You Have Many Choices Of Colors And Different Petals And Shapes And Varieties. Petunia Suits In Hanging Basket Or Even In Pots. You Can Plant Many Different Colors In Single Pot Which Will Double The Beauty Of Flowers. Petunias Can Be Grown With Other Winter Flowering Plants Like Dianthus, Gazania, Hollyhocks, Calendula, Marigold, Nasturtium Etc. Petunias Can Be Propagate Through Cuttings But It's Difficult. Petunias Is Easy To Propagate Through Seeds And If Seeds Stays In Same Pot Or Same Place They Grow Itself When Season Arrives.
How To Grow Petunias From Seeds:-
1. Buy Good Quality Seeds Online Or Check Your Local Gardening Store Or Nursery.
2. For Seeds Sowing Use One Part Cocopeat, Half Part Sand, Half Part Vermi Compost, Tea Spoon Fungicide Powder Mix. Seive And Sundry Mix Before Use.
3. For Seeds Sowing Use Seedling Tray Or Pots. Cover Drainage Holes With Broken Pieces Of Clay Pots. For Seeds Sowing Six Inch Size Pots Are Ideal. If Pots Or Seedling Have Small Holes Then Do Not Cover Drainage Holes. We Cover Drainage Holes So Excess Water Can Drains Out Easily But Not The Potting Mix.
4. Fill Pot Or Tray With Above Mix. Keep Soms Gap On Top For Watering.
5. Moist Mix With Water And Put Seeds On It. Keep One Or Two Inch Gap Between Each Seeds. You Can Also Sprinkle Seeds On Mix If They Are Not Easy To Handle.
6. Do Not Cover Petunia Seeds As They Are Too Tiny And They Need Light To Germinate.
7. Moist Mix Again With Water. Use Mister Or Shower This Time So Seeds Will Not Go Deep Or Use Bottom Tray.
9. Keep Mix Moist Everytime.
10. Keep Pot In Partial Shade If Sunlight Is Harsh And If Sunlight Is Normal Then You Can Keep Pot In Full Sun.
11. Seeds Will Germinate Within 10 To 15 Day's. Some Seeds May Take More Time So Be Patience.
12. When Seedlings Have Four Five True Leaves And When They Are Easy To Handle At That Time You Can Transplant Them In Pots Or Grounds.
13. For Final Planting Use One Part Soil, Half Part Sand, Half Part Vermi Compost, Half Part Cocopeat, One Handful Neem Khal, Tea Spoon Bone Meal.
14. Use At Least Six Inch Size Pot For One Petunia Plant. You Can Also Plant Four Plants In 14 Inch Wide And Six Inch Deep Pots.
15. Make Sure Pot Have Drainage Holes And Cover Drainage Holes With Broken Pieces Of Clay Pots And Filled With Above Mix. Do Not Filled Full Pot With Mix, Keep Gap On Top For Watering.
16. Carefully Take Out Seedlings From Previous Pots With Tools Or Spoon Without Damaging The Roots (With Roots Attached With Mix).
17. Dig Hole In Center Of The Pot And Put Roots In It. Cover Roots With Same Mix. Roots Should Not Be Visible.
18. Give Water And Keep Pot In Partial Shade For One Or Two Day's. If Sunlight Is Not Strong Then You Can Keep Pot In Full Sun.
19. Remove Damage Leaves And Dry Flowers For Good Growth And More Bloom's.
20. Fertilize Every 15-20 Day's With Vermi Compost Or Fully Decomposed Cow Dung Or Amrit Jal Or Panchgavya Or Mustard Cake Liquid Fertilizer For Good Growth And More Bloom's. To Make Mustard Liquid Fertilizer Add 250 Grams Of Mustard Cake In Ten Liter Water And Stir Three Four Times In A Day. After 24 Hours You Can Add One Cup Liquid Fertilizer In Pot. If Liquid Is Thick Add More Water.
21. Before Season Ends Stop Removing Dry Flowers So Plant Can Make Some Seedpods. Harvest Seedpod When They Turn Brown And Dry On Plants. Petunia Seedpods Breaks On Its Own And Seeds Spread Everywhere In The Garden So Keep Watch On Them. When They Crack A Little Bit Cut Seedpods And Extract Seeds From It And Keep Seeds In Zip Lock Bags. Keep Ziplock Bag In Fungus Free Area. You Can Keep Zip Lock Bags In Refrigerator.
