Just about every cinematic in Mortal Kombat 1 is realistic to the point of not triggering uncanny valley, and the graphics of the game are actually on that level. EDIT: seems I triggered some nerds that can’t handle the truth that MK1 is an objectively gorgeous game, with flawless lip syncing and true-to-life facial animations. Say what you will about it releasing in an unfinished state, but none of the people crying “copium” in these comments have actually played the game to know about the its actual issues anyway.

What the actual fuck are you talking about? The quality of their Warcraft cinematics has GONE. Old Blizzard managed to create 10x the suspense in one of their cinematics than all of Blizzard's past 5 expansion cinematics combined. The writing is POOR, the oldschool Warcraft grounding is gone. Modern WoW is all about marvel shit instead of making you feel grounded within an immersive world.
Noticed a very cool detail during the title splash. Azeroth is seen exploding before it zooms out and reveals Kalimdor during the title splash. If you pay close attention, you'll notice the first explosion we see is directly on Silithus. Neat little detail that caught my eye.
Dude has PTSD, not a bitch. People go through it. The Voice acting and mocap was top notch. Really felt what Anduin has been shouldering. He’s way cooler now that he’s traumatized lol.
I think Asmon calls him a bitch because he wines a lot, he’s a priest, & he never fights. This was an exceptional cinematic. Thrall looks BA. Using a human for Anduin was top notch.

PTSD doesn't make anyone a bitch. This cinematic hit on a level that I can relate to. Understanding its a video game, someone on the writing staff wanted to conceptualize that with Anduin and I think it's worth being acknowledged.
I think its not the "He has ptsd thus it makes him a bitch" But the fact that Anduin just killed like 1 dude, and he was being mind controlled... So yeah... That doesnt really gives you PTSD, we had characters doing MUCH MUCH MORE fucked up shit in the past and they had mild PTSD at best. Hell there is a reason Saurfang said in a talk with Garrosh most orcs that survived the demon blood thing has serious PTSD himself included but they still kept moving forward, He even said he stoped eating Pork meat altogether because it reminded him of Orc children being slaugthered, Anduin didnt experienced anything even close to that to be like this
@TheMaxCloud PTSD isn't about quantity. It's experience. He killed a lot more while under the influence. He is also responsible for a lot of stuff that happened in Shadowlands, which he had no control over. You can't reduce the mental health affliction for the sake of argument

Because what he experienced in shadowlands... is not... Its nothing.... Literally nothing, a regular person, cannot have PTSD just for that, unless they are extremely fragile and mentally weak.
@TheMaxCloud I can tell you never served or have been in a war zone. PTSD isn't a result of failed mental fortitude. A rape victim may have one encounter but still suffer PTSD. A person could be assaulted from indirectly and still have a mental moment. It's not about fortitude. PTSD isn't a number generating Stat skill placement. It's real and can happen to anyone. From either being a survivor of Fallujah to a small skirmish outside the hills of a valley. Don't downplay it. I have personally lost friends to suicide because of it.

Ngl never played WoW but this seems to be headed to a “redo” type of thing, just like FF. New people in charge, an apocalyptic in game narrative and better cinematics out of nowhere ? It kind of hints towards that direction.

As someone with PTSD I think this depiction of Anduin is done very well and tasteful and recognizable without getting too soppy. He might be an emotional bitch and I would’ve loved some action but the detail the cinematic team put into this is mind blowing.
The whole story was that Sargeres wanted to destroy Azeroth so it doesn't get corrupted by the void. Now they are pretending this is all some kind of mystery...idiotic
The double meanings in this trailer fill me with a lot of confidence in the writing for this next expansion. The player base is represented here by Anduin. They have left the world after what they had to do and see. Metzen himself (he voices Thrall if you didn't know) is coming to invite us back to the World of Warcraft. The very soul of the world is calling us back for what may be one last great adventure in Azeroth. The sword represents the biggest joke that the community had, that the writers just didn't care about the lore or world anymore. It's being taken seriously here. I think this is the best cinematic WoW has ever produced. Not because of what's happening, but because what is being conveyed to the players. It's the opposite of the empty, soulless Dragonflight cinematic that was gorgeous, but was basically a mobile game cinematic.
Couldn’t agree more. Not ashamed to say I teared up quite a bit watching this the first time live from the stream. All the comments saying this is too “Feelings” related - Metzen himself even said that all big, epic things start with a heartfelt moment. I think the big and epic is still to come. But, boy, this one hit straight in the feels. Second best cinematic in my book, first being WotLK.

I know we all meme on WAHnduin, but this trailer was not what I expected - at all, and...I kinda like it. We haven't had heaps of epic promises about imminent features or fast-time gimmicks. Instead we've been told about what sounds like a slower burn Saga that honestly is long overdue. One of the biggest issues is the constant rollercoaster ride - big bad, new world, new stuff, next expac, all redundant. I really don't mind if they put more feels into the game, provided they are executed with depth and time to simmer. I want to be immersed and *feel* the game. Yes, I want hairy-sweaty-dude-battles but, we've done all the real pre-established stories already. The new stuff has to have a chance to feel *earned* and it's only going to get there if the audience feels invested. This interaction leaves me curious. Not blindly-hyped for some epic nonsense that feels underwhelming by the end - but intrigued as to where this intimate scene could take the story, to what heights and most importantly; depths. I want to love WoW again.

I think it could be a Golden opportunity for them to turn a corner on how they deliver/execute a pre-contained narrative. Whether they actually do it, or it's any good whatsoever remains to be seen. Haha that's what I thought after hearing "It will be a story going through 3 expansions", kinda like FFXIV i thought, but adding Azeroth titan like Hydaelyn feels like they want to go the same way. Also it feels bizzarre how FFXIV just starts a fresh new story after finishing a multi expansion one, while WoW just starts multi expansion story after many one expansions stories xD
The cinematic honestly had more of a feel of epic fantasy along the lines of LOTR, Narnia, or GoT than the typical comic book fantasy that WoW usually goes for. On one hand, I personally like that direction. On the other, I don't know if that's the direction that most WoW players will want, I guess we'll have to see once it releases. Also important to consider that BfA had one of WoW's best tone setting cinematics and they did fumble the story (though Metzen was gone for most of the development of BfA and they didn't seem to have such a long term plan at that point). It will be interesting to see how this saga plays out over (hopefully) the rest of the decade.

The VFX & CGI team seriously went S-tier.. Just the sheer amounts of detail & imperfections you'd expect while filmmaking an actual actor except it's all done so well. From rigging, armature, facial muscles/contractions, etc. Damn
its only going to get better with new animation and game engines. we are getting to a point where these things are going to be almost indistinguishable from real life. i cant tell you when that will actually happen. but man we are unbelievably close. humans are definitely built to tell the difference and not, so im not sure what else has to be improved to actually make these feel real in a 1 to 1 with reality.

From a narrative perspective Anduin's mentality makes perfect sense, for a priest who was basically controlled by the antithesis of his entire being, and forced to do horrible things. So a bad take on Asmon's part, IMO.
Many people says Anduin is a soyboy, weak, b@tch etc... He always wanted to see Azeroth a better place, had to live in his Father shadow and expectations, even Varian recognised that what he wants from his son to become he cannot force it on Anduin. He was also forced to act against others and kill innocents because of Sylvanas and the Jailer and also been triggered by memories whats not really his but Arthas`s.. yes true society dont expect and allow men to be visibly "weak and broken" but i believe they`ll write a good journey for him to become someone, a king if you like, who people in the game can look up (like yes he fell but built himself up again from that shattered bloody place where he was)
Personally, I am pumped for the War Within and the whole Saga. I am so glad that it's just classic warcraft fantasy -- elves, dwarves, nerub, etc. -- instead of some gimmick like "a pirate expansion!" "an egypt expansion!" .. Glad it's just core warcraft fantasy and worldbuilding. The warbands sounds like a great idea, and a creative way to do something people have been asking for for a long time (shared rep). It's also a great idea to link the expansions together, give some real weight to the storylines, see the world and story evolve as you go and feel more immersed. I am glad to see characters we know back like Thrall and Alleria. I think at least half of people will say it's bad no matter literally what blizzard does, but I for one love this game, play it all the time, and think this is great. The whole Classic+ pipedream -- it's not even a cognizable idea. You ask 100 different people what it is you get 100 different answers. Some say an expansion, but for vanilla. Some say just new patches for vanilla, as if TBC was never released. Some say new endgame content, some say new leveling content. Some say new endgame content but _not_ raids -- like new other stuff to do out in the world... It's not really a coherent idea, just some amorphous notion of greatness people have in their head for what _they_ personally want to happen with classic. So that said, I think it's cool that they are experimenting with new classic content with this season of discovery. That's a cool idea and could be building blocks to eventually get to something that might fit some people's vague idea about what Classic+ is. I am skeptical they would ever create a full-fledged game with regular updates alongside retail... Why would they introduce competition to their own flagship game?
I feel like the general consensus for classic+ is new leveling content, new endgame content (including raids), and class tweaks. All in patches, of course. The specifics within those might differ, but thats the definition of classic+ for most people.
Don’t get your hopes up yet man!! A lot of us thought BFA was going to be a godlike xpac and a very Alliance vs Horde driven expansion. That was not encapsulated as well as we had hoped
So after crying about the world sould since Cataclysm, suddenly no one remembers it, and act like it's a big surprise or mystery... Ok... Great story writing indeed.. Can't waaait to hear what the titans "ACTUAL" plan is after the "3 chapters".. Guaranteed a total screw up of the intent and everything classic through legion is about at least.. Can't wait to see how many gonna fall for this YET again..

I actually wish that about WoW in general and wish it wasn't so much trending toward horde and ally coming together. I think it's lost a special dynamic that the game once had with two warring factions made up entirely of real people playing. But, I've also sort of just accepted this is the direction they are going in and have been for a while, so it's w/e

Yeah, I don't know about Asmon calling Anduin a bitch. I am studying clinical psychology, with a focus on PTSD this semester. I have seen both men and women profoundly affected by extreme trauma. Some of the worst cases I have seen don't come from war, but occur in every country; they are observed in patients who were largely sold as sex slaves. Starvation, forcible binding, burning, genital mutilation, and frequent and extreme amounts of abuse are daily occurrences in their lives. I enjoy watching Asmon casually, but some of his takes on how human cognition and behaviorism work are concerning. PTSD, as well as Complex PTSD, can lead to extreme dysfunction and impairment, and in some instances, those who suffer from it can barely take care of themselves. This is not to say that ALL PTSD victims are unable to function, as PTSD and its severity vary from patient to patient, and it's not a blanket condition. Victims will not all develop the same responses to traumas even when exposed to the same negative stimulus.
Honestly, the ONLY nit pick i have for the whole trailer is Anduin's teeth being too perfect. He has cracked and bleeding skin, lips. Scars. He is scruffy as hell, but his teeth may as well be the light itself because theyre so blindingly white and perfect in contrast with everything else. Dude has let his entire appearance go, but brushes his teeth 5 times per day and uses whitening gel regularly.
I played wow for a solid 2 years back in 2010. I loved it, it wasn’t the prettiest game but it certainly made up for it with mechanics and size. Now we are in 2024 and I’ve looked at maybe getting back into wow. But… it’s just not there. The game has aged, considerably. It needs a refresh to bring it into 2024. Graphics overhaul, engine overhaul, mechanics overhaul. It needs it. I think they’ve milked this engine hard and they keep pumping out lacklustre expansion after lacklustre expansion.
Hmmmm wouldn't it be cool if both sides could set aside their differences and come together to fight a foe that threatens the world? Surely that hasn't been done before.

The globe that we see in the cinematic is color-coded silver-orange-blue so that people can understand it's actually Azeroth titan soul (azerite was literally the very same color combination). Why wasn't Magni more specific? Welp, Blizzard writing (tm). Also, Metzen has already confirmed that in the third and last expansion of the "Saga" we will find out that "Titans are not what we know of them and the consipiracy that stretches throughout the world history will finally be revealed." They are literally foreshadowing the "Titans bad, Sargeras good" Illidan 3.0 redemption arc in your face (yes, the most obvious turn of events), but you don't want to admit the obvious and come up with the theories. Saw the exact same thing with BfA and Sylvanas' arc there.
As someone who doesn't play WoW, the dialogue was a bit clunky (to be vague about the mystery) but the acting and emotions of the scene were good. Sorry to WoW fans who don't like men crying we all know you're so alpha and never show emotion

So a bodiless voice from the planet's core that appears like a large glowing light sends visions to our heroes that starts with "Hear" and asks our heroes to find out the secret of a giant sword sitting in the middle of a battlefield from an ancient empire that predates the modern culture... Meanwhile the damaged goods blond guy who as more facial hair now after a tragic mishap and a tricked out sword sets out to investigate.

I just hate that he goes from I'M AN EVIL BAD GUY to Yeah Thrall let's do it together :) in a matter of a few seconds... You just had an emotional moment and there's no natural shift when he decides to join them.
Imo it seems like they are gonna make anduins dark side come out alot more but he still has his humanity. If you look at thrall when he touches his shoulders the background seems to represent a dark forecast on one side and a setting sun on the other kind of indicating to me he has borderline no light left in him after what has happened. Just me reaching but I feel like blizzard always sprinkles little hidden meanings in their work

These are two characters who lost belief in themselves (their powers) and had to run away to face their demons, but they've made it through the night, and a new day (fight) begins... “He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day. But he who is battle slain, can never rise to fight again” The prodigal suns have returned to center stage (pun intended).
That's what he was doing all this time. He was in Silithus because he was there to face the threat, he just needed someone to stand by him. Still not very Warcraft, but if it were any other story, then it would be great. I want Warcraft where characters are too brutal to break down.
For years i had this theory, that Azeroth is a sleeping titan that empowers the very world she rests in, and al those who inhabits her, good or evil gets the potential to grow in strenght beond what normal mortals should. And during legion we stepped in to the doorstepps of the titan pantheon and cleaned our their shit, suddenly now they are hit with the realization that the mortals grow in power enough to rival them and their agenda.
I'm not sure I'm correct on my guess how wow lore is but when I read sargeras b4 he when evil manage to find another world was corrupted by the old gods and he when and captured several demons to question them of what evil is scheming... The demon told that the old god is trying to take over the world stone and do something bad and so sargeras decided to end their scheme by cleaving that world in half and destroying it... He when and report back to his brothers who is the titans but they cast him out for mass genocide and sargeras decided to cut ties with them and release the creatures(demons) and form the faction burning legion which it's goal is the cleanse the world from the old gods scheme which it's called the burning crusade... It's more like sargeras doing sort of self righteous doing by cleansing the world by killing everyone and he don't care if being called evil... So I'm just GUESSING that azeroth was the target and he manage to plunge that sword to the world but did not finish the job because of the heroes and titans are preventing it from happening and now he's coming back to finish the job.... I dunno this is my guessing
Yet one of the most loved cinematic from blizz in recent history is saurfang talking about his feelings too. Don't just hate on things just for the sake of hating. Try to think a little bit outside of the box sometimes
I would love this type of strong lore with great storytelling, but the actual gameplay footage with added stuff made me realize why I stopped playing retail. It's like the total opposite of what I enjoy playing.

Noticed a very cool detail during the title splash.
Azeroth is seen exploding before it zooms out and reveals Kalimdor during the title splash. If you pay close attention, you'll notice the first explosion we see is directly on Silithus.
Neat little detail that caught my eye.

PTSD doesn't make anyone a bitch. This cinematic hit on a level that I can relate to. Understanding its a video game, someone on the writing staff wanted to conceptualize that with Anduin and I think it's worth being acknowledged.

Hell there is a reason Saurfang said in a talk with Garrosh most orcs that survived the demon blood thing has serious PTSD himself included but they still kept moving forward, He even said he stoped eating Pork meat altogether because it reminded him of Orc children being slaugthered, Anduin didnt experienced anything even close to that to be like this
@TheMaxCloud PTSD isn't about quantity. It's experience. He killed a lot more while under the influence. He is also responsible for a lot of stuff that happened in Shadowlands, which he had no control over. You can't reduce the mental health affliction for the sake of argument

Because what he experienced in shadowlands... is not... Its nothing.... Literally nothing, a regular person, cannot have PTSD just for that, unless they are extremely fragile and mentally weak.
@TheMaxCloud I can tell you never served or have been in a war zone. PTSD isn't a result of failed mental fortitude. A rape victim may have one encounter but still suffer PTSD. A person could be assaulted from indirectly and still have a mental moment. It's not about fortitude. PTSD isn't a number generating Stat skill placement. It's real and can happen to anyone. From either being a survivor of Fallujah to a small skirmish outside the hills of a valley. Don't downplay it. I have personally lost friends to suicide because of it.

As someone with PTSD I think this depiction of Anduin is done very well and tasteful and recognizable without getting too soppy. He might be an emotional bitch and I would’ve loved some action but the detail the cinematic team put into this is mind blowing.
Pretty interesting that a person who's biggest trauma is having to go outside and get showers calls someone with PTSD a bitch.

The double meanings in this trailer fill me with a lot of confidence in the writing for this next expansion. The player base is represented here by Anduin. They have left the world after what they had to do and see. Metzen himself (he voices Thrall if you didn't know) is coming to invite us back to the World of Warcraft. The very soul of the world is calling us back for what may be one last great adventure in Azeroth. The sword represents the biggest joke that the community had, that the writers just didn't care about the lore or world anymore. It's being taken seriously here.
I think this is the best cinematic WoW has ever produced. Not because of what's happening, but because what is being conveyed to the players. It's the opposite of the empty, soulless Dragonflight cinematic that was gorgeous, but was basically a mobile game cinematic.

I know we all meme on WAHnduin, but this trailer was not what I expected - at all, and...I kinda like it. We haven't had heaps of epic promises about imminent features or fast-time gimmicks. Instead we've been told about what sounds like a slower burn Saga that honestly is long overdue.
One of the biggest issues is the constant rollercoaster ride - big bad, new world, new stuff, next expac, all redundant. I really don't mind if they put more feels into the game, provided they are executed with depth and time to simmer. I want to be immersed and *feel* the game. Yes, I want hairy-sweaty-dude-battles but, we've done all the real pre-established stories already. The new stuff has to have a chance to feel *earned* and it's only going to get there if the audience feels invested.
This interaction leaves me curious. Not blindly-hyped for some epic nonsense that feels underwhelming by the end - but intrigued as to where this intimate scene could take the story, to what heights and most importantly; depths. I want to love WoW again.

I think it could be a Golden opportunity for them to turn a corner on how they deliver/execute a pre-contained narrative. Whether they actually do it, or it's any good whatsoever remains to be seen. Also it feels bizzarre how FFXIV just starts a fresh new story after finishing a multi expansion one, while WoW just starts multi expansion story after many one expansions stories xD

The cinematic honestly had more of a feel of epic fantasy along the lines of LOTR, Narnia, or GoT than the typical comic book fantasy that WoW usually goes for. On one hand, I personally like that direction. On the other, I don't know if that's the direction that most WoW players will want, I guess we'll have to see once it releases. Also important to consider that BfA had one of WoW's best tone setting cinematics and they did fumble the story (though Metzen was gone for most of the development of BfA and they didn't seem to have such a long term plan at that point). It will be interesting to see how this saga plays out over (hopefully) the rest of the decade.
WoW players will be ok with anything after that horrendously shitty story we got with BFA->Shadowlands

The VFX & CGI team seriously went S-tier.. Just the sheer amounts of detail & imperfections you'd expect while filmmaking an actual actor except it's all done so well. From rigging, armature, facial muscles/contractions, etc. Damn
Its worth noting the team on this used no motion capture. Thats insanely impressive even by Blizzard standards.

its only going to get better with new animation and game engines. we are getting to a point where these things are going to be almost indistinguishable from real life. i cant tell you when that will actually happen. but man we are unbelievably close. humans are definitely built to tell the difference and not, so im not sure what else has to be improved to actually make these feel real in a 1 to 1 with reality.

From a narrative perspective Anduin's mentality makes perfect sense, for a priest who was basically controlled by the antithesis of his entire being, and forced to do horrible things. So a bad take on Asmon's part, IMO.

Many people says Anduin is a soyboy, weak, b@tch etc... He always wanted to see Azeroth a better place, had to live in his Father shadow and expectations, even Varian recognised that what he wants from his son to become he cannot force it on Anduin. He was also forced to act against others and kill innocents because of Sylvanas and the Jailer and also been triggered by memories whats not really his but Arthas`s.. yes true society dont expect and allow men to be visibly "weak and broken" but i believe they`ll write a good journey for him to become someone, a king if you like, who people in the game can look up (like yes he fell but built himself up again from that shattered bloody place where he was)
Personally, I am pumped for the War Within and the whole Saga. I am so glad that it's just classic warcraft fantasy -- elves, dwarves, nerub, etc. -- instead of some gimmick like "a pirate expansion!" "an egypt expansion!" .. Glad it's just core warcraft fantasy and worldbuilding. The warbands sounds like a great idea, and a creative way to do something people have been asking for for a long time (shared rep). It's also a great idea to link the expansions together, give some real weight to the storylines, see the world and story evolve as you go and feel more immersed. I am glad to see characters we know back like Thrall and Alleria.
I think at least half of people will say it's bad no matter literally what blizzard does, but I for one love this game, play it all the time, and think this is great.
The whole Classic+ pipedream -- it's not even a cognizable idea. You ask 100 different people what it is you get 100 different answers. Some say an expansion, but for vanilla. Some say just new patches for vanilla, as if TBC was never released. Some say new endgame content, some say new leveling content. Some say new endgame content but _not_ raids -- like new other stuff to do out in the world... It's not really a coherent idea, just some amorphous notion of greatness people have in their head for what _they_ personally want to happen with classic. So that said, I think it's cool that they are experimenting with new classic content with this season of discovery. That's a cool idea and could be building blocks to eventually get to something that might fit some people's vague idea about what Classic+ is. I am skeptical they would ever create a full-fledged game with regular updates alongside retail... Why would they introduce competition to their own flagship game?
I feel like the general consensus for classic+ is new leveling content, new endgame content (including raids), and class tweaks. All in patches, of course.
The specifics within those might differ, but thats the definition of classic+ for most people.

A lot of us thought BFA was going to be a godlike xpac and a very Alliance vs Horde driven expansion. That was not encapsulated as well as we had hoped
So after crying about the world sould since Cataclysm, suddenly no one remembers it, and act like it's a big surprise or mystery... Ok... Great story writing indeed.. Can't waaait to hear what the titans "ACTUAL" plan is after the "3 chapters".. Guaranteed a total screw up of the intent and everything classic through legion is about at least.. Can't wait to see how many gonna fall for this YET again..

Yeah, I don't know about Asmon calling Anduin a bitch. I am studying clinical psychology, with a focus on PTSD this semester. I have seen both men and women profoundly affected by extreme trauma. Some of the worst cases I have seen don't come from war, but occur in every country; they are observed in patients who were largely sold as sex slaves. Starvation, forcible binding, burning, genital mutilation, and frequent and extreme amounts of abuse are daily occurrences in their lives.
I enjoy watching Asmon casually, but some of his takes on how human cognition and behaviorism work are concerning. PTSD, as well as Complex PTSD, can lead to extreme dysfunction and impairment, and in some instances, those who suffer from it can barely take care of themselves. This is not to say that ALL PTSD victims are unable to function, as PTSD and its severity vary from patient to patient, and it's not a blanket condition. Victims will not all develop the same responses to traumas even when exposed to the same negative stimulus.

Honestly, the ONLY nit pick i have for the whole trailer is Anduin's teeth being too perfect. He has cracked and bleeding skin, lips. Scars. He is scruffy as hell, but his teeth may as well be the light itself because theyre so blindingly white and perfect in contrast with everything else. Dude has let his entire appearance go, but brushes his teeth 5 times per day and uses whitening gel regularly.
I've always laughed at that. They look so messed up but somehow have the Pearl Whites being as shiny as ever!

I loved it, it wasn’t the prettiest game but it certainly made up for it with mechanics and size.
Now we are in 2024 and I’ve looked at maybe getting back into wow.
But… it’s just not there.

The globe that we see in the cinematic is color-coded silver-orange-blue so that people can understand it's actually Azeroth titan soul (azerite was literally the very same color combination). Why wasn't Magni more specific? Welp, Blizzard writing (tm).
Also, Metzen has already confirmed that in the third and last expansion of the "Saga" we will find out that "Titans are not what we know of them and the consipiracy that stretches throughout the world history will finally be revealed."
They are literally foreshadowing the "Titans bad, Sargeras good" Illidan 3.0 redemption arc in your face (yes, the most obvious turn of events), but you don't want to admit the obvious and come up with the theories. Saw the exact same thing with BfA and Sylvanas' arc there.
As someone who doesn't play WoW, the dialogue was a bit clunky (to be vague about the mystery) but the acting and emotions of the scene were good. Sorry to WoW fans who don't like men crying we all know you're so alpha and never show emotion

Meanwhile the damaged goods blond guy who as more facial hair now after a tragic mishap and a tricked out sword sets out to investigate.
It's like every final fantasy.
In broad strokes, it’s how every classic manly Hero’s Journey story starts. I’m totally fine with this.

More like a representation of the core fanbase. A kid during WC1-2, a teen in WC3, and a father in his 30s-40s at the present.

Imo it seems like they are gonna make anduins dark side come out alot more but he still has his humanity. If you look at thrall when he touches his shoulders the background seems to represent a dark forecast on one side and a setting sun on the other kind of indicating to me he has borderline no light left in him after what has happened.

For years i had this theory, that Azeroth is a sleeping titan that empowers the very world she rests in, and al those who inhabits her, good or evil gets the potential to grow in strenght beond what normal mortals should.
And during legion we stepped in to the doorstepps of the titan pantheon and cleaned our their shit, suddenly now they are hit with the realization that the mortals grow in power enough to rival them and their agenda.

I'm not sure I'm correct on my guess how wow lore is but when I read sargeras b4 he when evil manage to find another world was corrupted by the old gods and he when and captured several demons to question them of what evil is scheming... The demon told that the old god is trying to take over the world stone and do something bad and so sargeras decided to end their scheme by cleaving that world in half and destroying it... He when and report back to his brothers who is the titans but they cast him out for mass genocide and sargeras decided to cut ties with them and release the creatures(demons) and form the faction burning legion which it's goal is the cleanse the world from the old gods scheme which it's called the burning crusade...
It's more like sargeras doing sort of self righteous doing by cleansing the world by killing everyone and he don't care if being called evil...
So I'm just GUESSING that azeroth was the target and he manage to plunge that sword to the world but did not finish the job because of the heroes and titans are preventing it from happening and now he's coming back to finish the job....

I would love this type of strong lore with great storytelling, but the actual gameplay footage with added stuff made me realize why I stopped playing retail. It's like the total opposite of what I enjoy playing.
