It's in reference to the dieties that had past lives on Earth who are now in the kingdom of spirits watch us disconnect ourselves from our ancestors whilst destroying ourselves in Earth through hate but as we do that they have the answers to stop it if we seek it out internally
Sounds like a depressed person who doesn’t understand happiness, only pain and despair. At some point they’ve come to sort of embrace that emptiness and see it as a strength even though it only prepares them for the worst. That’s how I see it anyway. Still enjoyable and catharic when I’m in the mood
So true "cathartic" is definitely a good expression,/meaning for psychological relief though the expression of strong emotion. I used Google to get what you meant.
"The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish." --Charlie Chaplin
I hear it as "We can watch the world devoured in its pain," as in, "We are devoured by the pain of the world, and we are watching the world, particularly the pain it has." I picture someone obsessively watching CNN while it provides 24/7 coverage of a disaster.
Lovely song as I heard it from Watchmen 2009 trailer. This song reminds me of as it should've been heard in: 1. Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution for its Trailer (English). 2. Nez Screens GTA5 Super Squad 2: Neonwave including its trailer. 3. Nez Screens GTA5 Justice Falls including its trailer. 4. X Men: Days of Future Past 2014 for its Trailer. 5. X Men: Apocalypse 2016 for its trailer. 7. Batman: Arkham Origins for its trailer. 8. Batman: Arkham Knight for its Trailer. 9. Godzilla: King of the Monsters 2019 for its trailer. 10. Godzilla vs Kong 2021 for its trailer. 11. X men: The Land Stand for its trailer. 12. The New Mutants 2020 for its trailer. 13. Godzilla 1998 including its trailer.
The abbreviated version of this song for the the Watchmen trailer was the main reason I saw the film. The film was okay, but the song is awesome despite the obvious nihilistic message.
@@hollie7926 I agree I liked the scene where Batman ejects out of his seat in the Batmobile and flies right into freeze’s car. Cool moment out of a couple. It’s dumb fun entertainment is what it is. I go back and watch every once and a while for some laughs and nostalgia
This is from Zack Snyder's Watchmen, my favourite character is Rorschach. "Excuse me, have to visit the men's room"-Rorschach to Nite Owl and Silk Spectre II before he kills someone in the men's bathroom.
I’m telling you this sounds like the end credits scene of an apocalypse movie.
In a way it was, the end of a certain franchise.
A masterpiece of All Times.
Best SP song for me
This song sings my soul...

You can tell just by listening to it that this song was written for the closing credits of a movie.
Batman Forever 👍😎
@@Numerber1Musican It was actually for Batman & Robin.
I think it was for batman returns… there were a lot of batman movies coming out during the 90s
I know it was for Batman & Robin, but it just sounds too dark for that film, if you saw it.
Or a trailer :-p
“The world will look up and shout save us! And I’ll whisper no.”

Fuk yeah. Gotta let it to the void.
Lies again? Watching My Mom Go Black USD SGD
Rorschach is a great character, but that particular line was pure edgelord, as are the people who love to quote it because they think it's so cool.
I'm pretty sure this is a song of the end times.
It is
how appropriate.
@@BooksRebound The end started in 09.

@@BooksRebound Trust me, it all started going downhill from there.

@@wildearthbounder4927 I've always loved the version they did for the Batman and Robin movie.

Active Nihilism
One could argue that to prepare for the best one must prepare for the worst.
Its about vampires

Awesome song
Watchmen trailer and still the best DC trailer music and all
Best DC movie still or atleast to some.
"best?" Is that what you call it when you just lift the score from a different movie?
Dis song's from Batman, boi.

That new Batman trailer is a close second
Sounds like Covid19.
While the world burns due to disease and politicians, I sit back and smile, enjoying the decay and mayhem.

Never people change…
This is literally a song about the apocalypse
One woman owes the world what it deserves
Listen to the words, it’s peace and love
It describes Bruce Wayne so well.....but that's where I first heard this (Batman and Robin)
Makes me think of my boy Eren.
One of my favorites but very much over looked.

Everyone is quoating watchmen but this sonh was originaly for Batman and Robin lmao
I know. It's becoming rather tiresome.
This would’ve worked better in a great Batman movie as opposed to Batman and Robin.
They needed something (this song) to save that disaster. It does have some memorable scenes... don't quote me.
