Am Kenyan but when I entered Uganda I begun to study and loved Ugandan life. This guy's documentary gave me emotions and his music is that to love . He was such a good guy .
I was 9 years in 1988 at a graduation party in Entebbe Kitooro when I first heard the voice of the one and only most talented musician in Uganda Philly Lutaaya. I live now in Michigan USA and I have never stopped listening to my hero. Much love. RIP
The Greatest African proponents of Black Musical redeption of All time! Entebbe Wala is a Munumental Inspiration to Ugandans in Diaspora. R.I.P Philly.😎
l was sixteen when l first saw Philly lutaaya in a live concert in entebbe resort beach l loved his songs since then and my dream was to live abroad cause philly was looking so good. right now l live with my family abroad and he is my hero. RIP. lutaaya.
This is educative, why? Philly had a loving wife; the mother of his kids. But like most celeb dads, he was always on the road playing gigs to make money and also enjoy life( eyo mukyalo jogenda osula). The wife got agitated and could have spoken some of the words in the lyrics of this song. She tried to hung in there but the loneliness was overwhelming. She woke up one day, dumped the kids at the grannies and eloped (osaana omanye, nabasajja nabo banji). Philly was devastated and penned the song "NAALI KWAGADDE"..... BUT after a lot of soul searching Philly empathised with the true love of his life and penned this song " empisazo"
i recall the days of RADIO CASSETTES, and TAPES you could not bypass 3 houses after every 10 mins philly's songs were playing. He loved what God gave him,and he perfected it,
We miss your good EDUCATIVE MUSIC. I was seven years when I had your song ALONE AND FRIGHTENED which was sung at our school in competition with ALERTING drama pLays of HIV. I grew up with that fear and it encouraged me to move consciously.
This guy is a Hero in my Book. Despite controversy and adversary while dealing with HIV/AIDS, he still influenced people of Uganda through his Music. RIP Philly your one of the greatest.
The only musician remaining of his calibre is Kabuye Ssemboga. Philly Lutaaya and Elly Wamala represented TALENT in music! I said goodbye to this hero in Bunamwaya in 1989 when he went to be with the Lord!
My big brother Andrew Rip had compiled this legends ziki and he could play it every time And when wver l cd visit them l could find them playing these beautiful songs of philly . And that was 1995! Iam now a doctor and l dont miss this ziki in my car 🥰
recently Ugandan artists were awarded medals of recognition. Can someone remind me whether Philly Bbongole Lutaaya was one of them? I think we need a serious foundation in his honor. His music came at the right time and helped many people especially in Uganda change their life styles during the peak of the AIDS scourge! Rest in Peace, Philly.
Philly may your soul rest in peace because you had a talent in music the way your words following in beat ooooh was so fantastic and seriously the music is up date

Philly Lutaaya was a natural and talented singer.
I cannot place him in the same league as many singers today who just sing for business.
Philly lutaya the true son of Africa we shall always love you dear brethren
