I like these selling and listing videos. Really helps people understand the grind.

Selling big stuff is great, and kinda surprising for me. It sits on the shelves longer, but man, when it goes, it's really nice.

Still here watching everyday! Thank you for the inspiration you provide. As an up and coming ebay store, it really really helps seeing you progress, work and remain consistent!

I would say more than anything else it’s the consistency that can make or break ya!

@TravisMarsala Definitely, it's arguably the toughest part of ebay!

Do you have a standard length you run an auction for? Or is specific to the items you are placing in an auction? Another good video!!

I usually do 7 days, and it’s often on something that I know or suspect us value, but just can’t figure out how to value it. Mostly condition issues. So I just let the buyers decide.

@@TravisMarsala That makes sense when you don't know the value, but i'm always scared to because a lot of my stuff sits for a bit. Some will sell quickly, but I also have some toys from the 80's and it's not like everyone is looking for them. I 'm afraid that if I do an auction I'd get 1 bid for a super cheap price.

How do you test the records to make sure they play okay if you don't listen to them? You mentioned the tracking was good on them - I'm curious how that works as listening to all those would take a lot of time [though could be in the background, but not while you're recording videos for TH-cam]. Similarly - do you listen to CDs or watch DVDs that you sell to make sure they play back good, as the scratches on them can affect playback [I know you test out the video games for that reason]. Thanks! Looks like a lot of those albums sold - G'nR, Billy Joel, Bob Marley - congrats!

I focused on the higher value ones and making sure they played well, because you're right - it would take ages. Luckily most of it is music I enjoy anyways.
And honestly - if they're super clean and basically look brand new (CD's, DVD's) there are times I don't even test them. It's a risk - but an extremely low one.
If there's a scratch or something I will take the time to make sure it plays okay.

@@TravisMarsala Gotcha! Thanks for the reply! I'm sure you were very happy with that vinyl purchase as lots of that music was right up your alley. I have a small boom box I play tapes in [some cassettes can be worth a lot but cassettes don't age well so while they are usually super cheap to buy, they all require testing since you can't tell by looking at them in most cases.
BTW those drawers you use for your Bricklink pieces are awesome!

I was wondering this as well. I've only sold CDs from my collection so I didn't mind listening one last time to make sure they were good, but I couldn't do that if it's some bulk that I got a good deal on (I'm a music snob!). Makes sense to do a visual inspection and base it off of that. I also gotta try my cassette tapes as well, someone might as well enjoy them instead of my closet shelves.

I’ve got a bunch of action figures sitting in storage that I’m coming to the same realization about. Haven’t missed them. Will probably start selling them after the move.
