My brand new makati sander needs this fix after less than a dozen sanding disc

I needed to do this for a B&D but my pad was also damaged. So I opted to by a replacement backer pad. When a Part # is required one should look before you leap. But thanks to this video and others I used the same technique. The new disc had raised rings it fit otherwise. so I just sanded them away . Beware of replacement parts there are so many differences.

can the hooks be sanded off (0:20) and then use the pad with sticky discs rather then the cheapo hook disc?

I might do this on my old sanders. I may even do it to my 1/4 sheet sander. I never cared for the clamps on them things anyway.

@@GatorFinishing It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people already did it. Even PSA paper would seem to be an improvement over the clamps on some 1/4 sheet sanders. I hardly ever use the 1/4 sheet sander anyhow but I still keep it around.

This adhesive actually comes with the kit! Its E6000 adhesive!
