    Thank you so much for your videos, not only because I am a mum of a two year old but also because I am an early years special needs teacher. I have been working in SEN for over ten years now but I still always make the effort to remind and re-educate myself and your videos are so helpful!

    My son crawled early. He was military crawling at 4 months, crawling soon after. He’s been in motion ever since. He walked and talked early (10 mos). He had a terrible time sleeping though. He has EXPLOSIVE, long, drawn out meltdowns but has great physical literacy. Emotional disregulation is a challenge. Sounds/noise/stimulation is a challenge. Transitioning between activities is incredibly challenging.
    I have been told by one psychologist that he’s “neurodiverse” but doesn’t have ASD.
    I have been looking for an OT for 2 years. I parent solo and have another child.
    We are struggling despite my best efforts.
    Wondering if there is an online support community for parents like me (so I can show up as my best self for my kids)? Thanks.

    So, if it’s not a diagnosis, can a child have this and nothing else be wrong? Or do only children who have ADHD, autism, etc have this?

      @@Twiti47 yes it can be just a sensory processing difference without autism or adhd. It’s fairly common ! My son is showing sensory seeking behavior but they are not worried about autism.

    My daughter who is now 36 and has a 5 monrh old baby boy, had sensory integretion issues which were treated when she was 4 or 5. At the end of her treatment I was told she had shown good improvement in all problems areas but she was still low in the area that develop thru mastering the superman pose. So I have been watching videos of my grandson to make sure he does not have issues like she did. He can lift his head and torso. I think tummy time has been conducted mostly on a bolster to overcome his resistence to it. Anyway he does not put his arms out and lift his legs at the same time. So not smooth stong and coordinated but not totally lacking. Do you have any advice or comments for me??? Do you consult by phone???

      Hi there! There could be underlying sensory needs not being met, but to get a clear picture and the best recommendations it is best to consult with an OT.

      feel you Lucia mine just got kicked out of hers. Have you talked to your pediatrician to start referring you to a specialist. I started with a speech therapist because my daughter wasn't talking. She has helped me find services. They might want to refer you to a behavioral therapist so they can guide you for specialize services

      @@Lissemt yes we do weekly sessions -also started w speech. Saw an OT also ! She did a sensory assessment and he scored definite difference. We just had an assessment w the school district because he is about to turn 3. I’m hoping he is accepted into their special preschool program! Bc his new school just told me they can’t help him in a group setting and he needs one on one. It sucks bc I love the teacher but she says it’s just not going to work in a big group.

    My daughter is newly 2 and Her doctor has done an autism scoring and said she needed to be evaluated for a sensory issue and autism. She has none of the symptoms of this except excessively jumping or bouncing. Is she to young to be evaluated for this.

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically kiddos aren’t evaluated for that diagnosis until at least 3 years old. If your kiddo just turned two, that seems quite young to make a determination.

      Your little one is here by now. Congratulations. As a mom with diagnosis only years after my youngest got diagnosed, both my kids have these. We didnt have any early diagnosis and even after diagnosis. I give you big props for trying to learn as much as you can. Dont worry about learning everything at once. Observe your baby and search when you notice anything off
