Scotland is amazing. I’ve traveled right up to John O Groats, up one side and down the other on the coastal roads, in a car and caravan. It’s a myth that it’s freezing all the time. No it’s not the best weather in January-March, but after that it’s wonderful. In summer it hardly gets dark and I remember my mum reading in the middle of the night with no light on and the views are spectacular. Then you’d do a road trip to Lands End to see the other end of Britain and compare. I have such lovely memories of holidays in our caravan as a child with my parents, visiting places I’ll never forget.
No matter what y'all do with the channel we will be tuning in. Y'all are truly fun to watch and we've enjoyed every vlog. We enjoy traveling along on your travels throughout the world, cooking at the lodge, seeing your family, and meeting your friends. Here's to a fantastic 2024
Please don't give up the parks completely. Found your channel years ago with your Disney/Universal trips and your pure excitement and appreciation of everything is so refreshing. It's nice to see the perspective of a vlogger at Disney instead of Disney Vlogger. Excited for you on your 2024 plans.
Just trying to catch up on all the vlogs as we were in Florida for 6 weeks. We very rarely go to the parks now unless we have people coming over to join us, and use our villa as a base to travel. There is so much more to see and do so thanks Leigh for mentioning. As for the UK you need to go to Anglesey in the van. The beaches are amazing. Keep up the wonderful vlogs. 😊
I’m Glaswegian and my family live in England and I can honestly say Scotland is no colder than parts of England 😅 I think the higher north you go in the winter the colder it gets , but normally it’s just as cold as anywhere in uk .. 😘😘
Wherever you two go or whatever you do, it’s great that you let us join you via your vlogs etc, thank you and I hope all your 2024 adventures go well and you keep safe 😊
When we did caravaning, my wife would do all the inside stuff, packing up and securing the interior, my job the exterior, walk around the vehicle, pack up waste and water, disconnect power, raise the legs, then walk around again and look under for anything we put under there, then walk around again so 20 feet away to check the roof so we could see if any top hatches were open, bit of a pain but it ensures all is OK before driving off, I think you can download a check list of the caravan club site.
Great plans, I love your travels. You visit lots of lovely places- saves me going! 🤣 Oh and Nick Scotland is cold but lots of lovely places to see. 😜 Xx
We’ve been to Florida several times now without park tickets and love it. We still go to Disney Springs and book a meal at a Disney resort to get our Disney fix. And we will do an after hours event if one is running. But other than that we just explore different bits of Florida.
Awww Nick I'm sad that you don't want to visit Scotland but hopefully one day you will change your mind, I always enjoy your travel vlogs wherever you go though, I love seeing new places through your eyes. We managed to get the Paramount tv on the deal too,we are watching yellowstone just now,it's so good. 💙💙 xx
What a year 2024...Loving it. Can you say in Yr next vlog approx when you will be planning South of France going into Spain? That is my area..😊 BTW...I watched a film on Disney called The Journey...80s movie...Nick you look just like a Very Young John Cusack. You are both Peter Pan Boys. Lee, you look Beautiful, I don't think you need to lose a pound. Hugs guys. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ireland, go to Ballycotton and visit Ballymaloe. Shetland, put the van on the Northlink ferry and get a cabin on ferry, You can also take the ferry from UK to Rotterdam. Vera is coming, how nice.
We’re on our 4th motorhome. After years of experience, we know how easy it is to forget something. - we’ve done some howlers in our tIme. So I do the inside checks. My husband does the outside ones. We never interfere with each other’s allotted tasks. But before driving so much as an inch, together we verbally run through the critical (AKA potentially expensive) checks - hook up lead, roof hatches, ramps and garage door locks. All other possible oversights are low risk and easily resolved en route. With crash detection sensors, we no longer turn the gas off for every journey. Hope this helps.
I know you will love Jackson, Wyoming. Jan will be very cold and snowy, ski season. We visited Jackson and Yellowstone several times and really loved it. My husband was Air Force, so we also lived in Tacoma, Washington. I loved going to Seattle and Portland, but the very best is to take the ferry boat from Wash up to Canada. Very beautiful there.
We have a large American caravan. Husband does all the outside set up/take down and I do all the inside stuff. We have a natural order of doing things so we arent bothering each other with "have you done this" questions and are responsible for our areas (checklist is now in our heads). Now its a quick process. We also carry a tool box with extra stuff in. Our first trip out with the brand new camper and all the electrics failed (we were in the middle of nowhere Alaska)
Hi guys, When starting the van wait twice for glow plug light. So basically let the little coil light go out then knock the ignition off then switch back on again until lights go out again. This will then warm up the glow plugs and will start easier it’s quite common for diesels to struggle a little when colder.
My hubby worked in Wyoming for years and February is ffffffrigid cold with the possibility of a ton of snow. I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention that a February road trip from WA to WY could be problematic. Even right now we are in the Midwest with blizzards, heavy snow and temps considered incompatible with life. My advice to you is visit Jackson any other time than winter, you’ll enjoy it so much more. If you ever make it further north and fancy an Alaskan Log Cabin holiday just let us know ! (It’s our Airbnb property, you’d have it all to yourselves)
I'm surprised I didn't bump into you both I was there over Christmas and New years day was beautiful but like you said it was packed wish I had seen you both.
I'm in Seattle! It's so fun to hear that you're thinking of coming to this part of the country! I'm not sure that I would put January at the top of my favorite months to visit list. It's currently 24 degrees Fahrenheit (-4.44 Celsius). 24 isn't average, but it's not unheard of...For perfect weather, July is best, then probably May (still a few rainy days, but beautiful) or August (if we don't end up with smoke from wildfires). Fall can be really nice as well. Hope this doesn't put you off the idea of coming here, but I'd love to see you have the best experience. I'd be happy to answer any questions. Happy New Year!
We have done Florida for 20 years and hardly ever did Disney. There is so much more to do and see and we didn’t miss it at all. We would just do the water parks on a rest day as kids loved it and we had lots of fun. We always stayed in an apartment or villa so that we had a pool as well. Our last trip was 2020 but it was cancelled just before lockdown and haven’t been back since. Really miss it but we have been going to Europe and having more little holidays throughout the year instead.
If you do decide to go to Haverfordwest , ask them to take you to st.David’s which is 15 miles from Haverfordwest , it’s Great Britain’s smallest city , which has a magnificent cathedral there , and amazing beaches and stunning coast paths
Come to Scotland guys it will give the van a proper test. Your vlogs are great fun to watch and you guys are so good together. My kids liken me to you Nick and my wife to Lee lol. All the best for 2024.
Guy’s great vlog and thanks for the update on future vlogs. I really appreciate the time you put into all what you do for us especially Florida thoughts and your thoughtfulness towards all yours friends in the uk and over the pond. I now follow them all and as we say in Scotland the banter is class viewing and and quality. Thanks again and I’m sure you’ll do a trip up to the lovely warm part of our country Scotland.
I have Starlink in Canada as we live rural , we have had it over a year and had no problems at all! It is pretty pricey I pay $165 a month and you have to buy the equipment too which was $800 up front!
You should do the north coast 500, you will be blown away, white sands and turquoise waters of Achmelvich beach and of course the most beautiful scenery you will ever see.
You aren't the first to forget to disconnect the hook up cable, and you won't be the last! I was pulling off a fully serviced pitch when there was an almighty bang! Jumped out (well, much as a 70 year old can!) to find that I'd pulled the cable out of the post, fortunately it didn't damage the post and it had stayed connected to the van socket - phew! We do have checklists, it's just a matter of remembering to look at them!
I'm with Leighbon the explore Florida thing. We've not done parks since 2015. Love the beaches and exploring the state. Disney has changed. All about the money and making you stick your nose in your phone. Not my idea of a holiday. X
Will look forward to your road trips and learn more about places on UK I’ve not visited. My first trip in brand new caravan I left the roof window open 🤦♀️ the blind flew off the track lol I only did it the once 😂 I found collapsable boxes handy to pack food, clothes etc and easy light storage in the garage.
There is nothing wrong with having a social drink or even getting tipsy the problem is when people drink every day and can’t cope without it. Don’t punish yourself over having g a drink when with fiends
Exciting times for you and the channel guys. Completely agree in regards to Disney parks, much more to Florida than the parks. My favourite vids of last year was your New York ones, I’d love for you to visit there again, best @ Xmas time!
Hi guys still trying to get caught up 😱😱. Just watch this vlog heard you say about Jackson Hole well we just had a 7 week road trip round west coast then did Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone Park and stayed in Jackson Hole it was amazing place you would love it the scenery is amazing. Please feel free to contact us if you want to see any photos etc Yellowstone was amazing wild animals as well!!!
Thanks for Explaining your plans you two your plans sounds good What do the Council do around the Lodge while you at Apartment I can't can't understand there reasons why they wont let you stay ???? So looking to your travels stay safe guys till next time David x
I'm with Leigh get the thermals ready. Have friends who stay in Jersey and they got snow, maybe not much but enough to cause chaos because most of the locals never see snow let alone drive in it
Holland, you should really go visit the Efteling, it's on par with Disney. There is even a rumour that Walt Disney went there to get inspiration for Disneyland CA.
We r going Orlando this year ….first time going without getting Disney tickets ,used the money for a 6 cruise while there x felt it was to expensive and lost its magic Disney x gatlinburg Tennessee lovely to visit x
When you need to use a caravan site locally, my family own an adult only “tranquil park “ at Brandesburton. Get in touch and we will gladly put you up to try out your van .😊 Caroline x
Hiya guys, great vlog and looking forward to seeing more of your trips and places you visit, we were going to go to Florida in 2025 but change our plans as we are thinking of going to new York and Lapland instead, we have been many times and it is becoming very expensive plus we like to travel to other places, thanks for sharing your day, 👍
We live in Scotland, the weather's been warmer up here than down south for the past 2 weeks. The North Coast 500 would be worth looking into for your van journey. We'll stick the kettle on if your passing us 😂
Sounds like you have lots of plans, how exciting!if Nick says he wants warmth,Seattle & Wyoming in Feb,would be very cold & snowy, just saying!!Be nice to show Vera around also….🇨🇦
I cannot believe I missed you both, I was in bridlington new years day, went to spoons for brekkie then we had lunch in the busy bees chip shop. Also tesco clubcard £10 captain morgans rum non alcoholic is definitely worth a try
If you are flying to Seattle then you have to take a side trip (quick 3 hour flight) up to Alaska. Its absolutely stunning. We would be happy to show you around in 2025 (not Jan 2024 because Im escaping the snow here in Anchorage and heading to home in Leeds next week where I hear theres a snow storm about to happen :( )
We went to Pym kitchen its my favourite eat out, the food is a buffet style but great fun, giant pretzel, very science theme. try the marvel bar too cocktails are lush in hotel new york & you see ironman flying across the screen above the length of the bar, loved it 👌 definitely worth a few drinks in 👌
I’ve been saying to the hubby for ages you guys need to take the van to us in Ireland! My advice get the ferry from Scotland to Belfast do game of thrones, titanic, giant causeway etc then down to Dublin you can park up at ours 😊. Donegal, galway, Kerry, cork, Wexford so much for you to explore
I agree go to Ireland 🇮🇪 cork is beautiful I know I have family around Cork and Dublin as my mum family are Irish ☘️ and live in Ireland 🇮🇪 it is beautiful
Beware, Starlink is locked to a regional 'square' unfortunately, there are travelling versions but they are designed for commercial use like ferries/cruise ships - obscenely expensive. Jason.
If you go back to homefirth I surprised you not met up the the slaw adventures who are on TH-cam they are travel bloggers and they live in homefirth, also I surprised you not taking an air fryer in the van as well you can get a jackery for extra power.
Don’t be so negative about Scotland, you’re really missing out, it’s not Siberia, we do have lovely weather and it doesn’t rain all the time, that’s not true. So much beautiful scenery, and please venture further than Glasgow or Edinburgh, there is life further north, in fact the city of Inverness is a great place to stay and use as a base to travel in all directions, plus beautiful Loch Ness, i can vouch for that. Could show you around if you wish ❤️🤗🏴
Leigh I don’t see you have put a stone on at allll!!! You look lovely as always! 😊. I don’t see Nick has put on either but totally understand the concern. I have put on half a stone and definitely notice it…. The good thing is, no one else seems to notice at all!!!😊 xoxox
I think its always the individual themselves who notices when they put weight on. Everyone has their ideal weight and they know when they have gone over it. No one else notices
@@TheLodgeGuys AHH bottoms!! I know my dad's got one and it works well I'll try and find out which one it is and let you know. I fear you may have this issue most years depending on how much you use her. Love the vids btw 😁
Wow how exciting cant wait to see all your planned ( And not 😂) Adventures this coming year ps Leigh thats the strangest beans on toast ive ever seen 😂😂😮😮😅😊
100% more than welcome, then you could start your drive to the Vee, or to the Nire Lakes for some savage walk 🤣🤣 6-8k total up and down steep mountains, Mitchelstown caves aswell... ye could drive the copper Coast road very famous scenic drive, multiple beaches alone the way,or we have Mahon Falls all within driving distance from my drive way 🤣🤣🤣 now google away
Bonnie Scotland is waiting on you guys 👍🤗♥️ love you both xx
We will be up one day for sure ! ☀️😎

Love seeing the real life vlogs at home or on travel! It’s still escapism for me. Looking forward to your 2024 adventures xxx
Thank you for watching 💖

We are like you…..love Florida with or without the parks…..👍❤️
Could easily see us going without park tickets some day

Scotland can have beautiful weather in April and May, and okay, I may be biased 😊 but we have a gorgeous country 🏴❤. Hope to see you here soon.
You don’t know what you’re missing not coming up to Scotland Nick 😢but thanks for everything you share with us. All the best for 2024🎉

Ireland, go to Ballycotton and visit Ballymaloe. Shetland, put the van on the Northlink ferry and get a cabin on ferry, You can also take the ferry from UK to Rotterdam. Vera is coming, how nice.
Very exciting year ahead for you both. Looking forward to the vlogs. Definitely visit Ireland. The Wild Atlantic Way in the van will be stunning!
👍💖

We will be doing that too. Hopefully we wont make the cable mistake again now we have done it once

I'm surprised I didn't bump into you both I was there over Christmas and New years day was beautiful but like you said it was packed wish I had seen you both.
When I went to Disney Land Paris one February it snowed the whole time. I'm with Leigh...thermals needed xx

Thanks for the weather tips. Still not 100% sure when it will be yet
I'm looking forward to some West Yorkshire stuff. I'm a Lancashire lad myself but West Yorkshire is where my heart is.
The NC500 route looks amazing, you guys should put that on your list when it warms up a little x
Definitely!!
We have done Florida for 20 years and hardly ever did Disney. There is so much more to do and see and we didn’t miss it at all. I’m looking forward to the van videos there going to be amazing ❤x
Cant wait for the van vlogs - Malham Cove is stunning guys for an overnight stay & theres a waterfall as well
Guy’s great vlog and thanks for the update on future vlogs.
If you go to the south of Holland there is a town called valkenburg near Maastricht, and Leigh you can buy cloggies (slippers shaped as clogs)
I live in North Wales and we go to Wetherspoons in Mold and Chicken Curry. Love there Food, and the Prices of the Beer.
I have Starlink in Canada as we live rural , we have had it over a year and had no problems at all! It is pretty pricey I pay $165 a month and you have to buy the equipment too which was $800 up front!
Really looking forward to your van travel vlogs. I must say I hate the Disney stuff but love all your other travel videos.
Just booked Florida for June using my companion voucher and points for the other flights, not doing the parks just Disney springs and city walk.
We need to write a checklist (and laminate it ! 😂)

You will always make fabulous vlogs ❤️
Hi guys still trying to get caught up 😱😱. Just watch this vlog heard you say about Jackson Hole well we just had a 7 week road trip round west coast then did Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone Park and stayed in Jackson Hole it was amazing place you would love it the scenery is amazing. Please feel free to contact us if you want to see any photos etc Yellowstone was amazing wild animals as well!!!
Love Yorkshire, looking forward to your walks, think I'm due another visit to Piece Hall. Love it 😀
I laughed out loud at Nick ‘sorting’ his stuff. The room was trashed. 😂. Always gets worse before it gets better.😅
Thanks for Explaining your plans you two your plans sounds good What do the Council do around the Lodge while you at Apartment I can't can't understand there reasons why they wont let you stay ???? So looking to your travels stay safe guys till next time David x
If you want local then either South Cliffe at Brid or the White Cottage just outside Hornsea
You have probably checked this out, but there are a few ready to go checklist apps for setting up/ breaking down your camper
Good tip bazza. Will have a look for them
I'm with Leigh get the thermals ready.
Make a laminated checklist and you can stick it and a dry erase marker on the inside of one of of the cabinets for quick access
The tent you see on the beach, when you are on your travels you could put the portable loo in as your cubicle for using the loo
We r going Orlando this year ….first time going without getting Disney tickets ,used the money for a 6 cruise while there x felt it was to expensive and lost its magic Disney x gatlinburg Tennessee lovely to visit x
If you can go to Paris in the freezing cold, you can come to Scotland lol, lots of exploring to do in Scotland 😊
exactly! We will definitely be going up in the van at some point !
Nick uou and Leigh are so funny, Nick such a control freak.
When you need to use a caravan site locally, my family own an adult only “tranquil park “ at Brandesburton. Get in touch and we will gladly put you up to try out your van .😊 Caroline x
Great vlog hope you have a great new year
Thank you! You too!
Hiya guys, great vlog and looking forward to seeing more of your trips and places you visit, we were going to go to Florida in 2025 but change our plans as we are thinking of going to new York and Lapland instead, we have been many times and it is becoming very expensive plus we like to travel to other places, thanks for sharing your day, 👍
Always nice to see other places after you have done one place a number of times
We live in Scotland, the weather's been warmer up here than down south for the past 2 weeks. The North Coast 500 would be worth looking into for your van journey. We'll stick the kettle on if your passing us 😂
We will definitely be doing Scotland at some point !
Can't wait 4 the 2024 vlogs.
Noticed you guys have a Rituals Car air freshner! If you havent already, thoroughly recommend the ‘life is a journey’ orange & cedarwood scent!🤞🏼
Sounds like you have lots of plans, how exciting!if Nick says he wants warmth,Seattle & Wyoming in Feb,would be very cold & snowy, just saying!!Be nice to show Vera around also….🇨🇦
💖💖
I cannot believe I missed you both, I was in bridlington new years day, went to spoons for brekkie then we had lunch in the busy bees chip shop. Also tesco clubcard £10 captain morgans rum non alcoholic is definitely worth a try
Didnt even know non alcoholic rum was a thing tbh. Might give that a try
We rest a little warning sign on the dash to tell us our camper is plugged in. We had a few close calls before doing that 👍
Thats a good idea
Nick you are funny, Jackson hole, Wyoming is colder than Scotland, at the mow it's -10 🥶🥶
we won't be doing Jackson in the van :)
Snowdonia North Wales is amazing especially spring/summer , you could do the longest Zip line it's so good
we did the zip line when we walked up Snowdon back in 2020 it was fab (zip line that is not walking up Snowdon)
We went to Pym kitchen its my favourite eat out, the food is a buffet style but great fun, giant pretzel, very science theme. try the marvel bar too cocktails are lush in hotel new york & you see ironman flying across the screen above the length of the bar, loved it 👌 definitely worth a few drinks in 👌
Re: Seattle/Wyoming trip in February -please research the weather for that part of the U.S that time of the year
I’ve been saying to the hubby for ages you guys need to take the van to us in Ireland!
I always think of you guys when I pass Madonna inn, we live very close by.
How lucky, you can have that seasoning whenever you want lol. Have you tried it ?
Beware, Starlink is locked to a regional 'square' unfortunately, there are travelling versions but they are designed for commercial use like ferries/cruise ships - obscenely expensive.
Jason.
I went to Paris in February once and it was freezing, I’d pack your thermals!
If you go back to homefirth I surprised you not met up the the slaw adventures who are on TH-cam they are travel bloggers and they live in homefirth, also I surprised you not taking an air fryer in the van as well you can get a jackery for extra power.
One day we may get a small air fryer for it but they use a lot of power. Will see how we go
Nice One Guys ❤.
Thanks 🔥
You will love Seattle Astoria and Cannon beach down the Oregon coast
💖👍
Don’t be so negative about Scotland, you’re really missing out, it’s not Siberia, we do have lovely weather and it doesn’t rain all the time, that’s not true. So much beautiful scenery, and please venture further than Glasgow or Edinburgh, there is life further north, in fact the city of Inverness is a great place to stay and use as a base to travel in all directions, plus beautiful Loch Ness, i can vouch for that. Could show you around if you wish ❤️🤗🏴
Dont take any notice of nick lol. We will definitely be going to Scotland at some point in the van. I cant wait. Leigh
@@TheLodgeGuys yes you’re right - I hope to lose what I’ve put on, I just feel better in myself when I’m about half a stone less!!
Hi guys. You can buy battery chargers that also recondition your battery. It maybe a worth while purchase for you. Just an Idea 😊
we have one it didn't work over time it lost it's voltage
@@TheLodgeGuys AHH bottoms!! I know my dad's got one and it works well I'll try and find out which one it is and let you know. I fear you may have this issue most years depending on how much you use her. Love the vids btw 😁
Great video. I don't think you wanna go to Wyoming in the winter time because they get massive amounts of snow.
Would love to see you guys do the NC500 route in Scotland
Wow how exciting cant wait to see all your planned ( And not 😂) Adventures this coming year ps Leigh thats the strangest beans on toast ive ever seen 😂😂😮😮😅😊
Hey guys, what is the link for that Jackson, Wyoming webcam you mentioned you used to watch with your mom? Thanks.

We can park up in your drive lol
100% more than welcome, then you could start your drive to the Vee, or to the Nire Lakes for some savage walk 🤣🤣 6-8k total up and down steep mountains, Mitchelstown caves aswell... ye could drive the copper Coast road very famous scenic drive, multiple beaches alone the way,or we have Mahon Falls all within driving distance from my drive way 🤣🤣🤣 now google away
When you go to Jackson Hole you have to go to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national park.
