What’s the movie about?
In order to save his father from an accident, stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) sells his soul to the devil. This deal has a price: human by day, Ghost Rider by night, he’s now the devil’s bounty hunter. With a flaming skull and a fiery motorcycle, he is sent to hunt down sinners.

I would love to see a prequel of Carter Slade, I think his story of being ghost rider would be so dope. The horse on fire makes him look much more bad ass

It is a shame this was a year before Iron Man when the MCU started, and also a shame they could not bring Ghost Rider in sooner before the AOS version.
This Ride is one of the coolest shots of a movie ever.
The biggest sin of this movie was not having the two Ghost Riders fight side by side at the end. Especially with that unpredictable line. The last thing Blackheart would have expected is for our hero to have backup.

I personally find it hard to believe absolutely nobody before Johnny ever sold their soul to save someone before, but it’s a nice touch and a nice line nonetheless.

@@ventricality6997 of course it can be brushed off with it just being a movie but realistically by making a deal that you double cross by killing their family it would break someone pretty easily and make them more manipulatable/posessable after the fact. It's basically the path johnny was going down before he got back with roxanne, a husk that the rider would posess for like a month to take down the guy the devil wanted and then leave for dead himself

As bad as these movies were, at least it looked and felt like Ghost Rider. Also, I feel both Blade and Ghost Rider do not get enough credit for paving the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Even to this day....this scene still gives me chills
The only issue I have is that after he turns into ghost rider he rides with him a bit and than disappears so he basically achieved nothing but a cool scene.
I mean, the only reason he kept himself alive all those years was because he needed to safeguard the contract. After that, he just wanted to see Johnny do the right thing. I thought it was a great scene

To be fair he was running on fumes at that point and his purpose was fulfilled, the ride along not only made a cool scene but I feel was his way of passing on not only his physical form but also his legacy to the new GR.

A horse, keeping up with a modern bike, means that horse can travel. Flaming undead or not.

His speech was my favorite part of that whole movie I'm a very proud Christian and when he gets to the part about God being on his side making him dangerous and unpredictable gives me chills every time I watch it

This movie came out in 2007. i grew up watching this movie with my family. we watched it every Tuesday and Friday. me and my dad still have that tradition to watch Ghost Rider on Tuesdays and Fridays

Everybody can say what they want about Nicholas Cage and the Ghost Rider movies in general, but like it or not, this scene is 100% badass and you cannot deny it.

I love how the “He was buried with it” was literal with it being in the shovel. That’s one of those puzzles I’d expect from a point-and-click adventure game, Boxcar Kids book or D&D game.
This scene is so damn epic, if you ignore the fact the caretaker does nothing after that ride.

What made no sense was, "I SAVED MY LAST RIDE FOR THIS" The hell? Save your last ride to actually do something not just ride there and leave. Lmao
Yeah I was hoping he'd help in the fight, he just rode with him and then said alright good luck.
Well it's just that, he mentioned the location was over 500 miles away.
That's a five hour drive at least, maybe more. By the time Johnny got there the sun was on the verge of rising, plus neither of these guys took a road. Carter was probably saving his last transformation in case he was ever found or the scroll was compromised; but since a new Ghost Rider took the mantle it didn't really matter. I think Carter knew Johnny would win when he said he didn't lose his spirit. We see in the other movie the ghost rider can practically send the devil himself back to hell, so two is probably overkill.
Plus, you gotta look at it like this. Homie has been cursed since the industrial revolution, he's probably fought more people than you or I could count and lived the equivalent of three human lives. If you're immortal, a lot of things get old. Sometimes you have to let people fight their own fights and let things write themselves.
Johnny fought half of the battle in the light of day, basically showed that the main villain was never a match, even with the scroll.

Carter was waiting for a new ghost rider to come and take his place and he had to safeguard the scroll until then. And his last ride was him passing on his legacy and he also truly wanted to die but he couldn’t until a new rider showed up.
A bit late but just wanted to say that he said "I got one last ride left in me" not "I saved my last ride for this". But yeah a bit disappointed that he didn't fight as well.

Carter Slade was always the cooler ghost rider imo. He did it for a good reason, his ride was a horse, and both horse and rider looked way cooler. What's more badass than a fiery cowboy riding his equally fiery trusty hellhorse through the desert night to op music?! And the flaming hoof prints he left behind, so cool.
