- In todays video we are back in Germany. We check out a herd of Fleckvieh cows with a GEA milk robot that can milk 3 cows at once with just 1 robot arm. Extremely impressed with this set up! Great to see how a big Fleckvieh cow can produce great square calves. A great multipurpose breed.
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

Phil, you'd put RTE with their big budgets to shame.
Whats RTE?
@@drdumbo9830They run Irish ☘️ television and radio 📻.We watch and listen to programmes and we don’t live in Ireland 🇮🇪.

I have a couple of fleckvieh cows, i noticed they make everywhere holes in the field like a excavator
Excellent video. Very interesting. Nice to see things from the other side. You can't beat a little travel. Hope you all enjoyed the experience
Those Fleckvieh are thick stubborn cows to work with. The Brown Swiss on the other hand are lovely cows, excellent temprement, good udders, hard black hooves and pure pets. I should know, we have a herd of them.
Great video Phil, well worth a watch, thank you and good luck to you
Very interesting, thanks for sharing
Great video. Interesting farm yards and novel ideas. Keep up the good work.
I saw a robot milker like that on a trip to Germany in 2019 and when I said to the owner that I hadn’t saw a robot like that before the owners reply was that they wish they had never saw it either because it was very troublesome .
Hi Phil, good video nice to see how different it is from farm to farm how things are done the milking machine was different. It was a nice clean farm well planned out.
Great video
First time I saw that robot milker. Pretty neat
What did u buy from the milstreet machinery show
Some milles covered on that trip
We have been try to cross some milking Short horns with our Holsteins the milking Shorthorns should be better udders and better temperament than fleckvieh
Yea what did you buy Phil ? Noah
👍
Brown swiss are nice.
Nice set up thanks for sharing
Love the fleckvieh mate, Iam converting my whole dairy herd to them here in Australia. Would you consider rearing more of them to get them finished and away quicker?
Hi Phil I’m milking Fleckvieh in Kilkenny and am really happy with them. They would not suit everyone but I can’t see why they are not more popular in Ireland. We milk with a robot and they are particular suited to robotic milking for a load of different reasons. The main one is you can milk more Fleckvieh per robot than Friesians.
Great video Phil. Good camera work and great interviews. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Good stuff
👍👍🙏🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪👌👌
😊😊😂
Flekvieh solids are not good, nor is it efficent milking a big heavy cow
@daireharlin181 Do you know anything about the brown swiss solids? Are they any better?
☝️
I milk on a farm which cross bred Holstien cows with Fleckvieh and brown swiss. The brown swiss x milk better and some of the fleckvieh can be stubborn to deal with
Stubborn, now that’s what I would call an understatement, pig headed is what I would say, when you are used to nice civilised black and white cows it’s a bit of a shock to then have to deal with a fleckvieh and their bags go very quickly.
With all these visits to dairy farms phill you might catch the bug for it 😂 great video
Braunvieh are brown swiss, used to have them, glorious cows, temperament, milk quality and volume, absolutely loved them. Was a dairy farmer in cork but stopped 12 years ago due to tb and milk price, still the case. What a clean well kept farm.
Very interesting A different kind of robot
Lovely set-up, agree with you that there is better space in Ireland for wider amount of dairy breeds to better suit beef market too!!
Great video thats interesting about the robot fleckvieh are great looking cattle might milk some someday
We tried fleckvieh years ago lovely big cows but very stubborn and difficult to milk great cull money

What's the song at the start called
I have not seen the breed that they milk before.
Great video Phil
Nice video 👌👌👌
I’d say Liv will put up a parlour yet.
She’s the one who took out the last parlour in place of a piggery
