Thank you so very much for caring about people enough to teach us about eye issues. My aunt had no idea she had glaucoma and went to the eye Dr and he caught it. So many people don’t realize how crucial it is to see their eye Dr every year. Thanks again for giving of your time! God bless you and your family!
Dr thank you so much for the update on this condition. Recently was diagnosed with glaucoma in the right eye blind 95% and as prevention the left eye was lasered as well as cataract surgery 3 weeks ago to prevent blindness of the remaining ieye. I complained for years that I had jabbing pain in the eyes. Pressure has always been 10 to 11. Family history on Father's side. 56 years old and doing everything I can do to prevent future problems.
My doctor told me that it looks like I’m entering an early stage of glaucoma. He noticed a bit of damage to nerve tissue. Haven’t gone to get my eyes checked in 3ish years. He told me he won’t prescribe me any medication until he sees me again in a couple weeks and he said he’ll go from there. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I’m 21
I have glaucoma in my right eye that caused a near full retinal detachment at one point. At one point before I got eyedrops for glaucoma when the pressure spiked, it was at almost 60. When it was like that, my eye hurt so bad that I woke up sobbing at 2:00am (and usually it takes a LOT to get me to cry from pain). During that experience when I had that horrifically high eye pressure, I was in unimaginable amounts of pain because it felt like someone was taking a jackhammer to my eye socket. It was this horrible pulsating type of pain. This all happened about 3.5 years ago (It happened a few weeks after my 13th birthday, and now Im 16 but turning 17 in June) but I still VIVIDLY remember the experience.
I went to my yearly eye appointment yesterday and he told me my pressure is 32 in left and 29 in my right. Now I am in a rabbit hole freaking out that I’m going to go blind.
I'm 60 and vision is better than 20-20 with spectacles, ocular pressure ok at 12. Went for a regular 2 yearly eye test. Optician said they have a new deep retina scanner which costs a bit more more, but thought why not. It found not insignificant damage to retina fibres. Referred to eye specialist who has diagnosed drusen under the retina, another form of glaucoma. Having drops to reduce eye pressure further, but seems other than taking supplement like ginkgo biloba to try and improve blood supply to retina (not clinically proven to help), not a lot can be done?
I have closed angle Glaucoma and had to have urgrnt surgery since very suddenly i began to go blind. I have a littlr vision loss, but I see very clearly now. I also had Cataract surgery about 2 months later. After both surgeries, and now that my eyes have mostly healed, i developed swelling on my lower eyelid which looks like a chalazion, but i think it is from the surgeries. I am curious if uou have any thoughts. The eyecare sprcialists i have seen are not sure what it is
Hi. Thank you so much for your informative videos. They are very helpful. I hope that you can assist me with my problem. I am 74 years old, and I have glaucoma in both eyes. My left eye is blind. The doctor gave me sterile drops (Atropine Eye Drops; Pred Forte) for my left eye because it was very painful. When I started using it, my left pupil began turning white. So now my eyeball is grey-ish white over my iris. As for my right eye, it has a cataract, and the pressure is 18-19. Additionally, my eyelid on the left eye has dropped. Is there anything you can recommend to remedy or reverse this?
hi, i have a question. not glaucoma, i did go to an opthimologist back in april and he did pressure tst as well as eye vision tests adnd all the things they look for in the eyes and he told me my eyes were healthy. the only thing i noticed sometimes is my right eye tends to seeminly see things slightly dimmer then the left eye. but i think my left eye probably has always been my stronger eye anyway and i wll be 50 in 8 months. but never wore contatcts nor glasses as of yet. one time my left eye looked dimmer but then it went right back to the right eye . not sure why. although the doctor said i had some small dry spots on the eye (s) in which the oil doesn't get to and said something about warm compression saying that you can use a warm towel/rag whatever for 5 mintues each day until it repars itself. however, i am not sure how warm to make it or how long it will last. but i also saw a video, maybe it was yours. can't recall. but there is apparenty one you can buy that is just automatic and you don't have to try to speculate. is there anything good like that?
Hi, yes, I have a few videos about warm compresses...how to do it and which ones work better. Here is the playlist if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/play/PLX4frc_itP3XYjw1zbPKb4Jy-XpJAXUUE.html
Hi I have I concern and I would love to hear your opinion on this: I have different eye power in two eyes and I cannot properly focus when I wear my glasses. I see two different images making it difficult to properly do even simplest things like walking. But when I don't wear glasses I can focus but cannot see due to obviously my poor eye sight. What should I do?? convex
Dr I need help my 2eye same blind spot I check 2 hosptail ...retina check but no prb ..NXT one optical nerve test but no prb but ...2eye 2side blind eye pressure normal 14.6 15.1
I was told I have symptoms of Glaucoma but don't have Glaucoma. So do I have it or not? Also my last 3 eye pressures were 11, 13, 12. But i started out with 23 when I started seeing my opthalmologist 3 years ago. I have a blindspot on my left eye on the left bottom part peripherals. My Dr. says 12 or 13 isnt bad but could be better, but when I had an 11 she said its very good and I could not go any lower. Why is a point up bad news? Thanks Dr.
Great question! Some people will be perfectly fine with an eye pressure of 23, and some people might not. This is where Glaucoma can get tricky and to not fully rely on the eye pressure measurement. More monitoring and testing for optic nerve head damage.
Specsavers in UK uses air puff. But what does it do. I was told that IOP testing can cover different aspects and air puff may not test the IOP at back of eye. I dont know.
I have glucoma im 17 im taking eye drops but before going to the eye doctor i started seeing rainbow halos around lights but im in the really early stages of the disease but when i take the eye drops i still see halos but they are barely noticeable what glucoma is that called

Is there a way to test eye pressure home without going to the doctor to have it tested?
There is an at home device from ICare to measure eye pressure. Usually it is obtained through your eye doctor for monitoring purposes.
Should I be worried with 23 eye pressure?
Great question! Some people will be perfectly fine with an eye pressure of 23, and some people might not. This is where Glaucoma can get tricky and to not fully rely on the eye pressure measurement. More monitoring and testing for optic nerve head damage.
Do they still use the air puff test? The doctor I see numbs my eyes with eye drops, and uses a probe against my eyeball to get a reading.

Same to me, I see a rainbow Halo's around lights, is it glaucoma?
My mom has macular degeneration, my grandmother had glaucoma. I hope I get none of them😭
Could someone still use oculus?
Sad I just lost my left eye completely due to this.
