    Awesome video!
    Also, I don't know if someone else has posted this (and its a hack, so know what you're doing when you do it) but if you need to access the TrueNAS dashboard via tailscale (instead of using it as a subnet router) then you can just check the "Host Network" box under the Network Configuration section.
    tl;dr: the container has access to the same networking your TrueNAS has.
    Be very careful with this though, and understand what this will do before you do it in production 😅. This effectively gives the tailscale container the same networking capabilities as your TrueNAS host.

    I love how the caveat for replication was at the end of the video. I installed Tailscale for that exact purpose lol. Good news is, your instructions were easy to follow.

  • @Jaredy89
    @Jaredy89 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You can uncheck userspace while setting up tailscale and this will open tailscale to truenas environment, showing up in networks so you can do replications.

    • @LAWRENCESYSTEMS
      @LAWRENCESYSTEMS  ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought that is what that did and I tested it but it still did not allow TrueNAS Scale talk to another TrueNAS scale for things like replication.

    • @Jaredy89

      @@LAWRENCESYSTEMS In my setup, I also have "bind to host network" at the bottom. Not sure if that makes a difference but I know I tried several different set ups until I made mine work.

Tailscale and Immich are both running and ready for connections according to the logs in Truenas Scale. obviously its Immich not talking to Tailscale. Ill keep on investigating. So I wanted to have a replications between 2 TrueNAS scale servers. But i was looking for tailscale client on TrueNAS - not in the container. Unfortunately you confirmed: not working...

    With the recent update I can't get Tailscale to install (stuck in deploying...) unless I void TrueNas support and disable "hostpath security checks"...which I did, and I still can't finish installing tailscale.

I am planning on setting up a production server for a client on their work site. I am looking to setting up a backup server to serve as sql backup for their data .
