Great video Zeke, it shows how having the skill of adaptation can win matches. At first, your five was flawless and your D was shutting down his percentages, you taking the second match forced Tony into changing up his style, then the chemistry changed. Two greats having at it, a lot to learn from watching this. Thanks for sharing.
Tony definitely is one of the superstars in the world of foosball. He is one of the fiercest competitors you'll find. If we're doing the analogy, i'm an NBA player in the world of foosball, but not an all star yet.
If you hate the rollover that means that you have not mastered the shot. If you ever watch Tony live shooting a rollover and you don't think it takes skill and effort to walk the ball around fake one way and shoot the other, then you must never have put in the effort to learn the shot. Learning a basic pull shot is easier than learning a rollover. The fun begins when you need to get faster and get better at picking holes on defenses.
It was just a preference when I started playing. It felt more natural for me, and I could hit wall passes better on the far side. Tony's passing style back in the day also influenced me to stay on the far wall. But you can pass effectively on either side.
The hand speed you guys possess is insane. The cooridination needed to pass with timing, and precision using the tic-tac on 5 bar just doesn't seem possible. I think it is just something you're born with. Zeke played very well spredeman has amazing skills with the 5 and 3 but I don't think he gets enough credit for his goalie skills. Very crafty with fast hands is hard to score on.
Unreal Foos Whats really great Zeke was shortly after this comment, I found out that Texas State Champs was going on (Ive been out of the foosball loop for almost 2 years unfortunately). So I head to the tournament and as luck will have it Tony was there. He did the same shot several times. lol When I wrote the comment I certainly had no idea I would be seeing him do it live in just a few hours. Tony truly is extraordinary at this game. He can make some of the best players in the world look very amateur.
Which is which? Who is playing yellow and who black? I'm guessing that Zeke is yellow. This is incredible! I hope to be half this good one day! I'm really enjoying all of your tutorials, giving me a lot to work on. Thanks!
Zeke you ever consider using a tic-tac series like Spredeman? Your five as it is is really good from what I've seen, but that tic tac far or near wall seems like a very legit series if someone's willing to put the time in. Also, Tony's pass to PK has a tell... he always hold the 3 lower on the handle when he's passing. Almost every time he goes into that PK, he starts moving up on the handle as he's reading to pass. Do you think that tic tac makes sense near wall too? I may starting passing with it.
You should watch the 2014 USA vs Austria men's final. The singles match with billy pappas he uses near wall stick series and it's extremely fast. Definitely a good example of how it can be done with speed and smoothness.
Yes I went through a time were I was doing a tic tac far wall series like Tony, but it's extremely hard to get consistent with it. It may work great on one table, but on the next table it may be terrible. It's also doesn't translate well to the multi table events. This is one of the reasons why Collignon was so dominant since his game was essentially the same on all tables. His greatness was making it look easy and also making his passing and shooting look the same from one table to another. Tony struggles on the five bar on other tables that aren't designed for tic tacs, but he does have the greatest 5 bar in history on the Tornado table.
Unreal Foos So ive clicked on settings (the one at the bottom of the player), however I do not see a speed option. I have a 'annotations' on/off option and a 'quality' setting, and thats it. Am i not on the correct settings?
I agree with Zeek on this one.. it takes a lot of skill to even pin the ball down when executing a snake/ pin shot. Walking the ball is even more difficult to do as well I myself use the pin shot :p
It's a Tornado T-3000 (non-coin up). Typically around $1500. If you are looking for a good table, i can give you advise on other cheaper options. Send me a message.
Zeke he means in Limburg ( the only place in Holland with the Topper 2000 ). Guys it's not whole HOLLAND, it's only in Limburg, there you can find Toppers with the their own rules. I hope you were joking about saying that the competition on the topper is more attractive hahaha.
lol If its not broken then why fix it?, in other words if he can win the game doing his roll over shot then whats that say about how hard it is to block it?
Love his pull kick, lightning quick. There's a doubles match on TH-cam, I believe on a Warrior table, where he uses the pull kick offense the whole match.
Given the Tony has the fastest hand speed in the game, that automatically makes him a pretty good goalie. Given that he does a 2-5 series, and typically plays forward, his 2 rod would be the weakest part of his game. But again, he does not really need to use it.
Topper 2000 is the only table in the world where the shot is forbidden because the people in Limburg can't execute or block the shot, so they hate it. It annoys me that he is talking about HOLLAND, but he means only Limburg... a province in Holland. The only place where the play on the Topper 2000.

two best men in 5 rod business at same table). Nice vid, thanks

Why do you pass at the far side? is it easier to see for you the gaps? is it easier to handle the tic tac and the brush?
The quick pull kick spredeman does at 8:33 is the fuck'n shit!!! Damn that was fast.
That's signature Spree.

I am new to foosball. Are these two guys like the Lebron and Kobe of foosball?
you are pretty good, how many years have you been playing this?
I already bought one its being shipped thanks thou

Zeke you are an amazing player, I don’t understand why you have a hard time catching the ball after a perfect pass.
What is the model of this table?? And how much does it cost?
I really wish youtube would get a slow motion option on its player.
It does have slow motion. Click on Settings->Speed then select options from 0.25x, 0.5x, 2x, etc.
Unreal Foos
Wow Im not sure how Ive never seen that. Thanks Zeke.

How about those push/pull kick tutorials?!
I great Foosball Player has a repertuar of scoring shots , A great foosball, Shooter, has the Snake.
That way the playing field is flat which avoid having ramps on the sides. That slows down the game because it takes longer to set up.
Why dont u upload 2012?

8:30 is classic Spredeman.

nice. why are there 3 "goalies"... ive never seen a table like this live...
8.30-8.34 is unbelievable
Love his pull kick, lightning quick. There's a doubles match on TH-cam, I believe on a Warrior table, where he uses the pull kick offense the whole match.
Who's who?
Amazing how Tony twists his hand to play the snake... :O
Tony is the one right.
