- My PS1 Racing Game videos are getting surprisingly popular over time. Right now I actually have 4 of them in my most viewed videos of the month. It seems like people really want to see these games, so here I got some more footage of one. This time I am playing the beginner tournament in NFS 3, which allows me to unlock the Jaguar XJR-15 and the four advanced tracks without having to enter a code.
I underestimated the length of the tournament a bit. Feel free to skip ahead and only watch the tracks that you are interested in. :)

In case you don't know: The last four tracks are longer versions of the first four, so some sections of those will look familiar. :)
I am using the Ferrari 355 F1 for the whole tournament. The AI drivers switch to faster cars after the first half but I just stayed with the 355, since it seemed good enough. On Country Woods I just got owned by not knowing the forest shortcut properly. :P
I first tried to beat the expert tournament immediately but in that one I had no chance to catch some of the AI drivers, since they were using the Jaguar, which I hadn't unlocked yet. Now that I got the car myself I will attempt the expert tournament again and I may show that in a future video.

This game has the most well designed and memorable tracks of the series in my opinion.
This game was mind blowing when it came out

It aged really well for a PS1 game.
We need a remastered version of this or High Stakes. Better graphics, better physics, better cars, better details... BETTER EVERYTHING!!

Why they don't make a game like this with today graphics . Why all games have to be complicated

PS2 Hot Pursuit is far more enjoyable then PS3 one
Today series is too much overexcitation. Nitrous, Soundwaves and other shit like that. This one was much more about driving enjoynment.

Same here, and it left an impression that other racing games couldn't match after playing it. Idk what it is, the music, the tracks, or the Lamborghini Countach. As a kid I was never good at the game but, kept going back, I'm not even a big car racing guy, but now after 24 years, I think its time to revisit the game, even if its just for a couple more races!

Yeah. Some events that were multiple lap always had a Level 1 or Level 2 car pass me or continue to keep pace. Haha Now the Drivatars are even harder!

Damn, I still remember the awe I had when I first entered the underwater tunnel on Aquatica. Even by today's standarts it looks good. The work they've done with light and colors and the overall composition is inspiring, with the arcs rhythmically passing by, amazing (1:08:20). And just in gerenal, the maps in this game worked so well, an art genius was working on them, they all have 3 polygons each, but have something that feels so real, I can't explain it, maybe it's just nostalgia speaking. What's that shit you're driving though? Everybody knew that Lamborghini Diablo was objectively the fastest car in the game.
You know you messed up when tad passes you.... this was my favorite game growing up, I'm going to buy a PS1 just so I can play this again. Thanks for the video!

They should make a new NFS with some classic tracks from the old games included (as a bonus). Would love to see a current-gen version of Hometown, Rocky Pass, Red Rock etc. from this game and Celtic Ruins, Dolphin Cove, Kindiak Park and others from NFS IV High Stakes.

I like how Gran Turismo has kept most of it's old tracks throughout the ages even as the focused shifted towards real world circuits. Trial Mountain and High Speed Ring have appeared in nearly every game in the series for example.

Love these old Ps1 racers. People call them ugly, but something about these visuals make me all warm and fuzzy inside.
I really miss this game because not only did I never manage to finish it as a kid, the AI were also significantly more challenging so I really want to replay it sometime and win. Unfortunately my current setup cannot easily accommodate PS1 requirements and I really do enjoy souls games.

Same. I want to play all of these again. How old are you btw? I'm 20. Just wondering at what point kids stopped playing these games and they were forgotten forever. I was about 5 or 6 and this was actually my very first video game ever. One of my dads friends brought over his PlayStation one and I begged my parents for one. I've been a gamer ever since.

Really impressive for a PS1 game, Test Drive 6, Gran Turismo and Need for Speed 3 were my top 3 best racing games on the original PlayStation.

A principios de 2019 Falta un Remake de este JUEGAZO, pero tal cual era, esa sensación de velocidad única con ese modo arcade insuperable. Se perdió este sistema de juego en el camino. Su evolución fue lógica y buenísima con los NFS underground, Most wanted, incluso Bournout. Ahora los NFS son un bodrio al lado de esta maravilla.
en lo personal, no me gustan pa na los ultimos, tengo el Payback, Rivals, y el original de ps4, pero ni los juego, prefiero este juegazo, need for speed 3, una joya.

+Нурбек Копбаев I think you unlock it by winning the expert tournament. On PS1 you can also use the bonus code "spoilt" to unlock everything. Just enter it as your driver name in the options.

of all the years that I've had a ps1, I've never been able to unlock that red Mercedes CLK but I had to beat the game on hard difficulty in order to unlock it, However I unlocked the Jaguar XT9

how come when i'm playing, in the exact same settings, i can only reach a max of like 140 kp/h and you're getting to 295??

Question I used to play this all the time on pc and just bought it for ps1 so I could play again but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to load track records etc, like nothing seems to want to save. I saved the records and settings but when I get back on there is never an option to load a save
For me it loads the savegame automatically when I start the game.
huh ya for some reason it's just not loading anything saved for this game maybe ill try deleting all of it off the memory card next time im home, thanks for the response

What was that secret car when you complete the game I forgot what it looked like but it could hit over 500mph as a bonus secret car was it the El nino? could have sworn it was something else. Need for speed 3 hot pursuit game on psx.
As far as I know the only bonus car is the El Nino and it definitely doesn't go THAT fast, lol.
