There's an easier way: take out the drawer, get underneath the desk and look up. The latch has two parts. One you can move with your fingers, one you can push with a screwdriver. Hold them both down and ask someone to open the desk.
I think the problem was his tool was a little too thin. I used a Phillips head that could fit in the hole but not all the way through, then jiggled it up and down and it came right open. Thanks for the method tho. Accidentally locked it moving it and don't have a key.

Probably the worst video I've ever seen. Even the person watching with me was yelling, "Get on with it!" Then, for the rest of the video, you literally just try to force it open with a screwdriver while gouging any wood nearby. 😡

He also didn't gouge any wood sewing as how he was mainly just moving the screwdriver around inside the locking mechanism itself where there is literally NO wood whatsoever. So no, definitely not the worst video even if it doesn't meet your ridiculous standards, you're just a hater. 🤷♂️

Thats a great idea i was trying to do that on my own but it didnt work since i had no body to help me
First , screwing around underneath is not easier and 2nd, no Donna it's not worthless. I've used this technique with great success.
