    Nungbi black pottery locally known as ‘Nungbi Hampai” finds its origin from the Tangkul Naga tribes of the Ukhrul district of Manipur. Nungbi pottery was originally referred to as “loree hamlei” and was also called royal pottery.

    Glad i came across this video. I bought a black pottery kadai from an exhibition in Bangalore. There is a problem or maybe there is something i dont understand.
    I usedthe kadai for deep frying and washed it like regular utensils. But ppdt that, whenever i heat the kadai to cook, oil seeps out of the pores and leaks on to the gas stove burner! When washed, dried and kept aside it smells of stale oil. Can u plz help me by guiding out of this problem!?? TIA❤

    There is no such colony name in Dimapur so can anyone give me the correct name?

      Yes no potter in Dimapur. It in nugbi village about 30 Km away from urkhul, manipur. We visited this place but process and techniques of black pottery making is very crude.

      Lungbi and Nungbi are two villages at a place.
