    Sadly at the time this fight flew severely under the radar unless you're a boxing purist. Two undefeated champions having some balls to put it all on the line, Gvozdyk the man who beat the man. No A side B side nonsense just legacy. 👍

    I think people really underestimate Artur’s boxing when they said he’s an easier opponent for Canelo stylistically than Bivol. Artur has a good sense of distance and timing and he hits hard. Even though he doesn’t bounce on his feet the way Dmitry does, he’s still a good big boxer with a punch. The fight against Bivol showed Canelo that there are limits to everything (and don’t even bring up Kovalev fight as he was a completely different Kovalev that night).

    • @MrMidnight92_
      @MrMidnight92_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Bivol is a small light heavyweight but Artur is big light heavyweight with power in either hand. It’s the constant pressure and awkward punch placement that gets opponents. His awkward fighting style and power gets his opponents because you can’t figure him out.

I have all the respect in the world for him, but I’ve also seen him slow down, and he does have some holes in his game. Bivol will exploit them. He’s a more complete fighter. That being said, Beterbiev’s resume is beyond reproach. Beating Gvozdyk was no easy task. I’m surprised Gvozdyk retired after this bout. Beterbiev doesn’t move his head. His defense is basic and he’s fairly easy to hit. He’s not clever, cute, or slick and can often be awkward. None of that arguably matters though. Why? Because he’s inhumanly strong and powerful. Multiple times he practically tossed Gvozdyk around like a child. Even his glancing blows landed with a sickening thud. Couple that with a machine-like endurance and you have a nightmare of a fighter. A bull in the form of a man.
    It’ll take a really good boxer with a lot of power and cardio to beat him. Bivol has a good chance if he can stay focused for 12 rounds.

      Yea it was a shame nail( sorry I never his last name correct) was a very underrated in terms of toughness, too tough, but beterbiev was even more underrated in skills, u hear one thing and watch another, they talk about artur plodding forward like he’s lerch. But I watch beterbiev, just look at the end of rds 1 2 and 4, he’s baiting nail in, then turning him, then landing a 3 inch power jab going backwards as a counter, then he uses footwork going forward, fients a 1, 2, steps to his left to cut the escape of nail, then fient to the right overhand counter over the jab of nail, steps back, weaves head back to avoid the jab countering the fient then snaps a counter power jab himself followed by a murderous right hand uppercut nail ducks into cause the nail smartly and correctly assumes beterbiev will counter again over the top! That’s like the highest level of skill u will see on any level,considering these guys are light heavies, and moving their feet constantly, this is disgusting people calling him a power puncher solely, sad nail retired, he had more to give, considering his counter I’d under attack though I get it. Bivol is def great at concentrating at a unbelievable level of discipline, but artur f physically ok is just too good too strong and faster and smarter than people think

    This is my statement for Bob Arum about Artur Beterbiev. We all know, you are the great promoter, you are the honest one. You are powerful and influential person in boxing. You are the Thanos of boxing Universe. Artur is the main brilliant stone in your infinity gauntlet, most powerful. But he has his own dream, he has a hope of all his life- to become the undisputed unified champion. He doesn't ask you for much money, he doesn't trying to keep a foot in both camps. Artur worked hard for all his life, he devoted his life to box. He's never been crazy about money, cars, gold, women, yachts. He is our pride and glory. He just wants to be respected and honourable, as he deserves. We all have seen "The knight's tale" with Heath Ledger. Artur is William Thatcher of our time. The guy, noble at heart, born in Cheapside, should get his real name: Sir Artur Beterbiev. Bob, you are not a young man. You've done and seen a lot. You are not a poor man. I just want, you, one day, could say: "I helped this guy to make his dream true". That' s not about money, how much DAZN or ESPN pay. That is about brilliant, who needs the last, final touch, to become one of the greatest. Artur deserves to become the glory hall member. And you can be the reason of it, if you stop thinking about money. No one then will remember you as a rich man. Everybody will say: that was man, who made Artur, Beterbiev, the undefeated, the undusputed, unified champion of the world with 100% KO ratio. Bob Arum, I hope you will read this and think about it. Please, after Yarde, find a way for Artur to unify with Bivol as soon, as it is possible. Artur is the Stephen King's last Gunslinger of boxing, honour him, please

    Походу боя , у всех противников Бетербиева, какие то обреченные лица … такое впечатление, что все только и думают … когда же это закончится 🤦‍♂️😊

    Before the KO, 2 judges gave the lead to Gvozdyk... ridiculous!!!! 87-84 Gvozdyk, 86 -85 Gozdyk and 83-87 Beterbiev. I had the same score with the 3rd Judge. without the KO Beterbiev would be robbed...

      I think the judges did that because of the awful “knockdown” actor by the ref but yea

      Agreed Beterbiev was fixed to get robbed in this fight n that’s such a shame if he did cuz he’s CLEARLY the better fighter. People really think it’s just power with him lol you do not become an amateur champion and make the Olympics by having just power you need SKILL which he has a ton of. Beterbiev is a RARE talent like RARE. Mark my words this guy will be undisputed.

      I totally agree with you. That was biased. They were maybe counting every single touch of Gvozdyk as a punch? As commentators were also suggesting the body language and power punches were telling the opposite story to the first two scores.

    24:40 Joe makes a statement that couldn't be any further from the truth. Yes, we as fans want the best fights every single time but the reality is that these guys are human and this sport is very dangerous. He says when 2 fighters face off it doesn't hurt anyone and both guys win. Well Alex lost and ended up retiring... before this fight Alex had retired Adonis Stevenson and he almost died... after ward vs kovalev ward retired and kovalev has never been the same inside and outside the ring.
