There were a few brief moments where you can physically see Mike struggle to maintain composure -- but the crowd, the LP Family, so visibly lifted his spirits and gave him the strength to muster through this song. So many complicated emotions during this song, for all of us. But we are ever-powerful when we lean upon one another and support each other. Together we are powerful and unstoppable. bro its crazy how it still hurts so much to listen to the live stuff 3 years down the road. when he died, all the sudden all of his lyrics just made so much more sense in his personal context. you realize then, how much pain he was in constantly and just somehow always turned that into fuel for the fans. linkin park was like an extension of our collective families for so many years bc so many of us grew up defined by their music. the first album i ever bought with my own money at 12 years old was hybrid theory. chester helped all of us figure out how to navigate our lives through teenage angst and family problems and abuse for some and gave an outlet for all the negativity we would encounter in growing up. then for that light that was present in all of our collective darkness to just extinguish in an instant.. it sucked then and it still sucks 3 years down the road.
The moment that I found out that Chester died I cried hard at work I was so deeply sad It broke my heart it still is so sad that he's gone but we at least have his songs to remember him
Same here, I've been listening to Linkin Park since 2000. Chester's music got me through some pretty bad times. Linkin park gave me the inspiration to pick up musical instruments. I've met the band on 7 occasions and Chester was the kindest person I have ever met, he had no hate in him. I'm glad that I was fortunate enough to speak to chester on 2 occasions for close to 30 minutes on 2 occasions. The day I learned of his death I could not stop sobbing. I had lost my grandpa to cancer a month earlier. As if my heart wasn't broken enough.
Last week I went to a LP tribute show and I can’t describe how hard I cried when they played this song. I miss Chester. Fuck depression, fuck trauma, fuck whatever took him from us. Everybody talks about Chester smiling with the guitar in the Friendly fire video, but it's his fistbump with Mike that breaks me every single time - so of course Mike's emotional, longing, thankful, true, holding-back-tears smile of his when the guy screamed his best friend's name here made me bawl immediately. You know, I and we all miss Chester and remember him, his talent, his goofiness and his tortured, beautiful soul, but I can never think of him without thinking of Mike too. Anyone who says that all that he and the guys have been doing over the years is nothing but a cash grab can fuck right off - I mean, are they monetizing over it? Absolutely, but there's tons beyond it. RiP Chester and go on, Mike, we'll be following you and your career for as long as you decide to work.

Честер улыбается на небесах…
I was there. Just magical and incredibly emotional.
Was that the only song they sang?
Can i come with you next time?
Vik101 lol I wish
Me too, and yeah it was. I was the one that screamed his name.
@@NevenSalom for real?
Watching the agony on Mike's face turn into a smile after the fan yelled Chester was amazing and also devastating to see.
2:11 I cannot imagine how difficult this was for him.
“Chesterrr!!” my heart broke
Around the line, "and you're angry, and you should be, it's not fair" is where it seems to get really hard for people, including myself. I haven't sang this song once without crying.
that and "just cause you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there". The second verse hits really, really hard after you've experienced loss.
It's the chair line that really got me at first. Such a simple thing but so meaningful. But seeing Mike's face on the "you're angry" line gets me every single time
@@erynbrooks963 my old highschool friend's little cousin had the song played at his funeral. I imagine the line hit my him really, really hard after that whenever he heard it. Both of them were listeners
You can see to Mike eyes how painful when he lost Chester. Chester will never gone to our heart and mind. (Linkin Park forever)
Yes Chester was Mike's best friend
Chester would be so proud of you Mike..
Yeah, he is soo proud of everyone
Is*☺
He is singing in heaven and showing everyone his talent
it's 2019 March, why am i still crying ?? :')
I understand your pain brother
Same here. Cried all day on 3/20. Heartbreaking
same... especially when that guy in the crowd yelled Chester
@@chaoticsoul4077 That part got me too
Me too omg.
I'm not crying. You're crying!
We all are
MARKO not a lie 😭
MARKO it’s okay
Damn right 💯 👌
You're a monster if you arent crying!!!
Damn. That fan screaming Chester’s name hits exactly the way it did as when Chester screamed “I do” in his live tribute to Chris. Holy feels. Can’t tell if it’s foggy in my bedroom or what but it’s hard to see what I’m tying rn.
" Just cause you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there" - Linkin Park. Chester will always stay with us through his music.
Together we can overcome any and all things.
Tess1061 #soldiers
Agreed. Cant imagine the sick feeling in the pit of his stomach and the broken heart he must have had when trying to do this song. Probably wanted to just sob, but he managed to complete the song with the crowds help #makechesterproud
Bless you Mike.. I felt that.
its beautiful...were so lucky that Mike has remained to carry on the heart, spirit and music of Our Dear Loved Chester. The LP& Friends tour is the most heart felt and beautiful thing ive ever seen a Band do to honor the loss of someone who is truly loved & missed so much. Its such an amazing honor the LP guys would share their healing with us. One strong forever & always. Chester will always remain in our hearts and always will we honor his name and this special moment of healing, bonding, and connectiveness.❤❤❤❤
I was actually there and the crowd were louder than shinoda on mic...i got goosebumps
I bet that was such an incredible moment😥💕It gives me chills just watching it on here
Rest In Peace Chester your light will never go out in our hearts ♥️
That´s for sure
I am dedicating One More Light to my son whom passed away 32 years ago today. Xxx To you little one 🦋
I am so sorry for your loss
Sorry for the loss of your son. 32 yrs 🙏 lost, my daughter Alicia and my three grandchildren Ella Eva and Emery last year in a tragic fire, this song hits hard 💔 for me ,,yes, it matters if one person does pass especially if it's to soon and they weren't meant to pass rip Chester, Chris, Alicia, Ella Eva and Emery and Kyle and Noah..
Damn Mike has a nice voice. This song makes me so sad.
Is anyone else just imagining Chester’s voice as well?
No I heard it too
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii doooooooooooooooooooooooo
My husband mixed this performance and the original One More Light together. I assure you it will give you goose bumps.

mad respect to mike for being able to pull this off
Chester 😭❤️
Chester 😢😢😢😢😢😢
5 years later and I still cannot put into words the feelings in that room at this point. I have never experienced anything like it. An absolute privilege to be there
Completely. It was a special show before and after this moment, but this moment was completely unique. Never been to a show that had that reaction.
"Love you Chester, i miss you" I don't know who yelled at that minute but I also felt it. 3:21. 😥
Coming up on the 3 year mark, and I still find it hard to grasp that he’s gone. We miss you so much. 🕯#MakeChesterProud
ano its so sad
mason3750 I never thought I could miss someone I never met, but I really sincerely do.
bro its crazy how it still hurts so much to listen to the live stuff 3 years down the road. when he died, all the sudden all of his lyrics just made so much more sense in his personal context. you realize then, how much pain he was in constantly and just somehow always turned that into fuel for the fans. linkin park was like an extension of our collective families for so many years bc so many of us grew up defined by their music. the first album i ever bought with my own money at 12 years old was hybrid theory. chester helped all of us figure out how to navigate our lives through teenage angst and family problems and abuse for some and gave an outlet for all the negativity we would encounter in growing up. then for that light that was present in all of our collective darkness to just extinguish in an instant.. it sucked then and it still sucks 3 years down the road.
The moment that I found out that Chester died I cried hard at work I was so deeply sad It broke my heart it still is so sad that he's gone but we at least have his songs to remember him
crying! 2 years I still can't take it...MIKE SHINODA YOU ARE GREAT
Same here, I've been listening to Linkin Park since 2000.
Still can't believe Chester is gone. Two years this year... Hard to think about xx
Shaunna Edwards yes, very tough. But his memory will last forever!
Time flies and his memory still very live. 🔥🔥🔥
IT'S BEEN TWO FUCKING YEARS ALREADY?!?! How?!?😭😭😭 that's crazy!
Shaunna Edwards it’s july 28, 2019 but still i cant hold my tears running down on my face..salute!! one love..
This year 3
it‘s just so cathartic seeing mike playing this song again
Last week I went to a LP tribute show and I can’t describe how hard I cried when they played this song. I miss Chester. Fuck depression, fuck trauma, fuck whatever took him from us. But also, Mike is the best kind of friend anyone could have. He’s really gone above and beyond to keep Chester’s memory alive. Thank you Mike.
Honestly it's been 3 years but i'm still here crying again and again...
Me too 🖤 I want it to get better than this feeling.
Well now it’s been 5 years since Chester has passed 😭😭😭😭😭
@@Hunter-qv5pc Yes and still counting.
The way Mike shows Respect to Chester is amazing. Ofcourse Chester is a Legend. He is still alive in every fan's heart and Mike never forgets to give tribute to Chester. Chester you are being missed. It breaks my heart whenever I listen to the songs. We love you Chester. We miss you.
Thank you Mike for letting him live always.
Mike and Chester are my two favourite legends
2024… still crying ❤❤😢
3:14 I couldn't stop crying especially to the reaction of the crowd and Mike 😢
Don't ask who's here in 2021, we never left 🥺
Shinoda is such a talent
My 10 months old son really love this song, it makes him calm when he hears this song
Too cute
shambashrine So about a year ago, One More Light came on :)
💜💜
your son listens to the right music from the first moments if his life. thank you for that
Mine too, since she was 2 months old
Damn... seeing Mike sing this is even harder than watching videos of Chester singing it because I can see and hear his pain. This hits so close to home.

I wish he would play this live more often, but I understand why he wouldn't. What a treat it must've been to be there in the audience.
I do. RIP Chester!
3:15 Gives me chills every time... God I wish I'd have gotten the chance to see them in person.
mike was, and still is, a real friend. i grew up with linkin park and have always had huge respect towards the whole band, but man my respect for mike keeps growing and growing. he is keeping his best friend's legacy alive, like he promised. he's never used him, his name or his death in a bad way. mike's lost so many people in the span of a few years and the way he's carried himself is inspiring. he's so strong.
The crowd's reaction when hearing the first note.... Tears. That legendary man that yelled Chester. Insta ugly cry.
His grief is almost palpable. I can't even begin to understand it. They became closer than brothers during the time they performed together. RIP Chester and know that you are loved and missed all over the world.
Mike smiling after someone shouts 'Chester' and then at the end where he talks about him - beautiful
I'm not crying! You're crying!
"Thank you for saying his name."

Mike and all Linkin park's family we love you !
I can't think of anyone else singing this song moving forward but Mike Shinoda. It should be rightfully his to sing. You have a beautiful voice, Mike.
I'm crying, miss Chester so much. I'm glad that you sing this song again and I trust you that LP will be rised again. You are a Legend. Mike.
Sorry but it is official #RIPLINKINPARK(1996-2017)

ddk y2 how is it official? Were there any confirmations?

ddk y2 umm no? Just cause they said they won’t replace chester don’t mean lp is dead. However judging by you logic it was dead from the moment chester died. It would be more accurate to say lp with chester is dead. But lp as a band overall isn’t finished yet
Когда понимаешь, что никогда не услышишь Честера вживую..и будешь сожалеть всю жизнь, что так и не успел на его концерт 😭
Майк выглядит одиноким без Честера...

а для меня так и осталось мечтой,

Everybody talks about Chester smiling with the guitar in the Friendly fire video, but it's his fistbump with Mike that breaks me every single time - so of course Mike's emotional, longing, thankful, true, holding-back-tears smile of his when the guy screamed his best friend's name here made me bawl immediately. You know, I and we all miss Chester and remember him, his talent, his goofiness and his tortured, beautiful soul, but I can never think of him without thinking of Mike too. All that we know he's gone through and what we'll never know, and how much he really loved - no, fuck that, loves - his friend, keeping his memory alive in our collective heads and hearts.
Абсолютно с Вами согласна.👏👏👏👏
One of the greatest songs written by any band period
You can feal the sadness coming from his voice.
Yeah you can, it's soooooo heartwrenching😥❤
If this doesn't bring a tear to your eyes you're not human. WOW!! Rest easy Chester
