Just remember if you’re using your inhaler every day, you don’t need to prime it and waste medicine that’s not what he meant🙂

Great video! My daughter received her spacer yesterday...what a difference it makes in distribution of her inhaler medication. Previously, she was just using an inhaler (which you showed her how to use), but now she feels that the medication is being inhaled....she can feel a big difference! Thank you for showing her how to use it properly!

The Tidal technique worked wonders for me! I am battling COVID and it attacked my lungs pretty bad to where I’m on an at home oxygen concentrator currently and prescribed an inhaler for the first time. Last night I didn’t feel like I got the medicine deep enough in my lungs and couldn’t hold it for 10 seconds, but today breathing deeply in and out with the spacer was much more effective for my condition! Thank you!

This was SO helpful. Thank you very much. i don't use my inhaler often but the current heat wave has really challenged my breathing. I used inhaler yesterday without spacer (I was out) and it didn't seem to do much. I made sure to do everything as instructed and WOW, I feel a great difference! I've never seen the second technique before and that was much easier for me to do. I work on a Community Health Team and am definitely going to share your videos with my teammates-they could be very helpful to patients who need more information/reinforcement.

@2:30 I'm just checking .. do you mean to breath in through your mouth and out through your nose. Or can all breathing be through the mouth while the spacer is still in my mouth?

"Replace the spacer every 6-12 months." I've had my spacer for 5+ years, WHOOPS. LOL

Question- Why does this work better than just breathing in the medicine directly from the inhaler and holding my breath.

One little point. He says to breathe out gently. The he goes on talking about step 5. There's no time gap between 4 & 5. You breathe out (empty your lungs) then depress the canister as you start breathing in. I think it's a good idea to get as much air out of your lungs as you can immediately before you take the medication in.

Hi, this is informative. I have a question though. Some say when cleaning the Aero Chamber NOT to rinse after cleaning, others including yourself say YES to rinse after the wash. The leaflet says not to, yet I have always rinsed as it never looks clean if I leave it with a soapy film? The leaflet says a film on the Aero Chamber is a good thing!! I much prefer to rinse, but am I doing wrong. I have the Aero Chamber as you show, with blue parts.
Some also say wash before initial use, some say not to just start using. Very confusing. Thanks.

I have two inhalers, Albuterol and Budesonide. After I start with the Albuterol, can I go directly to the Budesonide or should I clean the spacer first?
