Yep, pre-ordered the iPhone 12 Mini after some back and forth I always go for the pro models but I'm ready to return to a one-handed phone and the camera differences weren't enough for me. I genuinely can't wait to try a smaller form factor phone again.

I like big phones, and the 12 Pro Max is too big even for me. Makes me even more miffed that the new better camera modules are exclusive to that size. I've been waiting for years for iPhone cameras to start being more competitive with even older devices like my previous Nexus 6P and Pixel XL, which are still the best phone cameras I've ever used. We're finally there. Hoping the next gen standard Pro model gets the improved camera and brings the Pro line back into parity with eachother as they should be. Maybe USB-C there as a bonus, and I can finally feel justified in shelling out for an upgrade.

the same for me too! I have an X and I'm getting a 12 mini. X size is perfect but the phone is too heavy. the iPhone 12 is slightly lighter but even bigger than the X.

Thank you for the review Aaron. I am one of those who will be purchasing an iPhone 12 Mini. Been waiting a long time for this form factor with modern specs. Through out the years, we had hoped the SE would end up being like this, but fail to materialize. The SE 2, while it seems like a decent phone...still was not what a lot of us were hoping fore. The iPhone 12 Mini is what the SE2 should have been. That being said....Looking forward to finally getting a smallish iPhone with the squared sides. Been using a 5s for 7 years before it gave up the ghost. Picked up a 6s for $49 refurbished and its been running just fine, while I waited for this phone. iPhone SE (both generations) are supposed to be cheaper variations of older generations and in order to acquire that cheap option you have to make it’s design look “old school”. The next SE 3 will probably have this design
I think that the iPhone mini is going to be the run away best seller. A lot of folks have held off upgrading as the regular models are just to big for their needs. I know my wife is running with a iPhone 8 for the last couple years and loves the phone as it easily fits her lifestyle and also in hands. I do plan to take her to a store once they are more widely available and have her handle it and see if she likes it. One thing is she really likes the home button but she does a lot of swiping using her current phone running 14.2

Black colour seems like default for most reviewers, I have personally black regular 12 myself and looks and feels amazing, reminds me of black iPhone 4s a lot and when holding naked it’s like holding 5s. This 12 mini it’s such a perfect size for calls, texts and social media, for videos and using as sat nav the bigger size will do it better. This great for children too

Very in-depth first look. I appreciate that you spend a lot of time showcasing the phone and demoed the video capabilities. The audio sounds good, but kind of tinny. Maybe because I was used to the crisp audio from your recording mic. Overall, I am really excited to get mine. I got the exact same color and saddle brown leather case so this made me really excited. For the full review, please comment about battery life. Mainly, a typical day's use. I am not interested in stress testing the battery as it does not reflect normal usage. However, if you can, please test the phone for when someone would be traveling (even though this is not allowed during the pandemic); I am interested in seeing how the battery drains while using navigation, looking up places to eat/see, taking pictures, and other things you would do while exploring someplace. Also, I know you'll cover this, but charging times with wireless vs. wired. I am going to revisit your battery health video for those helpful tips to keep it at 100%. Thank you!
Just picked up the silicon case for my 12 mini. Now that I can get a feel for how big the phone itself is going to be, I’m really pleased that I made the right decision. I went from an 3GS to a 4S to a 6+ to an 8+, and while I loved the larger screen of the 6+ and 8+, I found the phone a little uncomfortable to hold and near impossible to type one-handed with. I can tell now that I’ll be much happier using the 12 Mini, it seems like it will be just big enough to allow for easy one handed use. I’m also giving up virtually nothing in screen size coming from an 8+. I’m really glad that Apple decided to make a phone that’s more ergonomic for people without yeti hands. However, I don’t really play games or watch lots of movies on my phone.

I have the 8 plus and as much as i like it, I really would like to get a smaller iPhone. Iv also owned the XR and it’s nice too but with my current job working with kids I find that these bigger phones get in the way a lot more. I think the smaller phone will be better this time. And I’m also sure there will be charging cases for this phone so battery life shouldn’t be a huge concern.
I don’t really think it’s an issue for most people anymore. That was a big issue for me with the previous couple of years, but with the 11 and 12 series it doesn’t bother me anymore as they increased the rate so you shouldn’t be able to perceive it
Actually 12 rate is the lower of all iphones (and modern smartphones) with a poor 220 Hz as notebookcheck guys observed. I had to return my regular 12 and I think I’m out of luck with the Mini!

@@AceCrickey I don't think I can :( Tmo has a 14 days return window and I exchanged my old phone for the giant rebate they were offering. 415 plus an additional 200 for those exchanging fully paid off phones and who've been customers for 5+ years. Its kinda worth it to keep it and simply buy the other one outright lol But I also did just buy the Max for my personal number, too. I'm trying very hard to not be THAT PERSON :P

@@Karinah193 For one line I traded in the 8plus and the other line I traded in the xr. Both were 256 gigs but Tmobile didn't care about storage - they could have been smallest capacity, the amount would have been the same.
Just picked up the mini in blue. OLED is a nice screen, stereo speakers really good volume. 12 megapixel wide for nice shots. Upgraded from iPhone 8. I like the size as it’s easy to pocket and slightly bigger than the 8 which was a 4.7.
Thé sound was amazing I had my iPhone earbuds in and when you switched to the video I was looking around to see If my my surround sound Bluetooth speakers connecting ....🤪🤣😆😄😂

I really like this phone because it's small and cute , great camera and display and iPhone 4 design. The problem with the 12 mini as well as the SE 2020 it's the battery. I currently have a Galazy A32 5G by Samsung with 5000 mah of battery and the battery lasts from 6 am to 7 pm. I can assume that the 12 mini (2200 mah) doesnt last 4 hours. I want to switch to Apple (From Android) but if i'm gonna get an iPhone i don't think i will ever get the 12 mini. Great specs in a tiny size but the battery for me it's more important than the portability. I need at least 3000 mah because I always use TH-cam , eBay , DeviantART etc. So the 12 mini it's not for me. I'll just go on a refurbished XR with new battery.

This would be my choice this year but with PWM it’s a no go. Hoping the technology improves to reduce the flicker. Great video as always 😊

You can’t see it with your eyes but it is how all OLED phones control brightness.

It doesn't last a full day I just got it and it lasts about 8 hours before charging.
Mines last throughout the day turn off the background settings stuff so it won’t drain the battery so fast. I do that to all my iPhones

Love the detailed analysis and the unboxing as such. The sound recorded seems a bit tinny and underpowered I should say, not liking the sound quality as such but again I may be wrong. Super video, enjoyed it and thanks for the wallpapers.
