@@larch6509 If the pilot sucks and stays in range for way too long, then yeah... Against a pilot with any sort of skill? No. Not even fucking close. Fliegerfausts only really work with a double tap and with the relatively short range, you really need coordinated strikes and both need to hit hard. That means (assuming a 4 man squad) 2 assaults that have to dedicate a gadget to AA, meaning fighting tanks is a bit more difficult. Other ground AA is just straight up useless, although the 40mms in the Pacific maps are a bit more viable due to better range and damage, but still not great. A skilled pilot will still kill you before you do enough damage to discourage him from strafing you. Regular 20mms from the base maps are like firing spit balls at a fucking tank. They are essentially pointless. And even if you do enough damage to kill them, 99/100 they escape by using their magic repair button that insta-repairs their plane enough to stay airborne and then come back and bomb the AA gun you were using. Ground vs Air combat is broken and far too in favor of the planes. Sad thing is, its not that planes are too powerful. Its more that their counters just arent strong enough.
Ok so fliegerfaust is now nerfed. And I can pretty confidently say that it is useless now. Only shoots 2 salvos that if you line up perfectly deals maybe half hp dmg. The plane just gonna get away and repair than when it comes back it kills you.
Honestly I think the fliegerfaust combined with the 20mm on the planes was a big mistake. It created this meta of flying as high as you can and shooting dots on the screen to remain out of the fliegers range. That's all most pilots do now and I think it's damn boring to do, as well as really annoying to deal with when you're on the ground. If you do it right you'll never be taken down unless the other team has goods pilots as well. I think DICE should have taken a different approach to counter planes, with MMGs being more effective and snipers being able to kill pilots, like it has always been up before BFV. Then getting close wouldn't be a certain death sentence for pilots and they would feel more confortable to try for straffing runs with regular machine guns instead of this ridiculous splash damage 20mm and every aspect of flying and trying to fight planes would be more skill based instead of the cheesy 20mm and the cheesy fliegerfaust. Like, honestly Silk, do you think it was challenging at all to get this 183 kills game? You admitted yourself that you'd edit most of that out if it wasn't for the many kills you got, so you know this kind of gameplay is a bit stale.

Although I have been able to shoot out pilots with the Stuka gunner seat, so I guess it's just a wrong impression that I got. And yeah, normal strafing was really satisfying because it was so hard, and it still was risky if there were tanks and assault players around.
@@AzafTazarden They definitely can, I've seen a few clips but they're rare. Old strafing was just more fun all round, but machine guns are so much more satisfying than easy explosive rounds.
I love using the extra lmg, increased speed, (what ever the third is in the middle, 500 pound bombs, at mines and enhanced control surfaces. I love dog fighting and ground attack but i dont find farming ground troops satisfying.
Silk thats understandable. I also like to help my squad when they cap objectives. bombing tanks, stationary weapons, snipers ect. I feel more like im helping the team that way to, especially when I shoot down planes that are tearing up our boys on the ground. As a side note i find it fun to watch you fly and rack up insane amounts of kills. I love the tactic of trolling them into advancing lol.
The increased speed can be really good for dogfighting BUT I find I overshoot anyone I’m chasing who cuts the throttle. I prefer the plane with the 6 HMGs and manual supercharger.

Air domination looks so easy in modern BF games like this & 2042. There is very little to counter a skilled pilot. Back in BF3 I was racking up 100 & 200 kill streaks nightly but had to work harder and play more defensively if the opps applied too much pressure. Landing to rep was an acquired skill especially in a jet. But now you can just fly away and rep midair. Man with the time saved doing that and no vehicle disabled mechanic I can only imagine what further damage I could’ve done with the Frogfoot or Attack Heli 🤔
Damn. These new planes are almost as OP as the trench fighter at BF1 launch. Only issue with these planes, and BF5 in general, is the lack of a skill gap in dogfighting. If the enemy pilots have a working set of thumbs and 2v1 or 3v1 you, it's almost impossible to do anything. BF1...and definitely BF4, you can win 2v1 or 3v1 if you're more skilled than your opponents.

Dogfighting is dead in this game, I do not understand why DICE developers do not keep the same codes for the planes from BF1 or even introduce an Air superiority for the pilots since the release of the game. Do you think DICE will fix the planes physics or have a better physics for the next game?
There is a reason why they don't copy the physics from other games according to a developer I talked to. Other than that I don't think it'll ever return to the glory of BF3/4 df but it has to be better than BF5 right?

Planes and helicopters always have been OP in Battlefield games. I keep playing BF3 and trying to shotdown a fighter or a heli is almost imposible. The AA vehicle has no chance against two fighters or a Heli with TV missile, and also you dont get varely any points while using it. Igla is a joke.
I don't really get what you say a few times in this video, that dogfighting is dead. I love dogfigfting in BFV, I'm always looking around to see whether my teammate is being chased and when they clear your six it's the best feeling.
i personally find i do well with both factions planes and find them quite equal. the rocket varients are slightly different with the upgrade path i like with the zero having better weapon cooling, but thats about it

timothy price sr I honestly think people are just too quick to say something is too powerful and needs nerfing. It’s not like every single person can hit a plane with all 3 bursts from the flieger, and even if they do it’s not always a kill. Sometimes it’s just the splash from the other bursts. You have to lead the shots quite a lot unless the plane is literally like 20-30ft away flying right to left/left to right across your screen. Some people take the time to practice getting better with these weapons or vehicles, and are bad at most everything else, that doesn’t make it OP. It just makes it seem OP cause someone is really good with it. It’s like the planes in BF1, and the AA cannons and other things. Lots of people would cry about the Attack planes or Fighter planes being OP, yet they couldn’t even fly the damn thing themselves. And they don’t even consider the fact that often times there was another Ace pilot on the other team who could shoot your plane down in under 10 seconds if you didn’t know how to lose them in the sky and get behind them. It’s like they killed by it and automatically assume it’s OP cause it killed them fast. If I got my plane destroyed by a pilot who was really good and I could never lose them or take them out with my plane, I’d spawn on a flag with an AA gun and blow them up, then go play till I died and get another plane. There’s always ways to counter these things, people just need to take the time to practice and get good at it and maybe they’ll realize it’s not as simple as hopping in a plane and going 50-1 or something...
Plane gameplay is so bad on console. PC is definitely the better experience. It’s hard to find games on console where you can just freely assault the ground troops. Usually you get stuck dog fighting the entire game. As you said it’s just a waste of time.

Meh. If the pilots on the other team were actually any good they'd have been able to stop this from happening. The AA Corsair rips Zero's to shreds, and coupled with the Flieger and the flak all over this map it takes a ridiculous amount of skill to pull this off as often as Silk does. In the right hands anything is overpowered, and as good as the Zero is it already has enough counters in the game for it to warrant being as good as it is. I mean before the Zero was introduced, flying in this game was a waste of time as well as being utterly boring. If they start nerfing planes as soon as it actually became fun to fly then you might as well just remove aircraft from the game altogether, as Dice clearly don't care about pilots if that happens.

I would like to see the ATG nerfed significantly on planes so that they just use bombs or w/e, but the flieger needs a big fat nerf so that planes can actually dogfight eachother without getting gibbed The game is in a weird state right now, where planes can dumpster infantry, but if you try to go plane vs plane (which is healthy for the game) you're punished by just getting fleigercheesed

Snipers can kill pilots, and I wish that you could strafe normally again but it's just too risky.

Dive, roll out left, zoom climb, pull over , dive, roll out right. Hint to opposing pilots, be at the top of that zoom climb when he is out of energy.

i personally find i do well with both factions planes and find them quite equal. the rocket varients are slightly different with the upgrade path i like with the zero having better weapon cooling, but thats about it

best ive went in a plane which as a bomber was 88-4 in the german ju- 88 lol, ive never seen you in the aussie servers at all dude are you on PC ? ,i havent really touched the new fighters and bombers just yet either didnt think their main guns did that much splash to inf lol, the aussie community is salty as fuck lately, most of us in our clan A1 get accused of either botting or using scripts lol

From the start of BFV I have no respect to pilot ( fighter Pilot I do before the Pacific ) I mean I could do it as well and so can you ... It's fun when you're doing it but it not fun when you're on the receiving end of it. At least in BF4 Flying is fun

@@SilkOCE Keep an eye out for him - gun pilot that would be a worthy dog fight clip. I'm a good pilot but I can't get close to this guy. Conquest in the Pacific maps is fairly safe for dog fighting - as long as no one is trying to farm the soldiers then they tend to pto.

timothy price sr this is literally 90% of any games playerbase... take to TH-cam as soon as game drops, search for the “this weapon is OP in ______” go into game and abuse it. It gets bitched and moaned about to the devs, receives a nerf, and then there’s something else now that’s OP that almost everyone abuses. No one likes losing anymore, even if that means playing the game in the most boring and lamest way by abusing something they know is OP.. it’s pathetic really.
Not arguing but how does that justify him on some videos griping about the fliegers. Planes are broken they scream realism yet no plane in history pre 1960s. Can do what these planes do in game. Let’s be honest I don’t really care I just find it funny he’s proud of making videos of using broken mechanics that need fixing and proud of it lol speaks allot about his character and morals
timothy price sr I honestly think people are just too quick to say something is too powerful and needs nerfing. It’s not like every single person can hit a plane with all 3 bursts from the flieger, and even if they do it’s not always a kill. Sometimes it’s just the splash from the other bursts. You have to lead the shots quite a lot unless the plane is literally like 20-30ft away flying right to left/left to right across your screen. Some people take the time to practice getting better with these weapons or vehicles, and are bad at most everything else, that doesn’t make it OP. It just makes it seem OP cause someone is really good with it. It’s like the planes in BF1, and the AA cannons and other things. Lots of people would cry about the Attack planes or Fighter planes being OP, yet they couldn’t even fly the damn thing themselves. And they don’t even consider the fact that often times there was another Ace pilot on the other team who could shoot your plane down in under 10 seconds if you didn’t know how to lose them in the sky and get behind them. It’s like they killed by it and automatically assume it’s OP cause it killed them fast. If I got my plane destroyed by a pilot who was really good and I could never lose them or take them out with my plane, I’d spawn on a flag with an AA gun and blow them up, then go play till I died and get another plane. There’s always ways to counter these things, people just need to take the time to practice and get good at it and maybe they’ll realize it’s not as simple as hopping in a plane and going 50-1 or something...
Plane gameplay is so bad on console. PC is definitely the better experience. It’s hard to find games on console where you can just freely assault the ground troops. Usually you get stuck dog fighting the entire game. As you said it’s just a waste of time.

To be honest with you, even if you get a lot of kills you really don´t help out your team that much. How ever if you flared a lot more that would really help them out a lot more and you would getting spotting assists at the same time. Win win!

Could you imagine only taking one death as infantry whilst running around the whole game & never stopping. That would be quite boring too. Its hard to never stop moving in a plane. If he landed for a few mins i would agree with you but its hard to constantly keep flying

Secondly, how can anyone say the fleig was overpowered after watching silk get 200 plus kills and single digit deaths while literally explaining how to stay out of the fleig range and taking AA out before they can be used... Meh. If the pilots on the other team were actually any good they'd have been able to stop this from happening. The AA Corsair rips Zero's to shreds, and coupled with the Flieger and the flak all over this map it takes a ridiculous amount of skill to pull this off as often as Silk does. In the right hands anything is overpowered, and as good as the Zero is it already has enough counters in the game for it to warrant being as good as it is. I mean before the Zero was introduced, flying in this game was a waste of time as well as being utterly boring. If they start nerfing planes as soon as it actually became fun to fly then you might as well just remove aircraft from the game altogether, as Dice clearly don't care about pilots if that happens.
@@GGMatt it's pretty hard to take down good pilots unless you've put like 500+ hours into flying and even then who knows.
I would like to see the ATG nerfed significantly on planes so that they just use bombs or w/e, but the flieger needs a big fat nerf so that planes can actually dogfight eachother without getting gibbed
The game is in a weird state right now, where planes can dumpster infantry, but if you try to go plane vs plane (which is healthy for the game) you're punished by just getting fleigercheesed
This. I wouldn't say I'm insanely skilled or whatever but ANYTHING in the game can be OP with practice. The plane does have it's counters, but i do think I make it look slightly easier than it is.
No nerf can happen unless the flieger is like totally fucked. Even if it still does like 30 damage it's OP since you have no way of dodging it.
