@@gzahnd pretty sure she's referring to the Dempster highway in general - which was opened in the 1960's and only the Inuvik to Tuk section opened in 2017.
LOL Kevin's face recounting the tales from the ferry was a picture . Good job ! We await each new episode with baited breath . You all have stolen a special place in our hearts . Safe travels and happy memories . Fattrucker
I lived in Alaska for 37 years, seeing that crappy weather reminds me of it, snow isn't far behind the rain, for the next 8 months. Glad to be in arizona now. That ride on the ferry across the river reminded me of the ferry across the Yukon by Dawson City. Thanks for the adventure...
Nice to have someone to share your adventure with. It's a bit of a drag doing a trip like this by yourself. Thanks for sharing it with us. I may get there if the covid lockdown ever get's lifted. Not holding my breath.
Woohoo you made it !!!! Looks like so much fun ! We all appreciate the videos and time you put into them , it takes alot of work to do that . Looking forward to the next one !!!
Thank you for your fantastic Videos and for the Insperation you guys giving me. Thats exactelley what i want to do as soon as our Kids are old enough. Keep up the awesome Work!!! Greetings from Switzerland!!
I had to Google the place, to get an idea of where you guys were heading. I'm taken back... amazing, you are right, I should and I will go there. Watching your videos, makes me realize I'm not prepared yet. Maybe next year, but I'll stay local in the lower 48s/Midwest and west coast first to gain some experience in overlanding. Thank you, for great videos and taking me/us along your journey with your family. AMAZING!
Great to see the other side of the Dempster in the summer. I went solo up to Tuk’ in winter on the ice road so your trip brings good memories as well as a different weather
Did this trip in July 2018 with my GX470 and trailer, a friend in his JLUR and trailer and a friend in a LX. We had to wait at Eagles Nest for about 16 for the road going south because of a washout. Cant wait to go back
I've been watching these like it was a Hollywood movie...so inspiring, relaxing......can't wait to do my own family trip up to the Arctic. 2 years.....
Wow! Amazing! Thanks for the video! I did a 12.000 KM loop with the same destination, in a solo motorcycle adventure. Unfortunates for me, funds where dry at Whitehorse and it forced me to come back. Congrats! Love your channel!
Hi folks from a wintery UK ! Congrats on reaching the Arctic Ocean in your very cool rig. Loving your cinematography especially the drone shots, wow. Think your adorable daughter is so cool as well what a wonderful experience for her. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure.
One seriously epic journey, truly a trip of a lifetime and looks like the 4Runner and Turtle Back trailer have weathered the miles just fine. A different world up there above the 66th parallel!
Thank you for another great video, loved it when your daughter was making faces in her car seat while the two of you were filming. Can't wait to see the next episode. Cheers
Beautiful. Been on bucket list for 5 yrs. Few months ago decided that'd be my next trip. Building my Jeep & trailer to get there. Idk how many there will be but convoy is planned for June 2020 👍. Alot closer starting point for us here in Alberta.
Breathtaking!! Possibly have seen some of this area. On ice road truckers, but of course was covered in snow and ice. Totally awesome stay safe and keep on keeping on!!
Congrats. Such a great accomplishment. Thanks for taking us along. Hope to drive from Phoenix to Tuk in 2 years after retiring from 40+ years as a pilot. Already been planning, so it's been fun to follow along my my maps and take some notes. The series has been so inspiring. Keep it up.
I hope you guys have a safe and amazing journey! I'm sure you guys try to take in the sights and beauty nature and your trips have to offer but keep the videos coming!! I LOVE watching your videos and I go on and on talking about your trips and adventures to my Girlfriend and showing her your videos to 1 day be able to get out and live life as you guys are! God bless!
This is definitely on my bucket list. I have been half way through Dalton a week back.. Dempster is on my to do list so I can straight away drive to the Arctic Ocean, unlike the Alaska part where you have to take a tour for the last few miles through the private property! :)
Okay, your adventure has inspired me to put this on my bucket list. Instead of just the western Canadian provinces, I want to drive to the Arctic Ocean. It will probably be when we retire, but that's only 6 or 7 years away. God Bless!
What amazed me were the number of bikers on the trek to the Ocean. Probably 1/4 of all vehicles were bikes (either single or in threes). P.S. That teardrop you saw at the Fort McPherson ferry is identical to mine, but wasn't me! :) That leapfrogging camaraderie is the same thing I felt while on the trip.
This is my first time seeing your Video. And I really LOVED it. Thanks for sharing your Awesom video. LOVE FROM NEPAL🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵A COUNTRY OF MOUNT EVEREST 🇳🇵🇳🇵🗻🗻
From the look of the ‘Arctic Ocean’ sign, it looks like you went up in 2018. I’ve gone up twice in 2018 and 2019. They’ve changed the point where the Arctic Ocean sign is. You can no longer park/camp at the point. They’ve built up a small RV campground of about 6 sites on the Arctic side of the road leading to the circle going up to the sign. They are trying to use the revenue of the campground for improvements at the point. They are charging about $63CAD to camp there. In 2018 I was able to camp on the point not too far from the ‘Arctic Ocean’ sign.
That was a great video great scenery beautiful country I wish I made it there when I was up in the Yukon but never did looking forward to your drive back through Alaska should be interesting. 👍👍🇨🇦
Great rig and great video. suspect tire pressures for thos conditions. How did the rubber hold up, very hard on tires up there. The north was home for many years and this brought back a lot of memories. I had a crew in Tuk and we did harbor soundings. They have a comunal raindeer underground meat locker and they were kind enough to share a large rain deer roast for the crew. It was awesome. sorry bambi folks. Thank again for share the arctic trip with your wonderful family.
Great video!!!! Wanted to mention how great I think it is that both of you share the driving as it seems so many couples on the road leave all driving to one person. I always wonder, and occasionally shake my head, what happens if/when the "driver" is unable to drive and their partner is totally overwhelmed and underprepared ...
Sarah actually does 98% of the driving for several reasons. Primarily because she doesn't like running the camera and loves driving the rig! Thanks for watching!
I saw this video a few years ago washing a vehicle by pumping water from the lake. I thought it’s a cool idea. Good thing I came across it again. Where did you get the pump and what’s the name of it? Thanks for sharing this videos. It gives us an idea what to expect for driving to Arctic Ocean since it’s in our bucket list.
3 1/2 hours of dark, wow, are yall able to adjust well enough? I worked on a cruise ship for a little while as an Audio Engineer and anytime I was allowed to go to the Bridge I was in awe! An absolutely amazing adventure!
Hey Griffin, actually we didn't adjust very well at all. Our sleep schedule was really random, sometimes going to bed at 2:00 AM and getting up at 1:00 PM.
That was AWESOME! Always so impressed with the video, editing and the commentary. Just amazing. With that said...I'm going to have to stop watching. With each episode I'm becoming more and more jealous. Hey, it rained in Phoenix the other day. We have some "weather" too. Safe travels, and I look forward to enjoying it as well. Thanks again.
I loved the ending shot! I’m a little biased though because I have my own sweet little blonde girl. Thanks for sharing the adventure, and keep up the good work!

That's amazing since they opened it last autumn. Did you do it in the winter when that was the only way to drive to Tuk?
