The cool thing is, this one actually does look like the way a bear moves! I love these animal videos and explanations! Very clear and easy to follow and remember.
Thank You Dr. Alex! You and your teachings (practical and theoretical) are amazing! Please continue with your good work, but most of all take care of yourself!
Thanks so much for your clear explaination et demonstration. Your video is well organized, movement demonstration then step by step explaination, finishing by showing the whole movement. My taichi professor showed me this mouvement recently, but of course there is no way for me to digest all the detail at once. Your lesson is really valuable for me. Thanks for sharing.
This is my very first experience with the animal forms.Thank you for it. I really like that you film in a dance studio. Lessons outdoors in nature are distracting with all the background random things going on and it is sometimes really hard to hear the instructor because it is challenging getting good sound quality outdoors. Aren't you running ads? You aren't getting paid? That doesn't seem right.
Hi Marco, basically when you move upward (like lifting your knees) and go backward (like when your body shifts backward), you breathe-in. And when you go downwards or frontwards (like when you step down and shifts forward), you breathe -out. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
I think Qigong has something like 800 routines so you are going to run into a lot of different variations on your journey. The way I look at it, if I like it and enjoy doing it, I will keep it on my list of favorites to practice and commit to memory.
Hi Miguel. When we first learn, we can shorten the distance between the steps, just like normal walking. That would be easier to learn, plus less pressure on the knees. And once used to it, we can slowly start widening the steps.
The quality of your videos are really top notch, Alex. Makes it so much nicer to watch and follow! Thanks!
Thanks for your kind comments! Don't hesitate to let me know if you want me to cover any other topics :)
@@DrAlexHui Awesome! I would love to learn what Chinese medicine teaches regarding diet and nutrition :)

thank you for sharing the 5 animal frolics.
I’m having to relearn this . 😟I have a tendency to make up my own moves. Thank you for clear and patient teaching.
No worries Kathleen. Just be patient. It took me very long to learn this move. Just watch more, practice more and you will definitely get it! 😊👍
Thank you for the very clear, step by step instruction! Will be adding this to my daily routine.
Excellent video! I will definitely try to do it.
Thanks Joan! Let me know if you have any questions regarding the movements.

Are you based out of Seattle? I lived there about 5 years and your backgrounds always look familiar.
Thanks for the great instructions!
Hi Judah, great observation! Close enough, I live in Vancouver, Canada :)

How to use breathing?

That’s too hard
Its irritating to find so many different 5-animal-qigong versions. Some have also different animals. So why is that?

the hardest for my knees :/
