I'm Lenin ,from Thrissur, kerala. Ive given several attempts in CS (ICSI) . As life progressed I had to quit CS and took an ordinary accountant job and got married. Now I've a 5 year old kid. I rejoined CS but still I couldn't clear any groups. Life after marriage and kids gives you no time for any career building with a nuclear family. All I wish now is passing CS somehow and become a teacher at prominent classes of CS , CA for theory subjects. My dream is small. I'm 37 years old now.

I ordered and received your book today only and when started to read, first para of book itself is very much similar to my case. I am the one who miss out my fortune of being ca but still hopes to be CA without a proper action as I had in the beginning So far read nearly 30 pages and am able to relate completely my failure and where I missed out. Middle stage is absolutely correct where every one is missing out. I will read as many times as possible, because there is so much to learn . Kudos to bring this into world. This should have to be reached to all , pray for that and try to refer. I wish you to become a great mentor to many of aspirants in the future .

Thank you for the kind words. See, I would understand if you decide to quit this course. 12 years is indeed a long time. But if you want a fresh start to your career or life, I guess, only you can decide how to do it. Just check where your original interests lie. What are you willing trade off for pursuing that? For me, a slow lifestyle with lots of free time is my top priority. I was willing to trade off my steady-paying corporate job for that. I did a lot of thinking to figure out what I really want and then took my time to find an alternative source of income to be able to quit the day job. It didn't happen in one day. Took me almost 18 months to arrive at the path that I'm currently in. Such a slow transition. So, take a piece of paper and think by writing. like what you really want? what are you willing to sacrifice to achieve that? on those lines. No miracles will happen right after that. But that's the path. Keep on it. You'll eventually figure it out. All the best.

thank you for the comment. Yes, generally attempts at all stages will count. But people hiring qualified CAs, will specifically look for the number of attempts it took for Final. But also keep in mind, it differs from people to people.

I would suggest you to move to singapore you'd get what you want, though not easily but hardwork plus luck, its better to go to singapore rather than US UK or europe.

Sir first of all thanks for sharing this kind of positive videos, i am very much attracted towards your speaking Since this is my second attempt of ca foundation and the portions for paper 2 and paper 4 has become very vast so if I get stuck in a single concept for more time i get frustrated and it reduces my reading time ,and i am getting stressed for that whole day , how to overcome from this sir .
See, for approaching theory papers I follow a simple rule. I would assign a fixed time limit I spend on a given page. roughly 4-5 mins per page. As much as depth is important for understanding concepts, momentum is important as well. So, if you sit for an hour, go into research mode and read only 2 pages, then that's not so efficient. Panic will ensue. So, I will read the theory papers like how I read magazines. Just extensive reading. Not intensive reading. Even if I don't understand everything. Anyway, i'm going to revise those portions again. So, whatever I missed in the first round, I will cover it in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round. Also, when you keep a fixed time limit per page you create a sense of urgency. So, concentration naturally improves. it becomes like a game all of a sudden. Hope this helps.

Recruiters should basically feel you're a problem solver. If they have enough faith that you can provide solutions to their problems, then they'll be happy to give you a chance. Problem solving can be anything. it can be the ability to file IT, GST returns. or the ability to reply to the dept's notice. or the ability to do financial projections. or the ability to tweak and improve a manufacturing process. it's so broad that I can't pinpoint. In other words, just be resourceful.

If you need to learn multiple areas like finalization of accounts as well as filing GST returns, I would say, you join a mid-size firm which is not divisionalized. Meaning, the staff are assigned any work based on requirement. If you go to big firms, they will have teams and each team will handle only specialised areas like risk advisory, or tax, or stat audit etc. Once you get into one team, you won't get to do the work of the other teams. In the interview, just ask the partners will there be shuffling of resources across different domains of work. All the best.

I would definitely not recommend dummy articleship. I would say, you finish articleship and focus on clearing CA Final. I understand the urgency. But take it slow. first focus on clearing all the self-paced papers before the end of your articleship. By the time you come out of it, you will have all the time to clear Final. Even if you happened to get married, you can still clear group by group as there are only 3 papers per group. Just be done with the Self-paced modules as quickly as possible. Keep like 2 months per paper and finish them one by one. I wish you the best.

@@bookwormSTUDY you can work in the corporates. age wouldn't matter. but may not be as a fresher. but as a 3-4 year experienced. you might not expect an immediate job offer right now. but like I said in this video, if you build a strong resume, over the next 3-4 years, then defintely you get a chance. so focus on building a strong resume.

As long as you score good marks in CA, nobody cares about your Class 12 marks. Many people I know got average marks in 12th but cleared CA in first attempt and are having a great professional career.
I felt liberated. Like Will Smith from the Pursuit of Happyness. I felt the same way when I cleared my CA Final. I felt the same way when I got the offer letter. I was going through a troubling period for more than 3 years by then. This was special. :)

...i was wondering u gave 17 attempts.....so how do we calculate attempts....lets say i gave inter both group and couldnt clear and next attempt i gave i clear both...so is it 1+1=2 or 2+2=4
Number of attempts is how many times you appeared in a CA exam. single group or both groups or two papers. I cleared my foundation in my first attempt. Inter I failed 7 attempts, cleared in 8th attempt. Final I failed both groups 6 attempts. Cleared 1 group and 1 paper exemption in 7th attempt. Cleared the balance 3 papers in 8th attempt. So, 1 + 8 + 8 = 17 attemtpts.
@@CAHareesh ohh i thought if I failed inter both group once that means it's 2(g1+g2) Then if I clear in next attempt It means I cleared in 4 th attempt (G1 +g2 + g1 +g2)
Hello guys, want to have a discussion. I am in my third year of Bachelor's degree(BMS). I have interest in CA. I know I should have pursued CA after 12th std but I was ignorant and diffident (I am still unconfident) about it then. I want to know experiences of you guys, especially the ones who have pursued CA with direct route. I want to know whether pursuing CA after undergraduation is a good idea or should i drop the thought and prepare for other exams like (CAT, SSC CGL, etc.). I am diffident about studying for CA because I am not good at studies(especially theory), that's why I am uncertain, I just have interest in it(not sure about the reason tho :D). Also, I have heard that the syllabus of CA course has changed. Has it made pursuing CA easier in terms of studies?
You can pursue CA at any age. So, certainly after college you can take up CA. If you can study college syllabus then you should be good enough to study CA syllabus as well. Even theory papers. And CA syllabus does keep changing every once in a while. It's hard to say if they have made it easier or difficult. Whenever you see a reduction in the number of papers, they will balance it out by making something else more difficult. the course standard overall remains pretty much constant.
Sir if we have taken multiple attempts and as u mentioned we are already at loss so what are the skills we can aquire so that even after n no. of attempts at least our resume can be considered in good companies?
I would recommend you get as much as skilled as possible in Excel (aim for expertise), and then Power BI. These two will give you a better shape to your resume. All the best.

Yes, if you clear CA final in one attempt, it will definitely make your resume look better. But recruiters, definitely will ask about the gap it took in Inter. So, you might have to explain that. But yes, aim to clear Final in the first attempt itself.

hey sorry for your situation. I won't say you should quit CA just because it's taking quite long. Maybe if you just get your life around, get your act together, you can clear CA Final in the first attempt. That will reasonably undo the long duration you took for Inter. So, continue with CA if you think you can change your life completely. It's totally in your hands. But if you yourself remain hopeless about how you are going to change your life, then I would say, find some other alternative. And I don't know much about how much salary you can potentially earn. Hope this helps.
I really don't have a hack/trick solution for this. By rule of nature, if you let backlog accumulate, you WILL have to eliminate them bit by bit only. How can somebody expect to clear 3 months of accumulated portions in 3 days? Not possible, right? Just put in the hours. Backlogs will be gone in due time.

I would definitely not recommend dummy articleship. I would say, you finish articleship and focus on clearing CA Final. I understand the urgency. But take it slow. first focus on clearing all the self-paced papers before the end of your articleship. By the time you come out of it, you will have all the time to clear Final. Even if you happened to get married, you can still clear group by group as there are only 3 papers per group. Just be done with the Self-paced modules as quickly as possible. Keep like 2 months per paper and finish them one by one. I wish you the best.

@@bookwormSTUDY you can work in the corporates. age wouldn't matter. but may not be as a fresher. but as a 3-4 year experienced. you might not expect an immediate job offer right now. but like I said in this video, if you build a strong resume, over the next 3-4 years, then defintely you get a chance. so focus on building a strong resume.

As long as you score good marks in CA, nobody cares about your Class 12 marks. Many people I know got average marks in 12th but cleared CA in first attempt and are having a great professional career.

...i was wondering u gave 17 attempts.....so how do we calculate attempts....lets say i gave inter both group and couldnt clear and next attempt i gave i clear both...so is it 1+1=2 or 2+2=4
Number of attempts is how many times you appeared in a CA exam. single group or both groups or two papers. I cleared my foundation in my first attempt. Inter I failed 7 attempts, cleared in 8th attempt. Final I failed both groups 6 attempts. Cleared 1 group and 1 paper exemption in 7th attempt. Cleared the balance 3 papers in 8th attempt. So, 1 + 8 + 8 = 17 attemtpts.

Then if I clear in next attempt
It means I cleared in 4 th attempt
(G1 +g2 + g1 +g2)
It would be 3rd attempt for you. If u clear in next attempt

Hello guys, want to have a discussion. I am in my third year of Bachelor's degree(BMS). I have interest in CA. I know I should have pursued CA after 12th std but I was ignorant and diffident (I am still unconfident) about it then. I want to know experiences of you guys, especially the ones who have pursued CA with direct route. I want to know whether pursuing CA after undergraduation is a good idea or should i drop the thought and prepare for other exams like (CAT, SSC CGL, etc.). I am diffident about studying for CA because I am not good at studies(especially theory), that's why I am uncertain, I just have interest in it(not sure about the reason tho :D). Also, I have heard that the syllabus of CA course has changed. Has it made pursuing CA easier in terms of studies?
You can pursue CA at any age. So, certainly after college you can take up CA. If you can study college syllabus then you should be good enough to study CA syllabus as well. Even theory papers. And CA syllabus does keep changing every once in a while. It's hard to say if they have made it easier or difficult. Whenever you see a reduction in the number of papers, they will balance it out by making something else more difficult. the course standard overall remains pretty much constant.
Sir if we have taken multiple attempts and as u mentioned we are already at loss so what are the skills we can aquire so that even after n no. of attempts at least our resume can be considered in good companies?
I would recommend you get as much as skilled as possible in Excel (aim for expertise), and then Power BI. These two will give you a better shape to your resume. All the best.

They do. CFA, CPA qualifications are a definite value addition to one's resume.
What was your initial salary package?
Let's say I got the salary I deserved for the attempts I took and it was definitely more than 5 lacs per annum. And this was Feb 2017.

Yes, if you clear CA final in one attempt, it will definitely make your resume look better. But recruiters, definitely will ask about the gap it took in Inter. So, you might have to explain that. But yes, aim to clear Final in the first attempt itself.

hey sorry for your situation. I won't say you should quit CA just because it's taking quite long. Maybe if you just get your life around, get your act together, you can clear CA Final in the first attempt. That will reasonably undo the long duration you took for Inter. So, continue with CA if you think you can change your life completely. It's totally in your hands. But if you yourself remain hopeless about how you are going to change your life, then I would say, find some other alternative. And I don't know much about how much salary you can potentially earn. Hope this helps.
Sir please guide us how to clear backlog in the fastest & Efficient way possible
I really don't have a hack/trick solution for this. By rule of nature, if you let backlog accumulate, you WILL have to eliminate them bit by bit only. How can somebody expect to clear 3 months of accumulated portions in 3 days? Not possible, right? Just put in the hours. Backlogs will be gone in due time.
