Despite the fact that I invest, I am saddened by my inability to evaluate each company's performance and determine whether or not this is the ideal time to purchase stocks. I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. I've been working for a family owned catering business for about 10 years now and have some insights to share with anyone interested.
It isn't just finding a customer and making the food they want for an event and then boom profit. You need to work closely with both the customer, the venue staff, the various rental companies for equipment (tables, chairs, plates glass ware, linen, tables). You need to be able to hire the staff for the events (waitstaff, bartenders, cooks) and catering for most of the staff is not their full time job but a seasonal one so retaining workers overtime can be very difficult. You need the proper kitchen space to be able to prep and store food which would require a walk in fridge which goes for easily 10k , then have a way to transport all that food and equipment to the event which usually requires a box truck or a van which would easily run 30K for either.
So moral of the story, yes catering can be a profitable business, but definitely one you need to hire a dedicated team for, put in a ton of effort every week and having a large amount of capital to start up with the appropriate equipment needed to be able to do larger more profitable events. Any other questions about the business I would be more then happy to answer them :)

I just sold my pressure washing business this year. For personal reasons. But yes pressure washing is very profitable, I was charging $250 per hour for one guy. I offered roof cleaning, house washing, window cleaning, driveway cleaning, deck cleaning and stain removal. Although I did spend several thousand dollars the first year getting equipment, I brought in about $70,000 my first year. And then I added on dryer vent cleaning and gutter cleaning. The service industry makes pretty good money.

Food catering is so much harder than you have talked about here. You need to be or have a great chef. You need a great manager because you need lots of waiters and kitchen hands that are available for various sizes of events. You need a warehouse for logistics and so much more. It’s definitely better than a restaurant but it’s still a hospitality business and comes with all of the baggage of hospitality.

By far, the number one business model for anyone looking to start a business and build outside of their full time jobs that is extremely viable is network marketing. It's the only model I've found that is essentially turn key and you can leverage a company to take care of 90% of the logistics that you would have to deal with in any other model. I don't have to focus on RnD, legal work for new products, packing and shipping, I can go in over 100 countries and terriritories and expand my business because I don't have a building and employees. I can expand my business through a network of business owners rather than employees with a traditional model. The true work of my business if building leadership and teaching people to be profitable and then scale their business through other partnerships and model that behavior to them. It teaches you true applicable life principles for the things that truly matter like relationships. I've met many wealthy people, and by far the people that have the most freedom of time AND money are people that have built substantial network marketing THE RIGHT WAY that actually works and truly can provide more time freedom and an ongoing type of income.

Hi Nate, would you consider doing a video on stocks for dummies, so buying stocks for complete beginners? Such as what the words/terms mean, what equities and stuff like that are..what % one would get if it went up. I have the book but the explanation is still too complicated for me🙈🙈🙈

It cost alot to maintain and repair a boat and gas prices have sky rocketed making fishing charters not really that profitable right now. Also if you don't catch any fish there are half back refunds and may have to hire a couple of hands to help people fish, set up and clean up. There are also a ton of Fishing regulations and rules you have to follow and learn to a T.

If anyone is thinking of hosting events, please, please do reaearch into safety regulations, as well as basic water and bathroom accommodations for X-amount of guests. Once you've done that, go for it.

From SC, low country boil is the term your thinking of.
Pro tip, halve the potatoes so they better absorb the flavor. Triple up on seasonings, otherwise the flavor will be pretty weak. GGs Nate.

Import / export is a good idea but comes with governmental challenges… import sanctions, regulations in food / beverage, etc industries. Have to figure out a product type that’s not regulated and in high demand for that market. Also non-perishable.

You should research and do a blue collar type business ideas. Trades, services, and things like that. There's so little of that online and a big market for it. It's always about affiliate marketing and working from home or being a consultant. This is the only blue collarish video I've ever seen. There's so much more out there!
