- The food hall is the newest entry into the crowded Las Vegas dining scene, and there are already at least ten of them spread up and down the Strip and even out in the neighborhoods! C'mon along with us as we visit ten new food halls, and showcase what they have to offer...including a bunch of tastings. This is a fun one, for the foodie in all of us!

Hey folks here's an update as of June 2024. The Sundry at Uncommons - the first food hall we feature in this video - is closing, after being open just one year. Just want to make sure you're aware, in case you wanted to visit.
you guy's sure do a lot of work on these videos, the walking and parking would take a long expensive time, but I think everybody appreciates it. thanx another good one.
I appreciate all the TLC you two put into each video. I’ve been a regular on your channel for 3 years and you are part of my life 😊 I’m sorry some people are so nasty and hateful. It’s a reflection of how they feel about their own lives and has nothing to do with you, but I’m sure it still hurts 😢 Please know most of us love you and a big chunk of our lives would be missing if you quit TH-cam. ❤
In our opinion,these Vegas developers are going the wrong way. We have no desire to fly across country at great expense to eat in a food court. Every mall in the country has these gussied-up self service cafeterias. Horrible.
This isn't good customer service, it's just cheaper for them to run. It isn't fun, it isn't special, and we hate it.
What happens when everyones phone quit working one day? You know it going to happen!
The food hall concept is fine but I still prefer the interaction with a waiter or waitress at a traditional sit down restaurant
If I am going to pay high prices, I want personal service, but they have been training the kids for many years now to pay more and get less for their money. Am not paying for feel-good sayings and fancy wall murals. Thanks for the tour.

Some food halls are great like Eataly, but others are just a more expensive Buffet substitute. I still miss the Buffets, like the buffet at the Orleans, say what you may about them but they got the job done. Great video as always, thanks a lot Dale, thanks a lot Paula, you are the greatest!
I agree. I prefer Buffets with lots of options. I can try everything that I want and pay a decent amount. As opposed to having to pay a high cost somewhere it's hard to decide on one thing.
As a local, I think the Palms AYCE buffet is the best deal, particularly if you play there and can earn either a free buffet or use their very generous dining comps. I'm really glad the Palms kept their buffet.
wow, that was a lot of work to go to each of those. it was so enjoyable watching. we've been to the food hall at the freemont in downtown. very small but i love steak n shake.

However, just can't believe the absurdly high price of the sub, chips, and a coke...nearly $30!?
Something like that was like 5 or 6 bucks not that long ago. Everything is getting ridiculously expensive, Vegas or not!
I would much rather watch you guys rather than Mark and Kelly.
The place is beautiful and seems to be upbeat but if I have to scan a QR code or order from a kiosk, I don't want it.
I'd like a traditional menu and a traditional server or at least be able to walk up and verbally give my order
Mobile order is going to be the thing because they can’t find people to work. And people are not tipping servers who make 2.13 an hour PLUS tips. Theme parks have shown how efficient mobile order can me. Most of the time

The Sundry was very pretty but I’m of the mindset that if a waiter can bring me my food then he can take my order too.

Want to try Bobby Flay’s Burgers! Looked delicious.
We liked the burgers & you have to try the bacon cheese fries. We ate at the Harrah’s location.
Paula & Dale, I completely agree with you about the phone ordering thing, especially when dining in like that. I work in IT and I'm for tech advances, but I'm also traditional and like things simple. I had a similar situation recently at Wal Mart. I had to buy a hardware part for my front door and it was on sale at Wal Mart but only thru online purchase and in store pick up. Okay no big deal. Purchased the item online thru their website. Next day drove to the location to pick up. Clicked on the "I have arrived" link on the order email and they wanted me to download the Wal Mart app. I'm not downloading your stupid app just to pick up something I paid for! So you guys are not alone in the feeling. We have become too app dependent.

I’m still not sure how I feel about the rise of the food halls. I don’t love them nor hate them but it definitely caters to the era we are in now with people constantly being on their cell phones. It will be hard to navigate for people my mom‘s age who aren’t that great using their cell phone anyway so trying to order food from there will be a challenge.
I'm a burger guy all the way so I will try Lola's Burgers. In-N-Out and Shake Shack are two must-haves for me, but I also wanna try Gordon Ramsey Burger, the new Whataburger and several others. Food halls are good places to get a variety of foods. I particular like to go to the Miracle Mile shops for the many food options there. I'm in Vegas for a week very soon. Can't wait.
The food halls are great. I do miss the buffets that were replaced. Tony Luke's at the Rio Canteen Food Hall is as good as it original South Philly location and maybe just a dollar or so more. HattiBs at the Cosmo has the best chicken tenders in town. Thanks for your video. Irvs Burgers at the Durango is on my list for next time.

The apartment architecture in a lot of mixed-use areas is lifeless Stalinesque drab. I guess I'm not cool enough to appreciate it.
I am just like you Dale and Paula, I need/want a paper menu in my hands. It annoys me having to get on my phone to look at a menu - being in my mid 40's, I have an older phone (10 or so years old) and it does not have a QR Code reader, it's slow to bring up website no matter which one it is, etc. Thanks for another great video! Keep up the great work as always! 🙂

Another great video! Very informative. The last couple of times that I was in Vegas I was a little afraid to try all the food halls with the phone ordering etc., but I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get with the program. Like Dale, I do like the human touch. Going to be down there for 10 days from the 12th, so I will have to give it a go. Thanks again for the great job at reviewing the halls and all the best.

Uncommons looks like an interesting place!
I’m not a fan of most of these food halls, primarily because the menus tend to be very limited, especially at Aria and Resorts World. The Durango casino appears to have the best food hall, good variety and larger menus.
Instead, I visit the few cafe/coffee shops left on the Strip. Sadelle’s, Primrose, America Cafe, Mon Ami Gabi and Cafe Hollywood are a much more enjoyable experience.
I love you both but HATE the food halls. I love cozy and cozy it is NOT. Fancy and more expensive food courts than at the malls

Hate food halls with the same generic food venders from somewhere else ...soon every food hall will be the same ...why travel when you just get a carbon copy of a place back home...much prefer little mum and pop cafes...thanks for your video❤

I had Tony Lukes Cheesesteaks in the early days in Philly and was not a fan. There are a number of better cheesesteaks in Philly, but they are not as aggressive at franchising. Glad you liked it though.

We went to the food hall at the aria in December , it was definitely different. We got pizza.. very tasty

Thing for me is that most of these food halls don't accept cash. That's a deal breaker for me.
We tried Eataly last year and it was amazing. It took us ages to decide what to have because there was so much choice.
I tried the food hall at Durango and it was very busy in late afternoon Sunday. I got as far as Nielsens custard ice cream and bought a to go sundae.

Well to be honest, these new food halls don’t seem to lean towards salad and veggie establishments. There’s no Panera Bread! I guess the healthier option would be the sushi places, but we don’t do sushi.
@@DaleMcKenzie very understandable. Vegas IS sin city, and there's that heart attack place. The CDC stated the top 5+ killers of Americans are meat-based and easily avoidable... Stroke, gout, heart attacks, cancers etc. all meat based disease

At least at Harrahs you can order your food from a person and not an app so that helps especially if you have modifications.
