Honestly, when I'm playing Stardew I will usually have multiple wiki pages opened in a few different tabs that I keep referencing as I go along. The wiki is your friend...

I feel with the addition of mushrooms logs, it's not even worth it to take the mushroom cave anymore, as you can just add the logs between your maple syrup, oak resin and pine tar producing trees
It depends on when you unlock the cave, really, and the way you're playing. If you unlock the cave in your first spring but can't craft mushroom logs yet (level 4 foraging) the free mushrooms & free dehydrator are pretty nice, especially if you're no-lifing the mines during your first month. It's all down to your playthrough & what works for you.
The dehydrator is quite nice for early money and the mushrooms are pretty good as an energy source. It becomes obsolete more quickly than the bat cave though.
you could say the same about the fruit bats, fruit trees produce so much fruit that you dont ever need the cave. at least the mushrooms always spawn every 2 days unlike the fruit bats that are random
My very first spring in stardew valley was spent the same way I spent my very first spring in all four harvest moon games: being lost in the map and trying (and failing) to get all the forageables. Also cut as many trees as I could, because I need three hundred wood for that beach bridge and for some reason, it was always the first thing I do in every gameplay.
I’m staring my second playthrough, well more like i abandoned my previous one. Hehe i realized after hours of grinding my ass to achieve all this game has to offer is not my playstyle. I’m doing a beach farm now which is what i initially wanted but chickened out after seeing people’s comments that it’s harder to make money using this farm. I’m enjoying my beach farm now. It just further proves that everyone’s play style is different and this game really has anything for anyone.
Same! I'm also super forgetful so I feel like I wouldn't make the most of the 2-day respawn with the mushroom cave, whereas the fruit bat cave slowly fills up & when I eventually remember, it's usually full 😂
It also seems like a bit of a waste to put them outside the greenhouse where they only bear fruit one season out of the year. At least with 1.6, you get the sapling back so you can replant them in the greenhouse later once it's unlocked.

Another tip i found out, is to not upgrade ur axe for a while in the game. Since u can get mystery boxes from chopping trees, and each chop u get from a single tree gives u a 0.5% chance for that tree to drop a mystery box. Especially on good luck days
As long as you can get your hands on a prize ticket during your first spring, sure! Mystery boxes only unlock after either 50 days have passed or you've found a prize ticket
On the other hand, the upgraded axe is helpful for chopping hardwood and getting access to the secret woods, and potentially for the secret rain event in summer if you're planning to chop a lot of trees (I tend to stick with the scythe for moss).
You'd need to upgrade the axe twice to access the secret woods. Please remember that this is a *First Spring* video, not an advanced tips & tricks video, nor is it designed to go into detail about every aspect of spring. It's mainly for new players or players that are restarting their farm & might not know about these little tidbits.

There is one other benefit, besides the Skull Cavern key and Jumino Kart, to getting to the bottom of the mines asap. Once you do, every monster you kill has a .05% chance to drop a Prismatic Shard. It's not a lot, but the sooner this chance is turned on, the better.
You're 100% right! Enemy HP also increases slightly I think after floor 120, but it's worth it for the shards. I'll adjust the info in my next video, thanks for the heads up!
This is the most peaceful fun game I have played. I started to strongly dislike multiplayer games due to the fact kids today are one something and they are too good at games without enough time in. So solo player games have been a blast never losing to someone you never should lose to
I completely agree! Some multiplayer games can be fun, and Stardew's great with friends too, but sometimes you just want to chill at your own pace and do your own thing, and Stardew is great for that!
For early game energy, IMO the spring onions aren't super worth going out of your way for. Often none will spawn at all, it's quite far away to walk and they give very little energy. I've found it very helpful to make snacks from the tree seeds instead. After level 1 foraging is reached, one can hit the seeds that spawn from fully grown trees (before they reach the sapling stage) and they drop one tree seed. This way, you use a minimum of energy per seed. I try to also choose trees to chop strategically so I have roughly the same amount of each seed type. It really helps with bridging the time until the salmonberry season. For bought food, salads from the saloon are the best value for money, but let's be honest, I'm way too stingy early game to spend money on that. I'd rather root through the trash, especially on good luck days.
Oh yeah, the seed snacks are OP for energy - but this is a tips & tricks video, it's a bit more geared towards things you might not know, not things that the game makes pretty obvious. I prefer to keep most of those seeds for re-planting trees anyway, gotta start that oak resin farm pretty early if you wanna make decent money later. Also, none spawning at all for you seems like straight up bad luck. I tested this throughout an entire Spring and the least I found was 3 spring onions.

You can wait for Saturday but sometimes, through the week, a npc will just walk through foragables. It's up to you if you wanna check everyday. But for me. I tend to just wait for Saturday.
Ij started a new world before the update but didn't get a dehydrator in Mt cave even after the update wich makes me want to make a new world but I've already done to much to have it ruin my game play I guess
My friend had the same issue with the riverland farm & the fish smoker - I for sure think it should have been added to farms that were already started, especially considering that we were told we didn't need to start new farms for the update! Probably just an oversight, hopefully it'll be added!
That's annoying but at least not the end of the world, since you can buy the recipe. It's not expensive to make but the recipe is 10k - I mean, you'll probably want to purchase it at some point anyway if you want more than just one dehydrator. Tip: don't make too many at once, they just take so much more fruit than jars and it's easy to overestimate how many will suffice for your farm's production. Eg do not fill a shed with them or you'll run out of produce to put in there.
All of this is true - but it's still really annoying that the update didn't retroactively add the new items to certain farms, considering that some people started those farms specifically for the update. People are allowed to complain :)

Good tips though you under sold the fish smokers though. With angler/artisian it's a 4.2 multiplier on the fish base price

The forageables reset every Saturday.
You can wait for Saturday but sometimes, through the week, a npc will just walk through foragables.
