so do you have to keep cranking the crankshaft pulley until the enhine gets hard to turn & starts to hiss & THATS the compressin stroke, and thats when you want the piston TDC ?
how bout indexing marks in white on cam gears, crank and timing belt...and transfer marks from old belt to new belt...???Then install new belt to line up white marks of cam and crank gears. cam and crank would have to be held in place and a careful count of belt teeth to new belt teeth count from crank to 1st cam gear and then 2nd gear. l use to do that for some older cars in the past on replacing timing belts.
Hello, im going to be working on my daughters car 2002 focus, the front camshaft seal is leaking, do you have a video showing removal and installation of seal, and do i need a special tool to remove seal. BTW great video on how to get to timing belt, you saved me a fortune.
I follow every single tip on this video and did exactly like your show, and when I went to start the car, the car started no problem but!! it sounded off time. originally the car broke the timing belt but when it broke I wasn't!! driving really fast actually the moment it broke I was turning really slow into a corner next to where I live and that's when it happened.. any advice on how to go about that I appreciate it
+Jonathan Hernandez Maybe your engine bent a valve when its timing belt snapped, a lot of modern engines will do that. A compression test will confirm or eliminate that possibility
Yes u can... one these cars, the waterpump can be done without touching Any of the timing belt stuff that was removed...already done it on 2003 focus zetec 2.0

Is the timing cover seal same as crank seal in front? Appears to be to me.
