    TREATMENT ALTERNATIVES TO INCARCERATION PROGRAM (TAIP)
    TAIP is a comprehensive screening, assessment, and referral (SAR) program initiated in 1992, and developed in collaboration with the Department of State Human Services (DSHS) to target the chemically dependent offender population who would benefit more from treatment services than from incarceration. The TAIP assessor administers the SAE assessment tool to utilize four of the seven ways to reduce recidivism. It is utilized to identify offenders who have the risk to re-offend and have criminogenic needs to receive services within the treatment resources of the Bexar County CSCD.
    TAIP provides SAR services to over 7,000 offenders per year drawn from pre-adjudicated referrals (PSI), mandated post-adjudicated referrals, and mandated referrals from violations of prior probation. The program provides not only SAR services but makes referrals for intensive and supportive outpatient substance abuse treatment services to Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC) employed by the CSCD.

      Yup I totally agree and the only reason he was grinning, hovering over the judge pretending he knows/is sympathetic over her having had a long day, was, that he THOUGHT, he'd get away with a slap on his wrist but he didn't believe she was the going to resist his BS joviality but she DID and sentenced him for he failed his chance!

      This guy has absolutely no impulse control-ZERO-and cocaine makes that worse! I was thinking as I watched that this guy was able to avoid the law until his mid thirties with a crap attitude and a drug addiction, but after hearing what he did to his brother, which should have been the biggest wake-up call of his life, he ignored it, and it called the legal universe down on him. I would bet he beat the mother of his children and any other women he was involved with but they were too afraid of him to even report it. His brother had to report his beating because it was so horrific, but he was too afraid of his attacker to press charges and that’s why I said what I did about the women in his life. Karma is a b@stard, that’s for sure!

    the time for the cop assault ran concurrent to the sentence he was already serving ... but it's not like he murdered the cop, he just ruined his first day, so I guess it's fair, he still gets a cop felony on his record which will cause him trouble the rest of his life if he doesn't walk the straight and narrow after release.

    I get so tired of people being arrested getting to assault a police officer and it gets thrown out. That just tells them and others, that it’s okay to do it. There needs to be a rule of no tolerance for assaulting an officer. Image being attacked over and over and the courts basically saying it’s okay. Wouldn’t you eventually get the mindset of bitterness, do we need more cops feeling like that. Watching the body cams give you such insight on the day to day abuse of officers, being spit on, bite, kicked, hit and insulted. I wouldn’t last a day before I would be in a bitter state of mind with the public. They need to show the police that they take crime serious and not just keep giving fines and probation

      They run concurrently - same time - so the 4 year sentence will be over before the 7 year sentence is finished. Additionally, with good behavior, he could be released after serving only 1/3-1/2 of that time (not sure what TX does).

      Nope in Texas it's day for day sentence. It used to be 85% of their sentence and he would have to do ALL 4 YEARS!!!! TEXAS Runs their prison sentences strictly and rightfully so. Once a defendant has been given multiple chances with their probation they are given either state sentence to state jail which is also day for day or they get federal sentence to prison. This guy is doing his time and he IS a convicted FELON!!! HE WILL NEVER CHANGE ALL HE WILL DO IS JUST INTERRUPT PEOPLE IN POWER WHO TRIED TO HELP HIM AND HE THOUGHT HE COULD GET OVER ON THE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND THE JUDGE BUT HE WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!! HAHA! SEE YA IN 4 YEARS SIR!!!

    It’s a shame to see again that Judge Boyd discards CBT, to work on changing his mind set through behavioural therapy for 10 weeks could have given him coping skills and help prevent relapse (ofc it might not have but good to try IMHO). I don’t know how much the programmes she puts these offenders in helps. It would be great if she would look CBT up in regards to drug addiction. Great to see both cases, these videos are addictive- might need CBT myself hahah! 💕

  • @yt650
    @yt650 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Here's the part we don't know about. I would've gone along with this if I was the defense attorney to see what the sentence was. They can withdraw the plea bargain and make them take him to trial which is the hard thing for the state/district attorney/prosecutor. Remember they have to impanel a jury and that's going to take a lot of work on the DA part, if you ever served on a jury or being called for jury duty you know what that's like. He's going to sit in jail anyhow so nothing ventured nothing gained. He may eventually get a better plea deal or if they take him to trial, the plea bargain agreement can't be held against him so what is there to lose, he has a public defender. There should be body camera footage and if you can spot something in there as a defense attorney the whole thing may turn around. You cannot believe the police, I was charged with disorderly conduct and fighting with first responders because they didn't like what I said to them and it wasn't anything vulgar or derogatory. I was forced to whip them all three Pennsylvania state troopers in a magistrates hearing and I did it pro se. You have enough information to realize in my case they were just being dirty cops. Would be interesting to know what the final result in this case was.
