    Just fitted my pair, couldn't get the screws out on the wheel arch, all the holes under the sill were clogged up with dirt/rust so took ages to get any bolts in, the poppers cracked when putting the plastic back on and the step took a right shove to get in place...but looks great afterwards, thanks for the vid

    Hi you are correct - Originally Landrover did supply the pre-cut sill with the kit but i guess cost down pressure ( cost not sales price ! ) means that this is no longer included. They should give some indication of how / where to cut in the instructions.

    I guess 20 minutes was a little optimistic ... I have never actually timed the fitting start to finish when we have done it. I hope the video gives people the confidence to have a go themselves ! ( even if they don't buy from us ). Thanks for the comments.

    I know this I a fairly old video, but it's really well put together and you guys do make it look like pretty straight forward.
    I'm wondering whether you guys do a fitting service at all?
    Thanks

    Excellent video, one of my side steps frame has snapped so was looking to see how easy a job it was to do, I imagine our local stealership will charge well over £500 to do this, so buy a set of steps off eBay for about £100, and by the looks of it an hour or so of my own time. And the brucie bonus as we say here in great Britainshire I can repaint the sills whilst I’m at it and everything is off. Thanks for another superb instructional video, you guys are great.

    I appreciate this is an old video and you no longer sell these but if I already have OEM side steps already fitted, would the step part fit onto the original brackets?
    TIA

    Where did you purchase this kit from? I would like to get that same kit that includes the pre-cut panels.

    Thanks Guys, vid was great. I have the 2008 Range Rover Sport and it appears the step on the passenger side has rusted underneath. Is this common given that the car is 12 years old. I will be looking to replace them both or one soon. How much are new/used replacement steps as it looks like i could fit them myself as its a replacement?

    • @L663
      @L663  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have steps already fitted some of the hard work is already done
      The steps do suffer with brackets rusting - look on ebay etc for replacements they are not that expensive.

    well i did it today:) it took for me 5 hours. but i had to cut original plastic parts.
    but after that i got CHECK ENGINE light.
    are there any cables inside the body and is it possible to short them?

    • @SeQueLTs
      @SeQueLTs 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paulius Sukys it was EGR P140A. i think its not because of side steps :)

  • @L663
    @L663  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Or because people with smaller cars open the car doors and hit your paintwork ( unless you have side steps fitted )

    Old video I know, but have you discontinued selling these?
    One of my 2007 side steps the chrome strip is pinging off, looks like the rivets have succumbed to corrosion
    Thanks

    • @L663
      @L663  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - we stopped selling them as the market was flooded with cheap product and we could not compete. They are heavy and bulky to stock so we stopped selling them.
      The rivets are most likely aluminium so should not rust as such although they do corrode. It could be steel underframe ?

    • @aakeister
      @aakeister 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, looks like the rivets have corroded. In two minds to repair or replace with shiny new ones 😄

    What are the names of the can of grease (used on bolts) and the bottle of oil (used on edge)? Thx

    • @Isaacniitetteytetteh
      @Isaacniitetteytetteh ปีที่แล้ว

      Copper grease. For the edges, you can use any household oil or lubricant. You can even use the liquid soap used for washing utensils

    I installed this kit & I had to cut my original OEM moulding bcuz the pre-cut 1's that came wit the kit, are made out of real cheap material & wasn't lining up right... So anybody interested in buying my pre-cut let me know, cuz it's just sitting in garage. I except PayPal 😀😀😀

    На пороги денег хватило, а на новую резину не хватает? И вообще когда крутишь болты-гайки, крутить надо гайку, а не болт, во избежание повреждения резьбы. 6:48 показано.

    why would a road car need a step? oh right, because its laughably oversized!
