    What an amazing car. I just bought a b6 2023 s90 ultimate.
    I will pick this car over the Mercedes and BMW any day
    It has everything and anything you can think of for $70,000 Actually even better than Mercedes and BMW.
    Then to top it off, it’s the safest car pretty much The backseat is very spacious especially if you have kids in the seats are so comfortable

    Thank you for the honest cons on the infotainment and system… please make another video of its current state. A lot of owners are delusional about this system and think it’s perfect!

    Warm greetings from Australia Volvo Kristian! I enjoy your uploads on all things Volvo from the other side of the world 👍
    I am only on my 2nd Volvo after 6 years of very enjoyable, trouble free ownership of a MY15 Polestar tuned T5 V40. With the arrival of grandkids however, we traded in the V40 for a 2021 T5 Recharge hybrid XC40 & we love it!
    I couldn't agree more with your current Volvo "cons"... Despite loving the Volvo brand they sometimes make the strangest decisions like Volvo Australia ceasing imports of the hybrid XC40 here in Australia in 2022 so it didn't steal sales from the single motor XC & C40 models! I extensively test drove the fully electric XC40 & like you the switch to a very underdone Google infotainment system along with the removal of things like the wheel mounted cruise/pilot assist toggle, button selectable drive modes & instrument cluster brightness had me scratching my head in bewilderment. Why Volvo WHY? They are most definitely NOT what I consider improvements... quite the opposite in fact to the point where the decision to buy the Sensus equipped hybrid instead was made so much easier! We can do all our shopping runs to our nearest town on pure electric, recharge it with our solar panels for next to nothing & when visiting the grandkids 200kms away in Sydney we are averaging 4.8 litres/100kms! That is with the Polestar Engineered tune installed too!
    So there is something else we agree on... Hybrid for the win! Keep the uploads coming... Luv your work 😉

    That steering wheel toggle between Cruise Control types is ridiculous. I've been using it a lot in my V90 in longer drives. It's been over a year now and they still have not fixed it. In a 100k EUR Car!

    Owning a 2023 model makes me wonder why if Volvo has removed the driving mode it doesn’t gives you the possibility to set it with voice commands.
    If it was for a safety issue we should be able to get everything activated by voice commands…

    One thing I can’t wait to do is to drive in the snow but I’m in California so I have to wait until winter but I can’t wait to take it out on a drive on the snow. Mine is all wheel drive as well but I don’t have the option to switch it to 2 Wheel Dr.. It’s always on all wheel drive.

    It does provide a relaxing atmosphere with quality feel and workmanship you appreciate.. very easy to drive and get accustomed to. Different experience in an oddity because you don’t see many of them. My first one was reliable and was trouble free. Got a second one with great financial incentive because of the oddity. 🎉

    You mentioned your V60 at 27:13 but I could not find any V60 review on your Channel. What are your thoughts about the V60 vs the S90? I can still not decide which one I should go for. I am actually biased towards the V60 coz it's about 13000 Euros cheaper (in Bangkok), a bit smaller (driving most of time in the city of Bangkok/Thailand... some streets are very narrow...), more trunk space, slightly faster, panoramic roof (vs the smaller glass roof of the S90). Features of the S90 which I like: the overall look is nicer/more luxurious, smoother ride, more leg room in the back, B&W sound system (the V60 comes with the Harman Kardon System. B&W is no option for this model in Thailand)....

    The steering buttons and the scroll wheel will annoy me most. Hoping voice commands will cover for the miss. I ordered a V60 T6 here. And since I wanted the amber interior, I do get the black headliner.

      Don't ask so hard questions 🤣 S90 for exterior design, driving sensation and also Bowers & Wilkins experience. Different cabin.. But then we got V90.. Also wicked exterior, and looks incredible with a low roofbox. In addition to the practicality... Hmm.. 🤔 I'm going for V90 here

      My previous volvo was a D5 v90 CC, so I would just lean toward the v90. I had a great experience with it.
      Currently owning a 2023 xc90 t8 ultimate dark fully specd…IMHO t8 is the way to go if you have a relatively short daily commuting and you enjoy longer trips once in a while.
      B6 CC is best if you grind out hundreds of kms per day without any possibility to recharge the electric system.

    Hur tycker du eAWD fungerar?

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Har alltid vært svært fornøyd med eAWD i tidligere Volvo T8/T6 hybrider. Har eid både XC60 T8, S90 T8 og V60 T6.. Svært gode biler på vinterstid. De oppdaterte hybridene har sterkere elektrisk motor, som egentlig skal gi bedre AWD, men samtidig kan man ikke slå av ESC. Så litt usikker om det egentlig er like bra som før. Har ikke fått pushet de nye på vinterstid enda.

    You did not calculated spent electricity for the trip. It has 18,8 kWh battery from which is not all usable. If there is 16 kWh usable, 80% it is 12,8 kWh spent of this trip. You have charged the C40 for about 9 NOK per KWH. If you have charged Volvo S90 for the same price (though I believe that fast charging is in Norway more expensive than slow charging too) then you must add 115,2 NOK to the sum. Still much cheaper than electric C40, but not so much like in your calculation.
    This is apsolutely in pair with my calculation when considering to buy electric car. I am in the hunt for a new car and most probably will be Volvo (that is the reason I am folloving your chanel beside enjoying beautiful Norway landscapes). So for now (I must narrow it to two models) I consider XC40 AWD electric (new, it has very good price), XC60 disel used (year - two old), XC60 T6 PHEV (a bit too expensive even few months used) or V90 T6 PHEV used (it has a right price few months used).
    When i started to calculated electricity costs beside my home wallbox (we have very cheap electricity at home) and especially for longer trips into Austria or Germany (where electricity, especall on fast chargers is very expensive) I have come to the result that my kilometer with electric car cost me double than my present Audi 3.0 quattro diesel! It is totally unaccetable, so new car will be definitely PHEV or diesel. I would like to go PHEV because of my lifestyle where 60 - 70% of my yearly kilometers are driven locally with max 40 kilometers daily trips. I am primarly going for comfort so what do you think XC60 or V90. Are the maintaince costs much higher for the V90 than XC60?

  • @henrik8497
    @henrik8497 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude, you paid 9NOK/kWh with the C40. That’s insane and not a reasonable comparison

      Feels like you have chosen the most expensive charger to make the hybrid more attractive. You can easily find a high power charger for around 5NOK/KWh and if you charge at home it’s more like 1-2NOK/KWh

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian ปีที่แล้ว

      @Henrik What? 🤣 Are you joking.. Sadly these are the price rapid chargers are at the moment. At least in Norway. Unless you have a deal with a charging company. And on a roadtrip home charging aren't a option.. Didn't try to make one better than another. Just show that there's pros and cons with both.

    Another con for me is the fact that you're unable to disable traction control. You can put it in ''sport mode'' but that only so slightly reduces the traction control.
    I am Swedish, so is Volvo. And if there's anything I know about driving in snow it's that it is very benificial to be able to disable traction control when you are stuck in snow, climbing a steep hill etc, without the car cutting power.
    For that very reason I refuse to buy a Volvo, I'd rather go BMW or some other german brand.
