagree. They're always working. They just have some of the worst communication ever.

Ever played WoW?
Salveskin still sucks, and you can burn people with fusees, flares, nearly anything lol
Solo Necro becomes strong in large scale fights within compounds where if you watch a body for a period of time, you're greatly at a disadvantage.
Solos= k.d farm
I’m sorry, but you ABSOLUTELY still have to listen and think.
Seconds
Seconds? What are ya eating? C:
44,527 all-time peak"
Hunt showdown hit its highest player count ever last year on steam during tide of shadows, when they released rotjaw. "44,527 peak June 2023". You do realize that the games population is heavily reliant on current events in game right? And we're hitting the lowest slump in the cycle because the current event JUST ended last week, and we're waiting for the next event. Similar to three months after an expansion in a card game.
Peak players three months ago when this event had just come out "38,606 March 2024"
The player count is still very good.
Be better.
