Naomi was absent due to filming Keep it in the Closet with Michael Jackson this obviously is one of the shows she was scheduled to do but he brought her out of all the runway contracts to film the music video.
I am not sure why but it makes me happy to see that Tyra Banks got to do Chanel at least once and share the catwalk with Claudia, Christy, Linda and some other supermodels. Probably since Naomi was missing, she wasn't able to get Lagerfeld to cancel Tyra's appearance like she did on so many occasions and basically ruined her modeling career.
And she walked with the original supermodels often actually for so many other designers. People really should look into her portfolio. Tyra had an impressive high fashion career but Naomi fans try to downplay her at every turn... and make no mistake, I’m a huge fan of Naomi but Tyra had a great high fashion career for 6 years straight then switched to Victoria secrets/sport illustrated
ruined her modeling career how? She is one of the world's biggest supermodels and has a net worth of 90 million dollars. Naomi and Tyra were both great supermodels, let's leave the rest behind.
Honey, Naomi never caused designers to fire Tyra. She doesn't have that power. And Tyra got to walk more than one Chanel show. She also walked various times with the big supermodels in NYFW and PFW.
Street chic. The black leather was Karl's take on the goth look and BDSM scene. And the chokers, tunics, black velvet, platform shoes, combat boots and floppy hats were part of the whole grunge look that was going on in the early '90s. Dark, sxxxy and slightly gloomy. It wasn't Chanel's fault. It was just the look and mood of the time coming off a major recession. To me, this collection signaled the end of the '80s high-society look. This collection is very relaxed and doesn't look "wealthy." It loosened the boundaries that separated "Chanel rich" from everyone else. This was a very down-to-earth look for the brand and gave Karl more license to experiment further with each new season. This was not my favorite Chanel collection, but it's not without merit. It was perfect for that time and it let Karl push his creativity. It was edgy - for Chanel - and a push into new territory. Many pieces can be worn today. Not my favorite time for fashion, but bravo to Karl for keeping Chanel current and fun.

My kinda style! Love it!!!
I barley see Tyra in fashion shows in the early 90s so it was nice to see her in this one
Tyra was in Ralph Lauren's spring 1993 runway show and she was in the print campaign with her hair finger-waved.
I loved all the styles ❤

When supermodels ruled the world
until the designers got mad

muscle25ftl Tyra also did the SS92 show

Tyra Banks is beautiful but that walk yikes!!!!
CLAUDIA SCHIFFER!!!😍😍😍
MFFA Make fashion fun again
Beate Loro
Very aggressive catwalks. No elegant walks.
Hahahahaha you jealous
Not so elegant because of those shoes (no heels) they were wearing.
I never like Tyra Banks. I found her trying hard.
But she’s definitely want trying hard on this video. Her walk changes with the designer
